Gael is the coolest bossfight ever designed. The lore is incredible. The fight is awesome. The music is transcendent. The visuals are amazing. Nothing can compete with this fight, a fucking slugfest with the embodiment of the human spirit at the end of the world and they DID IT JUSTICE. It just blows me away every time.
@@justinchalifoux4424 Seeing as I liked your comment, I was hoping for it too. What a beautiful game Elden Ring truly is can’t be expressed enough. However, Gael is still in his own tier. It’s probably the culmination of the entirety of the Dark Souls experience though and a bit of nostalgia too. It’s hard to beat Gael, truly a masterpiece among boss fights.
for anyone still here, when fighting Midir, don't lock on during the fight. when he pauses after an attack, hit his face then run under him for a moment (2-3 seconds (don't count it)), then run back out from the direction of his face, as he will breathe fire beneath him (where you are). But, stop and turn back, and run towards where his face will drop, as when Mirdir stops breathing fire, he will pause again (as he's just finished an attack), alloting you with enough time to attack his face, thus repeating the process. Do that continually until he's dead. I beat him with the helper, who died early on. He used neither of those annoying one-shot laser moves, or the indefinite spirit-ghost -ghost-thing-attack I suspect that his move set changed as a consequence of the knight's help (the npc). Do this and you'll win, I beat him in fewer attempts than my first playthrough because of it.
Every boss he beats after over 20 tries that he says “I shit in his mouth” I feel like he says that because he wants to get the boss shit out of his own mouth. That’s why he drinks all that soda.
In Asmond's defense, Midir has some fucky hitbox issues, he hits the player so easily and it's really hard for the player to hit him. This fight is all about positioning and knowing where you need to be to hit his head, you do get used to it and the fight becomes a lot more fun.
After getting level 40 in a stat it gives less of a bonus when upgrading, its good to do it but asmongold needs more stamina and carrying capacity especially since he uses heavy weapons and gear. It also would help if he converted a few of his flasks to mana flasks to use chimes to heal or pyromanices to finish off low enemies.
I love how chat thinks Soul level 100 is overleveled for dlc. When he's lost at least 400,000 souls, if not more, hasn't used boss souls, and not to mention all the levels he put into luck 😂
Midir is still the only souls boss I haven’t beaten, tried him like 20 times and quit didn’t feel like I ever progressed and I just beat Elden ring rl1
took me like 6 tries to beat him. Sister friede is the only boss that is comparable in difficulty with elden ring bosses. Even Gael took me 2 tries to beat but he was definitely the best final boss.
"Didn't beat the hardest boss of the game on the first try" "Noob" Dies on phase 1 gael "Noob" Gets hit once against anything "Noob" Hits something 5 times "Greed" Plays safe "Hesitation!" All spoken by players who died countless times lol 😅
Playing against defensive builds like asmon's, can turn strangely interesting, just don't attack them, they will leave through impatience or attack you, then you gottem. Since the player who acts first is likely to get hit first, add stun lock from big weps, half hp in a few seconds, that being said I do like just running at their faces with big weps.
Why use the Bordt hammer the whole through? Part of the fun of these games - and I've played em all, from demon souls on - is experimenting. Like this first guy - he his having trouble breaking poise. He has freakin a lot of strength. He should use Yhorm's machete there.
People always like to complain. They kept telling him over and over during the whole stream that he was overleveled and his weapon was broken, and that was the only reason he was making progress, but if he hadn't acquired skills and learned, he would have never defeated Midir, the Nameless King, Friede and Gael, same thing happened when Mo1st Cr1tikal made his run and people kept complaining because he used the twinblades, telling him it was an overpowered weapon. People should admit when there is good run.
Everyone talking about 3rd phase Gael and I’m over here wondering what people are talking about because apparently I killed him during his 3rd phase transition and I just thought it was a cool attack he did. Idk whether to laugh or to cry lol
DS elitists in nutshell: *Play like literal pepegas in their first playthrough (like literally every person does except for Fighter PL and Chase), finally get good after barely getting 150 hours in, and *USING META 90% OF THE TIME.* Not to mention all the summons they use during boss fights (even during their ng runs lul). They did everything Asmond does, yet try to make him look like he’s the only one who plays the way he does.
Thats DS3 players in a nutshell DS2 had the best pvp scene everyone had a variety of gear only on occasion would you see an attempt at a meta. Since the GOD TIER PVP was in the 200+ levels on DS2 at the Iron Keep Bridge and faction arenas with weapons that were not nerfed into oblivion fun could actually be had. Meta ruins these games. Once the Meta heads infect a game its pretty much fun over. Everyone is a Pepega on their first playthrough. Asmon just learns these games slower than most his Elden Ring Playthrough was so smooth compared to this. Fighter is practically a DS god Chase overrated dick skilled yes but a dick nonetheless. We are still lucky Oroboro is in the community OnlyAfro would be a breath of fresh air in this overly meta politically correct gaming landscape if he was still playing today.
well i can say if there is anything I learned from this play through it’s that dark souls 3 is a lot easier than I made it out to be. didn’t realize the second bosses weapon can carry you through the entirety of the game with staggers on every hit... here I am using the heavy ultra great sword, and the FUME ultra great sword, stacking 40+ points into vit and str just to STILL stagger in 2-3 hits......... how
All the dark souls games are like that. Sure the games require timing, reaction time, patience but at the end of the day its an rpg where numbers and special effects pervail. Everyones gonna have a different expierence based on their gear. Dark Souls is as hard as you want it to be. In Dark Souls 1 one for example, you can play using magic safely and endlessly spaming spells. You could kill pretty much anything as long as their not constantly in your face.
You can R2 like 95% of the enemies in DS3 with FUGS and I say that because the Winged Knights are fucking thiccums and hardly stagger even with a charged R2.
3:59:30 - well, she killed me 7-8 times (which is too much, since it's like an average boss number of deaths). I played with dual-wielding Sellsword Twinblades - tons of damage, but no stagger. Damn, stagger is soooo nice to certain enemies (like he - 48:30 - killed me several times too, but stagger is wrecking him).
Lol no stagger? They are the most broken dex stagger weapons in the entire game. It's the only way to play that makes it easier then DSP tanking. That's why most no hit runners use them.😂😂
sellsword twinblades are the best pve weapon in the entire game,it just wrecks boss and npc invaders so easily i think you're just doing something wrong because i stopped using them after i realised how easy and boring it made the game for me.

