This is a very popular fly all over and very successful for wild brown trout and the rainbow trout ..really a must have pattern for the flybox.
Hook - Fulling Mill short shank special #12
Thread - Red UNI 8/0
Body - 3.2mm tan foam
Legs - 6 knotted pheasant tail.
Wings - two red game hackles
Thorax - black Squirrel
Hackle - Red Game

nicely tied Stevie. never really been a fan of the foam daddy myself, but this is as good a version as I've seen

Cheers Martyn , they are very popular with the comp fishers these days ,especially the orange bodied one . I use to tie the detached daddy with dear hair ., these are far quicker
