Yay! I’m so glad to hear a reasonable approach to shopping. I love Azure; I also love Costco and Sam’s, but my loyalty is to my family and our budget. Thanks for sharing.
I agree! I do buy a huge majority of our food from Azure but certainly not all of it. I prefer Costco over Sam's but Costco is two hours away so it's not as practical. As much as food is costing now, we do have to be careful and shop wisely. We will always buy our raw milk cheeses, organic flour, wheat berries, organic oats, oils, and many other foods from Azure no matter what but am not married to any store.
That’s a great list of what you’ll get there!! I left a lot off mine or I’d have still been there talking 😂 The chocolate is a must from azure for me now, too!
@@Thetravelinghomesteaders Yes I get chocolate chips from Azure as well. Dry beans, whole dried corn, cornmeal, sauerkraut, organic cane sugar, BUTTER, and so much more. Azure is no doubt our favorite but like you said, we have to all be smart shoppers.
The first time I ever heard ‘air chilled chicken’ was on one of your videos. Not sure if I hadn’t paid attention previously in life or if I really hadn’t heard the term. I know I’ve never been shopping for chicken and saw it on packaging. I’m intrigued now to experiment with chicken to see what the taste difference might be lol and what the benefits if any are as well. I love Azure but I like you have to consider all my options in order to stick to both quality food purchases but also keeping the budget in mind. It was eye opening to experience my first order with them because it is expensive to buy in bulk. I had to remind myself that I don’t purchase like that every month like I may at a grocery store. In the end, it has worked out to be cheaper for the long haul lol. I appreciate your honesty and realistic approach to shopping.
Great and honest balance. We get about 80% of our stuff from Azure and the rest we have delivered from Walmart. Are you buying organic rice? If not that is why it is cheaper. I don't like the Jovial pasta. I cannot afford Raos. Do what is best for you.
We don’t have sams but I will always buy garlic from Costco- fresh and cheap. We’re currently making some painful choices. My husbands hours have dropped and we were paycheck to paycheck prior to that, so now my main source of fresh food is the food bank. Thankfully we have lots of staples. I’m hoping to get one solid azure order with our tax return (including the chicken!!!!) and small orders monthly
It might have been a bad batch, it was probably Red Star (I've gotten that one from Costco many times it's like red-white-and-blue I think), but that is the same brand that Azure sells too! They just repackage it.

That’s such a great thought! Yes! Our loyalty should be to our families and budgets!
This was very informative! Thanks!
Thank you!!
Thanks for your perspective on Sam's vs. Azure. When I was going to get the minced garlic, it came from a country I did not want to buy from.
Thanks for showing the difference in Sam or azure
I buy the peeled garlic from Azure. It’s fabulous!
That’s a great tip! I didn’t even realize they had that for some reason

Honestly, until I started looking into best practices and doing experiments on chicken for myself I hadn’t heard of it either!

I have done a couple of bigger azure orders and it has helped sustain us on the rest of the months when we can’t do that! That’s a great plan!

Oh that’s interesting!
