I think he wants a community like the one he has on twitch when he is Asmongold, I know he says it’s not a character, and I’m not saying it is, but many people put on masks when they are around other people. He has made it obvious in the past that there is more going on in his life than he is willing to share (which is completely fine, we all need privacy). But those moments where we see him say something that he believes with conviction it is a completely different person who is talking whether he realizes it or not. The only problem is that by this point his chat has been given full leeway time and time again in circumstances that are serious to say stupid things and act immaturely. So when he finally opens up about something he is legitimately wanting to say in the way he himself, Zack would say it, his chat barely hears him. Yes sometimes his chat is understanding and recognizes when he is saying something serious. But often times, at least to me and I could be wrong, I feel like his chat just doesn’t care because they have not been given a standard rule of maturity to stand behind.

@@Anedime I understand what you're saying to an extent but I think its important to note that while yes there are a lot glitches that contribute towards skipping massive portions of the run a lot of the major ones are incredibly hard and required hundreds upon hundreds of hours to do and pull of consistently, a lot of runners make it look easy either because they are just extremely skilled or just because this just happened to be the run where they pulled them off after trying over and over again (trial and error) also glitches aren't the only thing that need to be considered in the run like effective movement, quick menu control, boss and enemy movement patterns etc that come into play.

It's a hilarious thought to think any of them executing these "cheats" as they call them. They would fall of the edges or softlock the game etc because they don't know the correct paths which takes practice to learn. @@dunkadumma4619 parrying in dark souls is extremely difficult. I basically beat entire ds1 abusing parrying and backstab. Got my ass handed to me in ds3. I play using mostly dodge and roll. Thanks to bloodborne I'm good at it. Although after playing sekiro my parry timing improved.

People not realizing it's Any%, finding glitches is part of the puzzle for this category. To deconstruct the game down to the smallest detail and find the quickest way to the end. It's all about playing smarter, not harder.
@@hulltugev That is why 100% runs exist but the speedrunning community lives and thrives in the any% category. Once you've achieved full mastery over a game, finding ways to completely break it becomes the next step. A youtuber named Summoning Salt made a very good video about the history of speedrunning in SMB, I recommend you check it out since it might change your mind. It doesn't hurt to have more things to enjoy.

you don't have to parry, but stamina I can understand. I pretty much went through all of DS3 without parrying just because it wasn't fun imo, but parrying in bloodborne was pretty fun.
@@simas768 There is a guy who beat the game in 41 min and 55 seconds without glitches. There are different categories basically. But yeah, I probably enjoy All Bosses Glitchless the most. That's pretty much as "legit" as it gets.

Played ds3 for the first time and died to them like 9 times, it was only when I found out about the Astora great sword was I able to upgrade it to +3 and kill them and abyss watchers in the same day lol
Trying to think whether I have died to them or not. I very well might have but I can't remember it ever happening. I have never died to the curse because I usually make them dead long before that's even remotely an issue. I know I have gotten staggerlocked a few times but they don't really do enough damage for that to be an issue unless you play with base vigor. The problem is though that it was a DS3 speedrun that made me finally play the franchise so I already knew what to expect from them the first time I fought them.
My brain cells are dying while reading the asmongold chat saying that 8n "Any%" glitching is cheating. And that's how we know they are bad at a game. ffs
craziest thing about all of this is that there can be time saved on the run because he got hit by the arrow. Also landing on the tree. that was mario speedrun levels of accuracy
a way to get through vordt easier is to kill the mimic that looks like a chest because it will drop a weapon that has a dark affect to it which vordt is weak to so it will do more damage like that rather than using a weapon that has ice or fire affects to it cause he has a resistance to it
I think it's actually harder to kill the mimic than to kill Vordt. If you keep under him he will miss 99% of his attacks, the only thing you have to keep an eye is when he starts charging in 2nd fase, if you manage to dodge that it is GG easy peassy lemon squishy.

