  • This video is a follow up to our original video on Azure Standard. I had a request to do a comparison between Walmart and Azure Standard. In this video I will show you what we purchased from Azure Standard this month and then compare these items to similar products at Walmart.com. Hopefully this will give some of you a better idea of if Azure Standard will work for you. We hope you enjoy our Azure Standard Haul. Thank you for watching!!

    *Disclaimer: All prices from Azure Standard were current at the time of purchase from their website. All prices listed from Walmart were obtained from Walmart.com and were current at the time of filming this video (prices included our local tax to keep the comparison fair). We are not liable for any discrepancy in prices as prices change from day to day at most/many stores. This video is for informational purposes only.

    Azure Standard is non GMO and organic foods. Walmart most things are listed with bioengineered ingredients. To me there is no comparison.

    I’m new to Azure, but from what I’ve seen from the RUclips, the difference is also the quality of the soil and all the nutrients in the soil. I doubt Walmart has that from there suppliers.

    I must say that your Walmart has extremely high prices! I thought western Washington Walmarts were high but I think your Walmart prices are higher..is that because you live in more rural area?
    I haven't ordered from Azure yet but I will be. A friend referred me last year.
    I do agree with other viewers that Azure has higher and much better quality. My pastor and his wife (and many from the congregation) order from Azure.
    Thanks for doing the video Terese!

      Let us know what you think😊. We started ordering from Azure Standard years ago in the Tri-Cites before the whole mess in 2020. I have always disliked grocery shopping ( maybe a byproduct from WinCo lol ). This helps keep us out of the grocery stores.

    In my area of western Ohio I was lucky and signed onto a drop point several years ago. I order things I can't get at my local stores like: Multigrain hot cereals, bulk dried herbs and spices, and sprouting mixes. As our drop point is large, and just off a cross country interstate, we have been lucky that our shipping isn't too high. Some of our other members order boxes of fruit, 50 pound bags of oats, flour and wheat as well as storage buckets and other household items..

    Walmart is expensive, and nit near the quality of Azure, but dont you have to pay an additional fee for shipping through Azure?

    • @Thehomesteadinghills
      @Thehomesteadinghills  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching. The shipping cost for Azure was calculated into the numbers I provided. The shipping cost is 8.5%. For us it’s not even a comparison. Azure is the way to go 😊. Yesterday I was out of organic pasta. I ran to Walmart and they don’t even carry any. (Granted it’s in a very small town.). They did not carry a single pasta that was not fortified with the man-made “vitamins” that the food industry loves to put in our food. With Azure we are getting real food. We are working on producing as much of our own food as possible. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. It means a ton 💕💕. May God bless you and yours.

    It’s pretty much impossible to compare things on the Walmart website. Because they get their stuff from other stores, including Wayfair and many other stores. So you could for instance find a box of oatmeal for five dollars the same box for $10 in the same box for $20. From all different places. And if you accidentally landed on the $10 box, you might think that’s the price you’re gonna get from Walmart. When in fact, it’s a price you might get from, some other store. It’s very confusing. I think they’re trying to be Amazon. So you never know if you’re actually getting your stuff from them or from somebody else that they’re shipping it from.

      @@wfknits1970 thanks for watching. Good to know. We don’t shop a lot at Walmart and haven’t used their online platform to order, so I don’t have a ton of experience with it. I wasn’t sure what I would find when I set out to do this comparison. I was surprised that Walmart did seem to have some “healthier “ options available. I thought that Azure Standard would come in much higher and was surprised to see that when you do a true comparison of like things Walmart was slightly more expensive. Good evening pretty lady ❤It looks like your house is a log cabin. So is ours underneath the siding. It was a 1940's miners cabin. Our Costco is 2.5 hours away in Greenbay Wisconsin so we didn't renew our card. We are in a similar boat. We have a small grocery, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. Walmart, Aldi, Dollar Tree and all the other stores are 30 miles away. I do try and order from Walmart and Home Depot online but they don't ship everything. Azure is also not available in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

      Sometimes you can ask around, at your church or schools to see if anyone is interested in doing a group/co-op order. Azure can add a drop point if there is enough interest, but that can take time to build enough interest.
      I am lucky I signed onto a group which grew so much they had to break off two additional points.

    The products i buy from Azure aren't available at Walmart. i buy mostly whole grains.
    I'm very close to ending my relationship with Walmart. Although to be honest we still do Sams club every 2 or 3 months.
    I've only been buying a small amount of dairy and produce at Walmart. Produce will soon be replaced by our own. I'm starting to buy some of our dairy from a local farm. hard cheeses I'm doing Azure. I buy raw hard cheese from Azure and get the big 5 lb blocks to save a ton of money. if you vacuum seal what you can't use in a few weeks it keeps for months.
    If you start making a lot more of your food from scratch and stop buying processed stuff you can afford the higher quality whole bulk foods.
    It can be a little more work but with some organization and bulk cooking its achievable.

    • @Thehomesteadinghills
      @Thehomesteadinghills  5 месяцев назад +1

      We do the same. We no longer have to purchase any meat/protein as we raise/hunt all our meat and eggs. We grow as much of our produce as possible and can all that we are able to. A majority of our dairy comes from our goats. We still have cheese. I cook everything from scratch. Trips to Walmart are few. As I mentioned in the video this was a request from a subscriber that wanted to see the comparison between the two. It is so freeing to see the trips to the conventional grocery store dwindle. I did my original azure video to bring awareness to a healthier option. I agree we often choose buying fewer products from them in order to get what we really need/value. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 😊.
