    You can bet that horse was sore for a while after the trim. Living with those grown out feet at all those extreme angles for that long time. You can see how those feet have affected his tendons and joints. I am so glad that he has his new wonderful caretaker to look after him. There is no excuse for neglect.

      My understanding is that some horses who founder in a season experience absolutely ludicrous hoof growth and that it's possible for it to get extremely out of hand in a short time, such that a well fed and well cared for horse whos owners have a sudden accident and can no longer properly arrange care for them can get in a bad way in much less time than you'd think, all while eating a nutrient rich diet provided by some helpful person who's just dumping it in there each day.

They do not possess the financial ability to pay for the farrier or vets for floating teeth or vaccinations etc. I have not mentioned the cost of grain, hay, or shavings for the stalls. I've prepared them by handling legs and feet, and not once has any of the foals in over 30+ years that grew up and went on to become Hunter's or 3 Day Eventer's have ever kicked out at a farrier because of the groundwork I put in, and the patience of my farrier.

    This horse could barely walk, so sad the condition of his hooves. Still lame afterwards but SO much better. That was amazing work . At first I was like gosh, that farrier is just ruff then I realized it was speeded up. Great job🤩

      @AriochThe 2 года назад +4

      I hope he would come back like a month later, when hooves would grow a bit, and would get less warped. And then he would do final trimming and showing. It was so awful, probably he could not did it fine in one go.

    • @farmgirl7080
      @farmgirl7080 2 года назад +2

      @@AriochThe I agree. The coffin bone inside the hoof has rotated with hooves grown out like that. It will take several trims over several months to bring the hooves and coffin bone to as natural alignment as possible. He may never be normal again.

    Dear Sir, You should be proud of what a great job you did! I have been watching these videos, I'm surprised how some people seem to care VERY LITTLE about the animals. Some "man" does donkey hoofs, and he seems to hate the animals. I would never let him touch one of my animals! I would think you would need to be Certified, so "people" like that man, wouldn't be out there.