Trust me, I know he's putting on an act, he's playing a role, but still, you want to root for him when he's struggling, and dying a whole bunch of times, but then he says some dumb shit like "easy game, easy life," or saying the boss is easy, after dying b/t 15 and 50 times, like with the Midir boss fight. Like I said, I know he's acting, but it makes it hard to want to root for him, it's almost like he wishes the bosses would just sit there and let him hit them over and over until their health bar is 0.
He’s acting? So his act, like with the nameless king, was to purposely play like a idiot 50 times, go off screen, practice and then one shot him and dance around his attacks with one hand but then got to other bosses and died 30-40 times on screen while he learned and defeated them? Idk how much of an “act” that is but ok.
@@jmkos86 I don't watch his stuff all that much, but that's what I heard, plus, it seems a little too convenient, that when he "has to take a piss," he somehow knows exactly what to do upon his return to playing.
@@metalcoremaliketh oh I’m not doubting that there are times he googled or read his chat for advice. That’s for sure. I just don’t think what some ppl do which is that he is purposely dying 10+ times to a boss just because of views and that he actually can just breeze through it all and not get hit. In his playthrough of dark souls, it took him almost 3 whole hours to defeat Artorias. He literally looked like he was having a mental breakdown and some ppl thought it was an act because he eventually just got the rng down so well that he just played well and beat him. He’s the perfect example of what perseverance and resilience can do. With enough time, a drop of water on stone will puncture it. In the earlier videos he was just ignorant and too arrogant to take help and he had this build where he fat rolled everywhere but was able to tank everything but that only got him through so much of the game until he was forced to actually learn to roll and play. The only thing that I would say still defeats him every time is his sense of direction. He seems to have a goldfish memory when it comes to directions.
@@jmkos86 Yeah, I saw that, when he died 60 something times to Artorias, and then finally beat him, when he finally realized that you can stop Artorias from buffing himself with the right amount of oomph. Yeah, I definitely agree that he's super arrogant, and thought that he could just brute force his way through the Souls games, granted he did, but not after a lot of struggle, so that part doesn't seem to be an act, but given that arrogant attitude of his, it wouldn't surprise me tbh, that he'd purposefully die to a boss for views, because it might bring eyes to his content, in the sense of poking fun, or perhaps trying to emulate him, in the sense of a build. The fact of the matter is, he's definitely a casual, all of Souls gameplay proves it, even his builds prove it, he came from WOW, a game series where the better your gear/weapons/spells/etc are, the easier the game seems, he tried that here, and as aforementioned, he made it through, but I highly doubt he thought the games were as easy as he made himself believe, when he'd say things like "easy game, easy life," that part might be an act of false bravado.

