I just got a basically new black 2018 S3 with 8K miles on it- off a lease , a boomer had it and pretty much never used it, garaged and all. I truly LOVE this car- has everything I wanted- it is flat OUT QUICK, nimble, tossable chasis feeling, super high quality of the drive and car itself, looks- its a gorgeous car. I have the sport package also with napa leather and magnetic ride. This car instills complete confidence in me on the road- cant get enough of this car!!
Is the glovebox soft touch plastic and are the lower door cards soft touch aswell. I keep on hearing about the quality compared with he golf and wanted to know if it is better as the golf is good and I prefer the design.
Have the S3 hatch same colour and spec except I don't have a sunroof..but I do have matrix LED headlights (AWESOME❤) and radar cruise. They are really great all rounder cars and I love it way more than I did my previous car (Porsche Macan S) as it does the long journeys as well but is a lot more fun when I'm on a back road and feel the need to push on! 👍🏻🙂
Foxx Automotive I have to say that the saloon looks much nicer than the hatch and I almost went for a blue one..but my son found the back seat a little tight re. headroom..and he's only 14..so has more to grow (we must be feeding him too much! 😁). If you check out the S3 review on Carwow youtube..that is the ex Audi press car that I bought!👍🏻
@@waheed320 If you use the drive select option, eg dynamic, comfort etc. You will see an individual option, select that and in the new list you will see suspension. If you have the option of changing the suspension between comfort, dynamic and auto you have Audi Magride.
First of all, beautiful car. I love the blue color with black-out package. I ALMOST bought one the other day. Local dealer had a loaded black Prestige with the Sport Seats and 35k on the odometer. The car was beautiful. I actually didn't want to like it as I had put a deposit on another car the day before, a BMW 428i with only 28k miles. But dam, I absolutely Loved how the Audi drove. It was a blast. Surprisingly quick. Used to have an S6 with the 10 cylinder, and this gave me a similar feeling, without that beautiful exhaust note, of course. I also like that not everyone out there has one. Really put me in a tough spot trying to decide what to do. Things I didn't love about the Audi were more nit picky things, which you kind of touched on, such as no sun glass holder, no Home Link, unless you choose the Prestige, very little storage, and the manual seats. While I can justify those, just seems odd on a car at this level. A bigger disappointment for me was the stereo. You could put whatever name you want on it, but overall I thought it was kind of weak. Having said that, there might not be a lot you can do about it due to the size of the car. I'm really not sure. I mean, look how small those tweeters are. There's just not a lot of room to work with. But after saying all of that, I was ready to excuse all of it, because it was so much fun to drive. Ultimately, however, I stuck with the bimmer, because it was about 6k less than the Audi, and has a 16 speaker stereo, which has better potential for upgrading the sound stage in the future. Both are nice cars, and I think the Audi would put a bigger smile on my face when driving, but it was like someone asking me, do you want the Audi, or the bimmer and 6 grand cash? Could do a lot to upgrade that bimmer with 6k and still put some back in my pocket. My car will be delivered in a week, and while I'm waiting, I'm still looking at both bimmer and S3 videos! lol. Hopefully I don't regret my choice. Best of luck. Still feels like one will be in my future.
The car has been completely bullet proof so far. About 24k miles and has been running a stage 2 tune and bolt one for the last 5k. Couldn’t be happier with it!
great video. I was gonna give you a heads up on the audi pronounciation, but I checked a more recent video first..and noticed you got it right now . Beautiful car man, I hope to get one soon.Do you still have it?
Great review! I really enjoyed it and gave your video a like. I just have one question, sort of lol... It sounds like you're calling it an Ar-dy instead of an Ow-dy A.K.A "Audi"? I was laughing because I think I only heard one other person pronounce it that way lol. No offense or anything. Anyway, beautiful machine man! Best of luck with it 👍
I have a2018 S3 that I Autocross. I have received so many varying opinions on Haldex. On the 2018 S3, is this system rear or front wheel drive biased. No guessing please.
It is front wheel biased. All haldex systems are front wheel biased besides the R8 which uses haldex in reverse essentially making it rear wheel biased. But anything on the MQB platform (a3-rs3, golfs, etc.) all are fwd biased. Hope that helps and love to hear that you take the s3 out for autocross!
Took a long time to get to the driving part and you mounted the camera too high and viewers dont get the passenger seat out the windshield view that I was expecting. Looking mostly at the headliner is not what I wanted while you were driving.
I want to get this car but manual seats on a car this expensive just boggles my mind. Also I really dislike those two “boob” like vents in the middle. I know the new s3 is coming out shortly from all the “spy shots” online that I have seen but by the time I can find a used one would mean I would have to wait another 3 years. My last complaint is that the back is just too small. Tough decision here lol.
Yeah I get what you’re saying about the seats. The standard seats are full electric...upgrading to the rs3 sport seats goes to manual, I assume for weight savings. Also the size is pretty small but the trade off is how quick and nimble it is so it’s definitely requires you to weigh what’s important to you! Good luck with your decision haha
It sounds like you are like me which is you do not value the sportiness of the car higher than the tech/basic features. I spec'd the auto seats. Btw, you can always paint your seat inserts white or something if they look too bland. That is what I plan on doing along with making my seatbelts white. If you are in the market wait until the new S3 comes out or go an RS3. I have a 2017. If you are leasing just wait dude. I highly doubt you will be disappointed for waiting for a more refined car....
ummm, the DSG 7 speed is an amazing transmission believe it or not, its simply much faster than manually shifting, (coming from a life long manual tran driver) plus you can do paddle shifting if you choose.....the HALDEX IS legit-I throw my S3 through mud, sleet, snow, rain and it handles it all just like Full time AWD