My profession is in electrical theory and this is literally far from the truth.... A super cooled coil of copper is MUCH LESS conductive than regular copper. Now water is not copper which i get, but the whole point is electricity is temperature based. Electricity loves heat, but hates cold.
Kinda interesting how that also happens in Genshin Impact. If you want a big boom, combine fire with electricity (i theorize that due to electricity loving heat, combining said elements just boosts the electric element at such a stupid degree that it violently explodes due to the massive conductivity that the fire element produces, kind of like a fuse being fried and then exploding)

Seriously most people don't stop to think about this. The teardrop run to skip abyss watchers is literally pixels away from kill planes at almost all times. You literally have to memorize a movement path with barely any visual markers, and death at every corner, but "gLiTcHeS aRe ChEaTiNg"

btw Nemz now holds all 8 ds3 world record categories, including all bosses, so even if you think this is cheating (which it isn’t, it’s an any% and glitches are not cheats) know that Nemz is probably one of the best ds3 players out there, and the glitches used were just for the any% and his raw skill can be seen in other speedruns (he’s done so many)
This is what always bothers me. People hate on any% when it's got to be viewed more like a puzzle, but then don't look any further to learn that most of the time any runner with a good any% time will have top times in most other categories. Like just assuming people are bad cause they don't beat the game you want to is ridiculous.

It's generally a point of relevance as to "completing the game" where Elden Ring for example you can essentially spawn in, teleport to the end location where you drop through the floor and end of the game within 30 seconds...so...whats the point in that record? Is it cool that you can break the game in that way to do it in 30 seconds? Absolutely, but you haven't "speedrun" the game you've just broken it. It's a general argument of even when you are speedrunning a game someone watching should be able to tell you generally what happens/you go through, in the game, whereas any% speedruns someone could watch this and have no clue on 90% of the game because they're just running underneath the entire thing so you haven't got from the start to finish PLAYING the game in the fastest time possible, you've just broken the game at several points. That's the general mentality I've seen for people who hate on any% category.

People like simplicity, so when you have something like WR 100m sprint, nobody is confused who holds that record and what that record consists of. When you get to questions like "who's got the WR in Elden Ring" all of a sudden it's "What patch, what %, blindfolded, console or PC etc etc" it feels like it completely invalidates speedrunning as a concept when anyone can just make any category they want and you have 50 answers to 1 games WR. I feel like speedrunning community needs to come up with what is considered a "speedrun" which becomes the only record and official time while everything else just becomes cool experiments and videos just for the sake of interest than trying to be a WR.
Awww man watching these dark souls speedruns bring so much nostalgia :') I remember back when I was in elementary and all i had was an xbox and a fuck ton of games but the only game i enjoyed playing over and over again was Dark Souls 2. There was a catch tho. My dark souls 2 was in japanese and i couldn't, for the love of me, find an english version. So i literally memorized every item, every enemy, every drop, every key item and where to use them. I played the game so many times that i once beat it without taking damage and only using fists (i know that's not very impressive now but it was a big achievement for me) Damn this brings alot of memories :')

It's a hilarious thought to think any of them executing these "cheats" as they call them. They would fall of the edges or softlock the game etc because they don't know the correct paths which takes practice to learn. People not realizing it's Any%, finding glitches is part of the puzzle for this category. To deconstruct the game down to the smallest detail and find the quickest way to the end. It's all about playing smarter, not harder.
I personally find any% speedruns incredibly boring. Watching someone skip half the game running out of bounds is not fun to watch.
@@hulltugev That is why 100% runs exist but the speedrunning community lives and thrives in the any% category. Once you've achieved full mastery over a game, finding ways to completely break it becomes the next step.
A youtuber named Summoning Salt made a very good video about the history of speedrunning in SMB, I recommend you check it out since it might change your mind. It doesn't hurt to have more things to enjoy.

you don't have to parry, but stamina I can understand. I pretty much went through all of DS3 without parrying just because it wasn't fun imo, but parrying in bloodborne was pretty fun.

