@@nafereuskortex9055 no the cycle continues even if you become the dark lord, there will just be a new undead who kills you (the player) and kindle the flame... there is the miltiplayer which is explained in the way that, as gwyn first time kindled the flame with his soul, he splitted the time so you can visit other players with this explaination (from solair) so there is an endless cycle of worlds where the flame got kindled and not. everything is just meaningless in the lores perspective. thats why there is ds3 although there is the (dark lord) ending.

@@flandrescarlet1912 I know what you mean, I'm aware of all the flaws with DS2, the AI, the pathing, broken hitboxes, the spam, ambushes, fall damage etc. But I still enjoy it a lot, I don't really know why but it really works as an entertaining ARPG. If you're aware of all the mechanical problems within the game and you know what you're in for it will give you huge amount of equipment to experiment with and many varied builds to try out. The whole idea of bonfire ascetics is awesome.

TBH at this point in the game it doesn't matter much to lose that many. He's over-leveled for the final boss and has everything he wants to/will use at this point. Run around for a bit and you're back up to 10k+ souls.

Fifth, stream, he starts with 120k souls that he got while doing a bit of practice off-stram which he doesn't use. At 0:04:20 in the fifth stream you can see he is still level 52. He has never leveled or obtained anything off-stream. I don't have any strong opinion about the gameplay, but what you said is just made up stuff. Also, I consider myself a good player and I ended up finishing the game at around level 100. He finished the game at level 90 (I guess because he lost a lot of souls by dying), so I wouldn't say he was overleveled.

The Guy Got destroyed so bad by Executioner and Dragonslayer that he google Poise afterwards this stopped being a blind playthrough at around stream Six
After watching this whole playthrough it's insane how Asmon after having use the Zweihander for about 2/3 of the game failed to utilize its two fastest attacks, the rolling R1 stab and the running R1 fast overhead. Guess he wouldn't learn them anyway due to spamming the R2 the whole game, pure stubbornness lol. Now when someone says Dark Souls is too hard show them this playthrough. Very entertaining nonetheless.

When you make it to the narrow bridges there is a broken bridge to the left you need to jump across to get to him, it's an easy jump. Those grasses will change everything.

To be completely fair and honest. Big-head = unprepared and overconfident. But at the same time, he wants to impress his audience. That causes stress when performing for a bunch of fans that play differently. For example, I got my beating from DS1 that taught me to learn how to parry. 80% of the enemies and bosses and definitely npcs couldn’t handle me after that and the ones that I couldn’t parry, I learned timing with a down-graded weapon. Taught me to fancy-feet through it. But Asmongold: “I’m gonna dodge everything with the strongest weapon I can possibly find.” Me: “Eh, should be funny, at least” *Gets to Gwen* “This took fortitude to not quit.”
Honestly once i found out holding block to tank hits and stun enemies then wail on them or If you cant do that you can simply spin behind almost every enemy and stab them up the backside. The games really easy to abuse. As long as you dont just rush in areas the games super easy. I think the hardest part of it is the first half up to smoug while you are working everything out with no upgrades or health.
Asmon did say he will play DS2, but he said he MIGHT play it offstream. But Im guessing he'll be hooked enough to play it Onstream as its great content. Even though it isnt as good as 1 and 3
@@tooth1539 Theres 0 i-frames on roll (basically cant roll dodge anything, not even arrows) this combined with the fact that most mobs deal huge damage AND track your movement on swings. It makes the gameplay a stupid bait an attack and strike for every monster in the game, unless you want to risk it. Its not a bad game, but most of the BASIC mechanics are scuffed, which make it less enjoyable overall.
Its not exactly hard to beat gwyn without parries. At that point in the game you can just tank the hits or block with a shield and wail on him. Its a stupidly easy boss

The people that said that probably rushed through the game missing tons of areas and upgrades so when they got to the boss they were ridiculously under levelled at that part of the game. If you go through every area in order and kill everything you tend to feel overpowered once you reach andor londo. The game just gets easier and easier after that. The game throws souls at you and doesnt scale the enemies that well. If anything asmond was a far lower level with less upgrades than when i first got there. I was underwhelmed with how easy the last boss was.