In love with my 2017 S3. I've had it for a year, best car I've ever driven!

Hi Mike. Still loving it? Any issues. I'm starting to look around for one.
I bought myself a 2017 S3 today and I’m so happy
@@shanea9613 No issues at all man. Did you get it? Also I liked it so much that I traded it in for a RS3 😂
@@triumphfork9268 nice man, how do you like it? I'm on a RS3 now
Bought a fully loaded 2018 S3 in vegas yellow today. I'm in love. Not the fastest car I've ever had, but soo much fun.
bought the same car as well. same spec and color
@@jagen304 hell yes dude! how do you like it so far?
I have 2017 Audi S3 manual in the same spec as yours, love it👍
SO jealous that you guys get manual transmission. That would make this car PERFECT! But I still love the DSG in my Are Blue S3 :D
Love my 18 S3,AraCrystal. Taking it out today after it being garaged to health issues of mine.
Love that blue. If i wasn't trying to buy a house right now, that'd be in my posession.
BUT...can't really complain about my 2.0t A3 quattro :D
Update: Just bought this same car lol
That was my first ever car and I loved it! Now I drive an S3 and it feels like a dream.
Ich find die alten Modelle vom S3 vor 2020 einfach am schönsten. 😄

Oh very cool! The hatch definitely adds some practicality that mine doesn’t have because like you said that back seat is pretty small for most people

i traded my 4 series for the S3 a year ago. love both cars, they are unique in their own way
Great review. Great car. Smart buy. I love Audi.
Great vid! I’m in the market to buy the same one... have you had any issues that I should be concerned about? Thanks
The spoiler isn’t a aftermarket?
great vid, thanks. mine is just like that and arrives soon.
Love my s3

great review but i dont think the S3 has a spare tyre in the trunk due to the quattro system

Manual seats are an upgrade. Save weight for those of us who race .
What are those shoes.
I actually prefer the manual seats, way faster to get it where i want it.
And lighter than power seats too! Manual seats ftmfw
This car could definitely use a heated steering wheel too!
Very true! I do miss that in the winter months
I got heated steering wheel on mine but you won’t get shift paddles on that. (S3 2017 Sb)
Your camera is so far dude,,
Great video!
Thanks!
Foxx Automotive Sure thing! One of my favorite colors. Great buy.
Absolutely. Ara blue and Vegas yellow and my favorites for this car!
It’s a huge shame Android auto requires a cable in Audi and is not wireless like BMW
Richard G not all Bimmers have wireless
Susan Miller the ones worth having do.... maybe the old ones don’t

Beautiful car, but why do Americans have such a hard time pronouncing German car brand names? It’s pronounced like howdy, think Ow-dee, not Ah-dee.
God I wish this came with a manual and legitimate AWD system.
