Mind blowing performance... One of my most loved and respected drummers
Yes, definitely. Honestly i didn't know a lot about him since a short time ago but his groove is something else.
I may say his one of my favorite drummers. At least his on my top ten.
Mind blowing? WTF? App ya never heard Joey Jordison play drums live. He is good for sure but mind blowing is pushing it. Drummers are a dime a dozen. I've seen 17 yr old drummers who would put this dude to shame, and I swear that on everything. I get your a fan, but don't over hype the dude!
@@TracyGunz here we go with the comparing of drummers again. Who gives a flying fuck. You probably think Danny Carrie sucks too 😂😂😂😂
@@TracyGunz That's his opinion. Deal with it.
@@TracyGunz Ah Dude! Techinque, speed and stuff is great. But the mind composing the drum parts is another thing. I saw Hundreds of GREAT drummers that aren't able to compose a functional drum line. Ray is great coz he can write music and serve the track pushing it into another level. And this is a talent you can't "buy": you have it or not. I'm sure you're one of those guys saying around RIngo Star sucks 😅
Ill be honest...and sometimes its hard telling and/or hearing the truth. But the fact is i hated Ray when he first joined the band. Korn was my band and have been a fan since its debut self titled album. I got the Life is Peachy album the day it came out and was counting down the days until its release at that point. Shit i saw them play in a bar/club in Toronto called the government. A venue that only held less than a thousand people. So when Dave was out and Ray stepped in it pissed me off. I want my original drummer. Not some newb. Didnt like Ray for years. But after A Path to Total.. album i stopped being a hater and starter to see his diversity, skill set, and originality as a percussionist. Slowly but surely i started to take down my defensive wall i had created for bands newest member and replaced it with admiration and respect. Im glad to say, as of to date, Ray is one of my favorite drummers and i couldnt picture a better drummer for "my" band. After comparing all the Korn albums i have to say i prefer Rays take on the material over all, over Daves and i hope he never leaves the band or is ever replaced. Even if it meant having the original drummer return ( sorry Dave, if u somehow end up reading this dont hate. You still gangsta homie just Ray is tearing up ) Ray in my book is one of the dopest drummers of all time in my opinion and as far as being respected and as a mega fan of Korn , accepted as a legit member. He earned that respect and acceptance harder than any other musician joining an established and sucessful band period. Like ive said i was a fan since Korns birth and rejected Ray in the beginning but bow couldnt picture the band without him. Sorry i was so slow in coming around Ray but this is more than a band to huge number of us n had to be sure u had the skill , heart, and dedication to be accepted as a legit member. Congrats and thank you. Damn that was long winded. My bad.
Dude ..you spoke from the heart.. and its truly like so many real KORN fans felt for a long time..
im totally down with your statement... Ray is a beast.. and his position in the band is well deserved.. He brought technique , skills and a great groove to the table... korn sounds better than ever! 🤘🏻😎..
Piece out!!!!
@@maus_drummer and i agree with your statement as well. Korn is one of those rare bands that progressed , improved and matured over 2 decades. And Rays a huge part of that. All the while maintaining their original sound without having each album sound like the previous one they did. Unlike bands such as Linkin Park. Nothing against them , just an example. Im a fan of theirs too......well the first 2 albums at least. Then uuummmm.....
I remember seeing Korn for the second time I think was 2011 here in Nashville and being MIND BLOWN by "the drummer". Didn't keep up with members of all the bands I liked or any of that then..
Was with same buddy I'd seen them with the first time a few years before. In the concert was like DUDE that can't be the same guy we saw last time, they HAD to have gotten a new drummer, this MF'r is KILLING IT!! 😳🤯
Huge fan ever since and I won't miss another concert (whenever we get to see that again) when they're near. Believe I've seen them 4x now. Had tickets to see them this year buuuuuuuut you know... Definitely my favorite live show to see, I miss it so damn bad! F you COVID 🖕🖕
This may sound odd, but i am not a fan of korn, but i love Ray. He is fast becoming one of my favorite drummers.