And that's probably what gave the souls series its reputation; because of people fighting the boss underleveled and deeming it hard. And yeah last boss was a joke (or maybe it wasn't meant to be hard) I parried him to oblivion until he had slither of a health so I let him kill me and tried him again with weaker gear.
mccool is 100% right, it's hilarious watching asmon struggling so hard when he has to learn the boss mechanics instead of just being able to run away and tanks hits. ESPECIALLY on a boss like gwyn who has very simple moves you should be able to dodge roll out of first try by simply just knowing how other bosses have worked.
I mean the dark lord ending is kinda the good ending? It's accepting the natural order of things. The undead curse was brought upon the world because of Gwyn's reluctance to let the first flame die and he obstructed the natural order of things. If we let the flame die, not only is the curse lifted and the natural order is resumed, you become the true dark lord. Which is kinda fuckin badass.

To be completely fair and honest. Big-head = unprepared and overconfident. But at the same time, he wants to impress his audience. That causes stress when performing for a bunch of fans that play differently. For example, I got my beating from DS1 that taught me to learn how to parry. 80% of the enemies and bosses and definitely npcs couldn’t handle me after that and the ones that I couldn’t parry, I learned timing with a down-graded weapon. Taught me to fancy-feet through it.
But Asmongold: “I’m gonna dodge everything with the strongest weapon I can possibly find.”
Me: “Eh, should be funny, at least” *Gets to Gwen* “This took fortitude to not quit.”
Honestly once i found out holding block to tank hits and stun enemies then wail on them or If you cant do that you can simply spin behind almost every enemy and stab them up the backside. The games really easy to abuse. As long as you dont just rush in areas the games super easy. I think the hardest part of it is the first half up to smoug while you are working everything out with no upgrades or health.
How is it even possible for one person to donate $2000 in a single stream? You could buy a car with that, or a whole PC…
It's so painful to watch. But I have got to keep listening to the stupidity that comes out.

@@tooth1539 Theres 0 i-frames on roll (basically cant roll dodge anything, not even arrows) this combined with the fact that most mobs deal huge damage AND track your movement on swings.
It makes the gameplay a stupid bait an attack and strike for every monster in the game, unless you want to risk it.
Its not a bad game, but most of the BASIC mechanics are scuffed, which make it less enjoyable overall.

Its not exactly hard to beat gwyn without parries. At that point in the game you can just tank the hits or block with a shield and wail on him. Its a stupidly easy boss

The people that said that probably rushed through the game missing tons of areas and upgrades so when they got to the boss they were ridiculously under levelled at that part of the game. If you go through every area in order and kill everything you tend to feel overpowered once you reach andor londo. The game just gets easier and easier after that. The game throws souls at you and doesnt scale the enemies that well. If anything asmond was a far lower level with less upgrades than when i first got there. I was underwhelmed with how easy the last boss was.
@@charg1nmalaz0r51 dark souls is an easy game, and I legitimately think this game was meant to be easy; it was meant for you to get leveled to defeat the bosses. And that's probably what gave the souls series its reputation; because of people fighting the boss underleveled and deeming it hard.
And yeah last boss was a joke (or maybe it wasn't meant to be hard) I parried him to oblivion until he had slither of a health so I let him kill me and tried him again with weaker gear.

mccool is 100% right, it's hilarious watching asmon struggling so hard when he has to learn the boss mechanics instead of just being able to run away and tanks hits. ESPECIALLY on a boss like gwyn who has very simple moves you should be able to dodge roll out of first try by simply just knowing how other bosses have worked.
I mean the dark lord ending is kinda the good ending? It's accepting the natural order of things. The undead curse was brought upon the world because of Gwyn's reluctance to let the first flame die and he obstructed the natural order of things. If we let the flame die, not only is the curse lifted and the natural order is resumed, you become the true dark lord. Which is kinda fuckin badass.