@@navyblustick7758 No that's not at all what I insinuated, I merely find it boring to watch people using heavy weapons or shields, it's more enjoyable to watch when people use regular weapons that don't stunlock enemies or block damage. Weird how that's "toxic" to you though.
gaels not even that hard Idk why there is so much hype from this video etc., yes he is challenging but he isnt too bad, somewhat predictable even, tbh i played ng's and friede can truly be much worse for example.
@@andTutin that is the most stupid thing you could have replied with to the point of which i almost doubt whether you have played or even watched asmongolds streams, the difficulty lies in the fact that there are three phases you can't back stab the big guy and the third form is way too fast for it to be worth it to back stab especially in the ng mode which i think i got to ng3-4 if I'm not wrong (i may have forgotten)the health and damage increases by quite a bit so backstabbing friede constantly for three phases is most definetely not a viable strategy. The reason why i believe she is harder is because gael is one enemy and is much easier to therefore predict rather than surviving through three rounds of combat whilst also juggling between two enemies in the second round

There's something i don't understand about the DS community. They all want to act like DS is super hard. DS is just the mainstream challenging game. It's only known as "hard" because its audience is huge. IMO the hardest game in this combat style is MHGU. But even then why do people expect asmongold not to clear these fights? All the bosses have well telegraphed attacks. If you are a Mythic raider or any hardcore progression raider in any other MMO, learning boss mechanics is second nature (and the obvious thing to do before going for the clear). All the (vocal)community is doing is showing they basically flung themselves at a boss without learning, hence calling it hard. DS is challenging in some aspects but its nowhere as difficult as some other games.
The DS community dont think the game is hard tho...everyone I've seen talk about it(that are hardcore souls fans) is sick of the "ds hordest gaem". The only hard part is the learning curve. When that challenge is done you can finish most bosses in 1-3 tries. If anything, the people that havent played it but have heard of it think its hard. I mean look at gaming websites that maybe have had one guy play it for an hour(or if they even play it) and talk about it being a super challenging game
you are clearly misinformed, the DS community portrays the game as hard to newbies and those spoiled with spoon fed gaming because it has a high learning curve and the game itself doesnt spoon feed you. Other than that once you learn the basics its not really difficult.
True I do think it's funny DS community likes to talk about how hard it is but at the same time how easy it is. DS is hard until you learn the basics. Then it's just like any other game.
Come on. Is not an easy game at all.. it is a hard game. Of course, after being killed once and again, and again, you will learn the patrons and the bosses will be easy. But at first is not easy at all. Is not like any other game, nowadays games are pretty easy in comparison to Ds
DS is one of the hardest series for blind playthroughs. The game aims to fuck you over at every turn until you learn all the nuances of each level, and even then you can't easymode your way through everything except in extreme circumstances. Asmon played most of the game with cheesiest PvE weapon (guaranteed stagger + frostbite shit for percentage boss damage, counters almost every single mob and some bosses (Friede, for example, gets staggered), available early on), facetanked everything without even understanding how poise works in this game (only mid-swing), and had a chat constantly funnelling him advice; also, regardless of what his reddit post said, it's obvious that he used google at various points. Streamers always go for the cheesiest options imaginable to try and prove how 'good' they are to their viewers, and it's as far from a blind run as possible as you'll have constant advice being forcefed to you. Even if you want to ignore it, you will eventually see a piece of information that you can't just magically forget, so you're spoiled basically every time you look at chat. This is the farthest thing from a traditional DkS run as possible. And don't even try to tell me that Dark Souls is easy just because there are cheese weapons you can abuse, but somehow MH is more difficult; MH has the Insect Glaive to ignore 99% of boss mechanics, and the greatsword > sheathe > sprint away/roll > greatsword spam exists even in the games without the IG.
Why do people say this boss is hard? it was easier than Gael, it's a fucking blind dragon, what is he gonna do. Friede is by far the hardest boss because she's on crack cocaine speed. A shield and +3 rings from dlc make these bosses trivial, people need to stfu and come up with their own handicapped runs before talking shit about people like asmon, game is not hard unless you make it hard, play your own style, whatever pops in your head, don't switch to ezpz mode.
Note to self if you rush a fromsoft game aka masterpiece you are a terrible souls player period. Doesn't matter if you killed all the bosses the enjoyment and the lore that is what matters most.
Asmongold is actually the boss when he fights the invader spear of the church. Very Predictable, massive heath bar, rarely hit you and easily get hit, but able to kill you in three hits.

