    Id love to see an "at home" wood saw build with the g366. Something I can do without a lathe.

      I am doing this currently on my channel. Of course, I'll ultimately go further,but first phase is almost complete. No machine work necessary.

    First 366 I ever had fired and ran backwards. Only had it happen a few times. It'll catch you off guard tho😂

    My G366 ran backwards a few times until I backed the ignition timing off a little. The timing issue becomes more apparent when you bump up compression a bit.

    Its funny i just ported a PP 295 for shits and gigs. I was shocked at the results. I pulled the metal sleeve out of the exhaust port and widened the snot out of the exhaust. raised transfers and widened intake. I think i need to raise the exhaust a tad more and itll be even better. The lil thing rips. Be careful of the plastic intake where the carb bolts too. They tend to warp

    Make sure to check the flywheel nut on that 361. I have 1 and after 3 tanks of fuel the flywheel came loose and broke the keyway and scared up my flywheel. Over all I like the saw but definitely pull the flywheel nut and lock tight lock tight locks tight. Lol.

    I think that poulan will be awesome with a pipe! The g366 should hold up with some nitrous if the cheap stihl 170 could handle it. I would think the stihl clone would be better than the 170. That 366 sounds pretty good stock to be honest for being able to run backwards. Haha. I can only imagine how well it would be with a timing advance and a simple muffler mod. It almost sounds to me like the coil might be limited.

    The work build should be "Everyday Joe", the full on build "Ultra Joe" and the medium build "Happy Everyday" ... after Channel Islands surfboards. Or maybe the fast one "Rocket Pod"

  • @BillsGarageWorks
    @BillsGarageWorks 10 месяцев назад +2

    If you make another pipe I would love to see a mini expansion pipe. Something that fits in front of the dogs. Basically it would be interesting to see what gains or losses come from it vs a hole in the front of the muffler

    • @dynojoemods2764
      @dynojoemods2764  10 месяцев назад +3

      Might possibly make something like that, but I have tested quite a few "mini" pipes and they always act like a muffler with a large outlet. For a tuned pipe to work the size and length is required. But a straight wall pipe could possibly work with the correct length.

      @@dynojoemods2764 thanks for the info! Figures if they worked they would be on saws already I’d assume. Is there any way to make a flywheel that also acts like a torque converter? Don’t know if that makes sense but wouldn’t that help with cutting huge rounds?

  • @JoshNoss
    @JoshNoss 10 месяцев назад +2

    Remember how you did the 50cc 70cc and 90cc dyno compare shootout? Still never did that 60cc one.. really interested in that, especially in where the 460 rancher stands HP wise vs the pro stuff.. those are the videos with most views, revisiting it might be a idea worth the effort.

    • @JoshNoss
      @JoshNoss 10 месяцев назад

      @@dynojoemods2764 I definitely hear you there. But if you could, then spend the time to port em all and sell em? Think that would be a decent plus. Then could edit together the "ported 60cc saw shootout" type vid. But especially comparing pro vs homeowner, I'd bet many people would be looking for info like that when buying their 1st saw.. thanks, I wish you the best Joe.

    A Poulan 295 was the first saw I rebuilt, cylinder was scored up badly, used muriatic acid to remove the aluminum transfer then hand honed the cylinder, put in a new piston and it ran like a charm, I felt so proud! Even if it was a Poulan, but truth be told for the CC those 295's are really fast in my experience.

    I got a 295 bought new first day out the flag got melted and fell off because the exhaust was blowing right on it but i topped with it for years until the muffler got loose and melted into the oil tank if you need anything off it or the whole saw let me know ill send it to you motor wise it was always fine it has a chrome bore at least that is what it says.

    Mo Larry and Curly, I guess curly would be the hot saw or the insane saw, I have a new never used 888 hoping I can make a mill saw out it but we are not set up yet I may get another one I have a little experience with milling with chainsaws and when I was in Vermont Timber framing I had a double end mill they cut a little faster but now I'm much further south so I'm guessing it would be harder to con a old friend Rob sperber into making me another one he made my last one I wish I still had they worked very vary nicely .

      I don't really mess with many of the brands of clones, just got these for an event next year. But from what I have seen most all the clones are very similar among the brands. I would buy the cheapest version that I like. Then plan on spending the money on good repair parts.
