I lose you after you set desired settings. What steps to "stick" them to your chosen bank? Thanks so much.

Hi new to the X100Vi camera, I have noticed this thing with my camera where when I am cycling through the different film simulations on the LCD and move the camera around while the menu is open, the pan is really slow like 10FPS slow(almost laggy), but when I am done selecting the simulation I want, it goes back to normal? is that common behaviour?

So this was in early April??

I wish it would not remember the changes but goes back to the original/previous settings when I return and not need to save to and load from my memory card. Hope a future update gives me the possibility to set them back automatically after changing. Just like the U1-U3 buttons on the Z6.

Hi! Nothing worked on my batteries and probably I’ll have to buy new ones but my question is: how long did they work after you managed to restart them? Did the batteries have a long life after recover?

Hi Tom, with firmware 2.0 to the Z 8, have you seen yourself changing some of your preferences, settings, menu items, etc.? Either because of 2.0 or because a year experience was added.

You told us what the function buttons were set too But I must have missed how to set them in the first place!!!!

Thank you for the video. I was able to update (downgrade) my firmware for the XPro1-C using your method. However, I ran into a snag. I checked the firmware version and noticed I had V 2.1 in the menu settings before the update. After the update it was 2.0. So someone (not me) updated my transceiver to 2.1 before I purchased it. For reference I received both the XPro1-C transceiver and the X1R-C receiver today 8-6-2024. Next I went through the hoops of Disabling Driver Signature Enforcement as you instructed but when I went to the actual driver firmware page there was 6 files for download. Two for Canon, Nikon and Sony. I downloaded both BIN files for Canon and read the PDF for each. One ended at version 18 firmware and the other ended with version 26. I checked my version number by turning the X1R off and while holding down the GR button turned it back on. The version number of the one I have is 26U so I left it alone. The other thing I noticed with the two different firmware(s) is the BIN file 16449994881420101 PDF stated to use the G1 installer and BIN file 1717576959761070 (newer) PDF stated to use G3 installer. Maybe they are moving X1R from the G -1 to the G-3 installer. Why leave both on the website is another mystery. Anyway, thanks for the video. It's too bad that it reversed the XPro1-C from 2.1 to 2.0. I can't speak for what functionality I lost in the reversal because I didn't have them long enough to know what I had before I updated the firmware.

I find just carrying a crumpled up white paper works pretty darn well, too. It's literally free. Just uncruble it , take your reading, crumple it back up, and off you go. If you lose it, it won't be the end of the world 😂 this works, i promise.

Question, can’t i simply save the shoot banks to a separate SD card and save that somewhere safe? Instead of saving the cards in use for a shoot?

No of the techniques in comments worked for me (i didn’t open it so can’t say for this technique). The thing is i didn’t use this flash since 3 years… but the battery had only 3 charges it was almost new. Do you think it’s dead ? Because i received a « used refurbished » one from Amazon and this one doesn’t work either…

This worked for me. I had the red power LED on and some of my green charge % indicator LEDs on. When I re-plugged the power brick, it looked as if it the brick was getting power and then running out of juice, maybe due to the battery being at such low state of charge that it was drawing so much current that it was depleting the power in the brick itself. I let it do its thing for a little bit, then re-plugged it, and now it's operating as normally and the monolight turns on again! THANK YOU!!!

Would you mind taking a photo of the reset button? I can't seem to find it. My battery is only showing a red light too. I have only used this flash about a half dozen times and didn't realize I should be storing it with a charged battery. Thanks so much!

Excellent tips! Love the swipe right for fast switching between film sims. Been trying to figure out a quick move for that for a while. Took a few rewinds of the video, but got there in the end 👍, so easy to forget how to navigate that menu, cheers from Neil in Bristol uk

Tried to update receiver and transmitter via G1 but failed on Windows 11. Then got my old HP ProBook on W10 and sucseed.

For me this did not work. What did work was putting the battery on the strobe itself and then press the start button and the resetbutton (next to the lights on the battery) at the same time.

Hello. Good video but how do you get white balance with studio flashes? You need to take a photo and then get white balance.

It didn't work for me. I opened the battery, it had only 3V left. I gave it a jump start with a small 12V powersupply for a few seconds. 8.5V pack voltage now. Then I got a constant green light on the charger, after a few minutes it startet charging.