Seeing as I liked your comment, I was hoping for it too. What a beautiful game Elden Ring truly is can’t be expressed enough. However, Gael is still in his own tier. It’s probably the culmination of the entirety of the Dark Souls experience though and a bit of nostalgia too.
It’s hard to beat Gael, truly a masterpiece among boss fights.
wow, that is some FPS right there.
I don't think the Vordt Hammer gets enough love in this playthrough.
for anyone still here, when fighting Midir, don't lock on during the fight. when he pauses after an attack, hit his face then run under him for a moment (2-3 seconds (don't count it)), then run back out from the direction of his face, as he will breathe fire beneath him (where you are). Do this and you'll win, I beat him in fewer attempts than my first playthrough because of it.
no, don't go under him. always outspace him and then go in after he finishes his combo to hit his head

In Asmond's defense, Midir has some fucky hitbox issues, he hits the player so easily and it's really hard for the player to hit him. This fight is all about positioning and knowing where you need to be to hit his head, you do get used to it and the fight becomes a lot more fun.

He has improved so much.
After getting level 40 in a stat it gives less of a bonus when upgrading, its good to do it but asmongold needs more stamina and carrying capacity especially since he uses heavy weapons and gear.

Because he's been relying on abusing hyper armor and stagger to carry him through the entire game.

We are still lucky Oroboro is in the community OnlyAfro would be a breath of fresh air in this overly meta politically correct gaming landscape if he was still playing today.
well I did not do much of any of that BUT Im assuming you say that to make yourself feel better about using it yourself.
well i can say if there is anything I learned from this play through it’s that dark souls 3 is a lot easier than I made it out to be. didn’t realize the second bosses weapon can carry you through the entirety of the game with staggers on every hit... here I am using the heavy ultra great sword, and the FUME ultra great sword, stacking 40+ points into vit and str just to STILL stagger in 2-3 hits......... how
All the dark souls games are like that.
@ 3:55 Congratulations Asmon, you’re a man now
3:59:30 - well, she killed me 7-8 times (which is too much, since it's like an average boss number of deaths). I played with dual-wielding Sellsword Twinblades - tons of damage, but no stagger.

@@fivethumbs4fums564 friede is real easy when you learn how to backstab her
@@andTutin that is the most stupid thing you could have replied with to the point of which i almost doubt whether you have played or even watched asmongolds streams, the difficulty lies in the fact that there are three phases you can't back stab the big guy and the third form is way too fast for it to be worth it to back stab especially in the ng mode which i think i got to ng3-4 if I'm not wrong (i may have forgotten)the health and damage increases by quite a bit so backstabbing friede constantly for three phases is most definetely not a viable strategy.
