      That's actually a good price. It's a new vehicle (never sold) and it was an Overland. This was a 65k vehicle in 2022. They are pretty nice. On the other hand you can get the 2024 basic Laredo for around 47k. Me, I'll take the Overland for 42k since it is the exact same SUV as the 2024 Overland wich is around 60k.

    I wish more dealers were like this.
    My family has tried to buy cars from my local car lots that sell cars for 5k and under.
    I had looked at a Ford product, it had an oil leak and a hole in exhaust. I told them if they repaired those things I'd buy it.
    They called 2 days later and said it was done. I went in with cash, the leak was from valve cover which they put a layer of silacone on the seam with a caulk gun, and had put a leak band clamp on the hole in the exhaust line. The clamp was designed for a water line and had a rubber membrane which of course had melted on the exhaust and smelled horrible.
    Needless to say I walked..
    Another car lot sold my brother a vehicle with a broken door handle, they said they already ordered the handle and when it came in they'd install it for him. Weeks went by and finally my brother called them, they guy that sold him the car answered the phone, found out who was calling and pretended to change his voice, saying they fired that salesperson for promising people repairs after the sale they weren't going to do.
    Typical sleazy used car lot sales tactics that give them all a bad reputation.

    Not only has the volume of cars going through the auctions gone down, the number of cars that are run through repeatedly due to ridiculous reserves/minimums and no sales by the sellers is unsustainable. There has got to start being a flat seller’s fee each time a car is run through whether it sells or not.

    I brought my current car back in 2015. My 2007 ford focus has served me well over these past few years. Last year Id did get conned by a Midas. A simple cut break line turned into a $2800 repaired. I had to get it financed. The shop did not tell me the details about the financing. The interest rate was 149%. I had paid over $2000 in interest only before I was approved for a loan so I could pay the finance company $2800. Other than that. My car has been a great ride. I did expect to have gotten a new car by the time I reached the point in my life where I would be making $60k/year. But the economy is crap and the cost of living effectively make my current income equivalent to a salary of $40k back in 2017. While I would love to upgrade to a truck or a van. I just cant afford that. Only way I am buying a new car is iff my car gets totaled or if its so broken, that it will cost me over $2k to repair.

    within the first minute and a half of the vid, everyone sees how well you treat your employees. the trust you bestow upon alex is a great example - he has autonomy to use company money to buy cars. you save a whole lot of worry and time by letting go and not micro-managing. important things can be delegated to good people. small businesses especially need to operate this way; you would not have time for a youtube channel if you insisted on doing all the buying and insisted on overseeing every repair, detail and transaction. most of what motivates employees to excel is feeling consequential.

    The $3999 vs $4000 is more for search engine optimization than any manipulation of the customer.
    People search prices in whole numbers. If they set $4,000 as their maximum price, they may not see your product because it’s at the maximum and may be shown much lower in results.

    Good video, re: additional auction fees. New or used, seems that everyone in the supply chain has gotten fat on fees (add-ons). Although I'm in the market for a new truck, I just won't pull the trigger, I negotiate a price to invoice (or below) but the dealers have gotten so used to the additional "PORK" on the deal they've forgotten what it's like to survive in leaner times. They have forgotten the basic sales strategies of supply and demand, i.e. reduced prices = lower inventories. This will push many dealers into bankruptcy.

    My local auction just added a cash handlers fee. If you pay cash for your cars they charge $25 per car to take your money.

    • @bernadettemartinez1901
      @bernadettemartinez1901 3 месяца назад

      Unfortunately, cash handling is very expensive. In retail debit is #1 cheapest business expense, then #2 credit. That's what I was told, by retail trainers, from a huge corporation. Cash is also pretty dirty...too. 🐶

    • @Wis-husker
      @Wis-husker 2 месяца назад

      Cash is the only thing (currently) to keep up from a central bank currency (CBC) . So yes it is needed and important. When CBC rolls out you WILL NOT HAVE control of the money you earn.

    Brandon what is the name and location of your dealership? It's very hard to find a trustworthy used car dealer, but after watching your videos for the past year or so, you seem like someone who can be trusted. I've been looking here and there for a reasonably priced second car, maybe you've got something that could serve that purpose.

    Hey Brandon I’m a big fan and have been watching you for awhile! For your priced inventory where do you like to advertise your inventory and get your leads? Just a new dealer trying to learn. Thanks!!!

    Why can’t dealers simply lower the car and sell it for a loss to the public versus selling at auction that brings a reduce price that is lower than retail?

    • @bernadettemartinez1901
      @bernadettemartinez1901 3 месяца назад +2

      I wonder....if those dealers are getting more money from Uncle Sam/ business loss / tax write off? Maybe, they aren't willing, to lower prices because, they know 'for sure' they will get paid. It's like Walmartt, with billions of dollars , in shoplifting losses, they know they are covered, by US government. 😒

      I bought my new car with 30 percent discount OTD. You just have to know how to identify the car that ain't selling that in the dealer lot for more than a year! You also need to approach it without the average joe consumer mentality, looking for a car at a dealership.
      At the end of the day, the simpler answer to your question is simply because regular customer don't know how to identify and approach the dealership as businessman looking to offload underperformed inventory!
      All of those sales person is looking for commission, wholesale car hurts for their commission and for the dealer, that is also why they don't advertise it, YOU need to approach them for it!

    Normally a nice beater car like that would be right in the range for a college kid but unfortunately so many college kids think they are untitled to have a nice new car. Our kids were tickled pink to have a car that would get them around they didn’t care about the cost.

    There are dealers selling lightly used cars (I consider this cars still inside their warranty period) in my area for original MSRP. There is no difference in price or payment for used versus new, trying to force us to buy new cars but no one can afford those either.