Trying to think whether I have died to them or not. I very well might have but I can't remember it ever happening. I have never died to the curse because I usually make them dead long before that's even remotely an issue.
I know I have gotten staggerlocked a few times but they don't really do enough damage for that to be an issue unless you play with base vigor.
The problem is though that it was a DS3 speedrun that made me finally play the franchise so I already knew what to expect from them the first time I fought them.

craziest thing about all of this is that there can be time saved on the run because he got hit by the arrow. Also landing on the tree. that was mario speedrun levels of accuracy
a way to get through vordt easier is to kill the mimic that looks like a chest because it will drop a weapon that has a dark affect to it which vordt is weak to so it will do more damage like that rather than using a weapon that has ice or fire affects to it cause he has a resistance to it
or just use lightning paper on any weapon and kill him in 10 sec

I think it's actually harder to kill the mimic than to kill Vordt. If you keep under him he will miss 99% of his attacks, the only thing you have to keep an eye is when he starts charging in 2nd fase, if you manage to dodge that it is GG easy peassy lemon squishy.

Now water is not copper which i get, but the whole point is electricity is temperature based. Electricity loves heat, but hates cold.
Kinda interesting how that also happens in Genshin Impact. If you want a big boom, combine fire with electricity (i theorize that due to electricity loving heat, combining said elements just boosts the electric element at such a stupid degree that it violently explodes due to the massive conductivity that the fire element produces, kind of like a fuse being fried and then exploding)

btw Nemz now holds all 8 ds3 world record categories, including all bosses, so even if you think this is cheating (which it isn’t, it’s an any% and glitches are not cheats) know that Nemz is probably one of the best ds3 players out there, and the glitches used were just for the any% and his raw skill can be seen in other speedruns (he’s done so many)
This is what always bothers me. People hate on any% when it's got to be viewed more like a puzzle, but then don't look any further to learn that most of the time any runner with a good any% time will have top times in most other categories. Like just assuming people are bad cause they don't beat the game you want to is ridiculous.

It's generally a point of relevance as to "completing the game" where Elden Ring for example you can essentially spawn in, teleport to the end location where you drop through the floor and end of the game within 30 seconds...so...whats the point in that record? Is it cool that you can break the game in that way to do it in 30 seconds? Absolutely, but you haven't "speedrun" the game you've just broken it. It's a general argument of even when you are speedrunning a game someone watching should be able to tell you generally what happens/you go through, in the game, whereas any% speedruns someone could watch this and have no clue on 90% of the game because they're just running underneath the entire thing so you haven't got from the start to finish PLAYING the game in the fastest time possible, you've just broken the game at several points. That's the general mentality I've seen for people who hate on any% category.

People like simplicity, so when you have something like WR 100m sprint, nobody is confused who holds that record and what that record consists of. When you get to questions like "who's got the WR in Elden Ring" all of a sudden it's "What patch, what %, blindfolded, console or PC etc etc" it feels like it completely invalidates speedrunning as a concept when anyone can just make any category they want and you have 50 answers to 1 games WR. I feel like speedrunning community needs to come up with what is considered a "speedrun" which becomes the only record and official time while everything else just becomes cool experiments and videos just for the sake of interest than trying to be a WR.

My dark souls 2 was in japanese and i couldn't, for the love of me, find an english version. So i literally memorized every item, every enemy, every drop, every key item and where to use them. I played the game so many times that i once beat it without taking damage and only using fists (i know that's not very impressive now but it was a big achievement for me)

@@shinysnivy6604 i remember doing it because i saw somewhere that you get a ring for not dying so i thought "hey might as well do one with no damage and no weapons" and since it was the only game i play all day every day for like 2 years *i think* ,it kind of felt natural. unfortunately, i didnt get to record it because younger me didnt think it was such a big thing but if i ever find my old xbox, i can take a photo of the ring i got from it whatever that's worth.

Concerning conductivity, they are completely different. Ice is not conductive at all while water, as long as it isn't pure, is conductive.

It's a glitch speedrun. Gotta keep in mind as of time of recording he was currently in the middle of his first playthrough.
Unlike us souls vets that know these games in and out everything in this speedrun is literally brand new to Asmon

If you notice at the 2 minute and 14 second mark of the speed run the timer actually goes back by about a second for no explained reason, can anyone shed some light on that?

@@hassanawdi3793 And that's the point of every Souls! We have to do our paths, fight everything, die a lot of times, until something makes "click" in our head and we can fight back and win. And obviously, if we cannot do that alone, we have a lovely Souls-Obsessed Community to help and cheer us up.