I have to go to Switzerland for drum events, where crowds actually seem to enjoy what they're watching...
03:24 Fucken Epic
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESS!
Haha.
Haha.
oh yeah boy
I love the tastefulness that he adds to every song, utilizing every piece of his kit while not over-complicating anything. Super in-the-pocket, while creating an aesthetic at the same time. Ray fits Korn so well.
Yeah he's not over complicating it with totally unnecessary fills, stick flips and bad eye makeup. Not at all. SMH
@ Leopard Cup Pup Kryky yeah I guess korn should have just stopped playing after David left right? All these dumb fans like you would bitch no matter who the drummer was after David.
@@leopardcubpupkryky6940 Man That was a drum festival, of course you have to spice up your performance.
I seen him last year standing in the crowd at a Godsmack show. Nashville TN. He seen me looking, I gave a thumbs up and he smiled and gave a thumbs up back.....🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
holy mother of pearl!!! this dude can freaking play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sound in this place is not the best but this man always has an incredible performance.
@@guillermo5066 Meh he dropped both his sticks. 0/100 worst drummer of all history LOL
As a drummer since a kid in the eighties I’ve seen MANY drum solos , but this is definitely the most talented performer I can remember!
It's really important to raise your child with some good music. Thumbs up for that lady.
It's so crazy how different Ray and David can play the same song... Both so unique in their own ways
5:47 - 5:53 Korn better give me them blast beats in the next album 🤘😈
I know... right?!?!
You could barely hear the snare though :(
dudes blasting on the rim of the snare
1:04-1:07 on the bass drum looks like two big port holes, it's just people's beds lol
Alex William exact thoughts
Being a Korn kid since I saw them with Metallica in 96, I love Dave. I always wanted to design my drum kit like his. Seems like when I deployed David and Head made my times darker than usual. But then Ray came in and took Korn to another dimension. The guy has me re-inspired and obviously that shows on stage and in their writing. Bravo!!
The best thing about Korn is Ray.
lol
He really is a breath of fresh air for Korn for sure. He’s so much better than David. Even just visually. He’s an entertaining player.
jonathan
@Ethan also the most talented.
I'm surprised the band didn't get slowly replaced with real musicians as time went on. Like Fieldy, he's gotta go, get a bass player on Rays level. A professional.
Amazing Ray as usual☠
One of my favorite drummers
Рэй, ты просто божественен! Я тебя полюбил, больше, чем Хеда(Ну простите меня!)
Ray, you are simply GOD! I loved you more than Head! (Forgive me plz, guyz)
Way better than the synthetic garbage on the radio today
Best drummer Korn has had and will ever have
Sam Carey I agree
Actually, Terry Bozzio is probably the best drummer that's played with them, and even Ray would probably admit that. Ray is a beast though.
Yes, he's really good playing David crations. I would like to see this guy playing Chi the way Silveria did. Ray can be fast, glamorous and cute, but the power of Korn was David Silveria, for ever
terry is good not for a metal setting though
Yeah he’s definitely the best a tossing his stick in the air and catching it. When it comes to playing, Dave will always be their best.
The lady holding baby. YES. Of course my over protective self is wondering about his/hearing protection lol
Huh?? What you say?.. I've been around drumming quiet a bit and I can't hear any high freq's and certain sounds, but put up beside a Yamaha kit and I'll feel it..
I was thinking the same. Kind of irresponsible mother.
no doubt ray is technically better than david, but korn hasn't written or recorded a decent song since david left. korn without david isn't the same. :(
Ray makes lead singers and guitar heroes wish they were drummers.
Amazing drummer! Absolutely one of the best today.
Fucking love watching him play
Hard to believe Ray was the original drummer for Steel Panther. The guy is always in beast mode.
Amazing groove. Doesn't overplay. Precise on each and every single note. Just gotta love Ray.
YES, THIS IS MR. RAYS, ACTUAL KIT!!! MICHAEL...
My favorite drummer
if i where there i would be the exiting guy in the front xD
love the me some korn medley!
