LS is my favorite band of all time. Grew up in Central Florida in the 70s. I see someone suggested The Needle and the Spoon. Great song. Honestly for me can't go wrong with LS all great songs and music.
Man thanks for looking up those lyrics! I have loved that song for 35 years. Hell I can even play it on my Les Paul but I never could make out what Ronnie was saying there either.
Skynyrd is 🔥. Ronnie Van Zant was the lead vocalist and the driving force behind the band. His voice with all that talent was perfect. This song, I don't remember it getting airtime, but it's a banger. Skynyrd has so many bangers. They released 5 studio albums and 1 live album before the crash on October 20th 1977. Their last album was called Street Survivors and it was released October 17th 1977. We got robbed. Yes, The Needle And The Spoon is a great one from their 2nd release called Second Helping Simple Man, Tuesdays Gone, and Gimme Three Steps are 3 more from their debut album called Pronounced Leh nerd Skin nerd. Freebird was on that same album. Just a group of Southern Boys from Jacksonville and a place Ronnie liked to call Shantytown. Plenty to listen to by these guys. Great reaction and thank you. ✌️
These are my Florida boys! I love each and every one of them. IMO, they're the best band of all time. This song gives me chills every time I hear it🥰I enjoyed watching your reaction!
DAMN, talk about a deep cut!! Aint heard this one in FOREVER!!!! For more of that beautiful southern rock, next you should do "Flirtin with disaster " by Molly Hatchet!!!!
My favorite was always "Coming Home", they just sang about the common man and open their hearts and souls to the people in a way that we ALL could understand!
The best song you will ever hear. I think one of the top 3 best guitar solos of all time. Pink Floyd, live at the Pulse, "Comfortably Numb" AMAZING you will be shook!
Exactly, the cherry on top! 🍒 The lyrics are secondary, but that's how we listen, first the music and then after 10 times, the lyrics. 😂 We were ROCKERS, party party party. These best example of the 1970's was Alice Cooper's I'm Eighteen. He is fried on stage and delivers a mind blowing performance. It eventually drove him mad, and he had to be institutionalized, but he's better now! 😂😂😂
He’s talking about an easy girl and he’s the same and he ain’t gonna call her no names for it because he’s looking for the same thing she is. We all on the hunt!
You can't go wrong jumping in the Lynyrd Skynyrd rabbit hole... I am 70 years young and I seen them three times before the plane crash and just seen them April of 2024. The group lost lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and his sister back up singer Cassie Gaines. Other members were hurt bad and the crash was October of 1977. The band started touring again in the late 80s with Ronnies brother as the lead singer, Jonny Van Zant and he still sings with the group today. They only sing songs from the original group. In 2024 they were touring with ZZ Top. I think the only song they ever covered was "Call me the Breeze" but like "The Hunt" it is one of their best...
I'm from the home of ZZ Top, Janis Joplin (my dad picked her up at the airport and she graduated with my step dad), Mark Chestnut (went to school w/friends of my sister and brother-in-law), Clay Walker (hung out as kids)....and many more. Like Grant blues artist, country, and rock.
This is a band not just a singer. A BAND that plays together and the each get to play to their skills. Skynyrd is awsome Such. A sad story about this band. They were great for a few years then the crash. Been listening to them since 1974. The original skynyrd not the make up skynyrd they’ve had since 87 You want true story telling with music skynyrd is the one. Love them still
Best Rockin Roll band in history How many bands can you think of that doesn’t have a bad song Literally you can make a list of songs from any album and pick any song from the list and you will either like it or be able to relate to it in some way Ronnie never got the credit he deserves for being one of the best songs writers ever

Man, I don't know if you have any idea how many songs that you have to listen to in front of you. ENJOY my friend. "Gimme Three Steps" & "Ballad of Curtis Loew", great ones.
They produced a ton of great songs and you almost can't go wrong randomly choosing one. That said, if you only listen to the ones that are commonly suggested, you're doomed to miss out on some real underrated gems, one being "Comin' Home" (ruclips.net/video/GYVr55Rgnlg/видео.html).
After the show The Rock Star is On The Hunt , Just the same as his Groupies . Yeah , it's that simple . Ronnie Van Zant The Red Neck Poet of the Street
Before the crash Ronnie took sleeping pills. And he laid down under the seats of the plane. The problem happened. They tried to get him up. He thought t
Hey Cliff, I'm a huge fan of Skynyrd (who isn't?) but, for balance, I'd like to give you something on the other end of the classic rock spectrum to help you with your journey. I'd love to see you check out the band Yes and their track Roundabout. I know you did Owner of a Lonely Heart, but for me, that's just too 80s pop. Their Fragile album from 1971 is way better and Roundabout is awesome. When you're ready to go into the deep end of the prog pool, go to 1972's Close to the Edge. The title track takes up one entire side of the album. I've been listening to that since I bought the 8-track in 1977 as a kid and it just doesn't get old. But, like I said, you might not be ready for that yet.
As great as skynyrds records are it was as live band were they were the most powerful.. do yourself a favor and find T for Texas on RUclips live at Asbury Park 1977 live

Needle & the Spoon is KILLER
I saw this band 5 times in Denver in the late 1970's during high school. They were great and are still my favorite band.

Ballad of Curtis Lowe for an amazing story. Call Me The Breeze for a nasty piano solo. Greatest band of all time. Timeless.
I'm a hard-rock/metal guy but I also love jazz, blues, folk, country.... it's all good. Rap on man!
The song is about the groupies and prostitutes they're both on the hunt, the band and the girls.