Listening to this with my new headphones (Anker Soundcore Life Q30).. I feel the love and energy man!!!! This is the bomb!!!! That snare still sounds freaking amazing!!!!! Korn fan for life!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best of the best! 👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘
Ray's a bad ass
Metallica I watched the short RUclips version 5 times and clicked on the longer version to watch that, twice. I still want to see you play the whole song. I think you're extraordinarily talented because of all the practice you put in. Favorite Metallica song that's a tough one to choose. (Bleeding me) I think you should check out Metallica's load album and reload. Every single song on those two albums are great songs. The song,(the outlaw torn) is a great song. It would be a great song for you to play because the drumming is right in your face extremely prevalent and fast.
Could anyone provide a song list?
Ray has grown on me over the years, I always thought he was an excellent drummer, just not for Korn, but after all these years he has made David’s drumming techniques his and has undoubtedly mastered them.
You can really see his jazz influences and background come through here.
Ray is a freaking BOSS.
I don't understand ppl not liking Korn 🤷
I think you either love them or hate them. I think that it is a visceral/ primal reaction that gets reached in those that love Korn. I love them and I have nephews that share my musical taste on just about everything but not when it comes to Korn. I think John is such a creative writer and everything that is in their songs is intentional, some people think that he just can't sing in tune but the way he sings and phrases the lyrics is so uniquely him and consistent that it is brilliantly intentional and only to the musicly illiterate would he sound tone deaf.
Billie Holiday is remembered as a great singer, her range was very limited and her voice was by no means one of the most beautiful but the way she sang and phrased the lyrics made so many singers try to emulate her, unsuccessfully I might add. She would sing so far behind the count that you would almost swear she was singing to another song, she was brilliant and I think that it came naturally to her because to think about what she was doing and then consciously pull it off, I think would be almost impossible.
I N S A N E
Wtf who is joey jordison or dave lombardo???????😂😂he is way better 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
sorry to bother you, man, but i disagree: i think joey jordison has got more technique than ray luzier, who is here (a little bit) slaughtering his kit; may i suggest you to go watch a live version of korn's song "blind" with jordison at the drums; believe me or not, but it does kick arses ;-) ruclips.net/video/3NA4MtK_EFc/видео.html
Don't compare each other, ray is a lot batter future for korn

ray luzier is perfect.
RAY can play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All I CAN say is OMG.
The beat master. So groove and precise
guy reminds me of Alex Rudinger mixed with Dave DiCenso with a bit of butter great groove
David sucks compared to Ray. Holy shit, so much better!!!
What a powerhouse!!! Anyone else find a lot of his playing reminiscent of the late, great Pat Torpey?
First three songs are Here to Stay, the breakdown of Freak on a Leash, and A.D.I.D.A.S.
Pharking spot on RAY cheers2ya
To see him play that close is incredible
!!!!!! Super!!!!!
dang!
Ray is very underrated. Amazing talent
I wouldnt be able to flip throw that drum stick and catch it twice in row let alone play that piece while doing it.

this video is underrated!
Investment is awesome 👍😂
what was the song after freak on a leash?
Favorite of mine for sure!
I like
how do I get that snare sound?
it cuts at Ever Be. One of his best and most creative drum parts. So tight. So Funky. Otherwise. Brilliant video.
U think ray can come up with those pieces like david? He’s fast great player however can he come up with a piece like david? Listen to his drumming with korn? Not like i can really remember that its unique. No offense to ray.
🤘🤘🤘🤘he is soooo good
The wizard 🥁😮💨
Anyone got some song names?
set list pleeease ??
How do you edit out one of the best technical grooves in the set. To each their own I guess.
I know huh? I was like wtf?
Where is the new album?
Medley korn
There have been like 2 or 3 sense your comment 6 years ago 🤣
@@eriksand9262 thats why I am Jesus
Reminds me of Kieth Moon and his fanatic playing. But this is harder and much more aggressive. I could never find the energy to continue to play at this level. Damn
He is is so badass
This drummer gived the right. Touch to the rock music i love the way he. Nail. Those drunns
