Anyone else notice that weird saturation that seems to go away when there is a title?
Looks like I have some research to find out what the hell happened.
Pretty sure that wasnt on my end.

Which titles and what were you watching RUclips on? Sometimes there is interaction between audio and titles approaching 100 IRE. I'll watch again with good headphones on my computer then again on my TV . . .

@@redcabinacoustic-official it was the actual saturation of colors

WHOA! Big jump in luminance at 3:42, (that's an obvious one), must have something to do with the way the title is keyed? I'd go back the project file and take a look to see if it happens when real time effects rendering or only during the export render. I didn't notice the fist time I watched, but I was on the elliptical . . . Premier Pro?

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  3 года назад

@@redcabinacoustic-official Yeah...also the colors in the background are super saturated...
      I dont color correct...ever...
So not sure how that happened...
      Probably something in the export.
Just did a reinstall of all the programs after I rebuilt the system...so it might be an errant setting somewhere...
      Weird though

I have one of these... It's my always on the desk in a boom arm, mic.... Definitely use it with an an external shock mount and an external pop filter! If you want to use dark mode for spoken word it It just takes a little EQ but it is good for that. V1 can get you closer to a condenser sound for vocals. Again if you want a darker sound... The dark mode handles EQ very very well... However the versatility is really where it shines... And I would say it's more for music than broadcast.

Also got the Stealth mic by Aston and it’s pretty good for both vocals and instrumentals. I recorded two tracks using built it “preamp” of V1 and V2. Dark mode sounds dope af on revereb or delayed parts which I use for backings 🔥 Just be carefull with your harsh “P” and “S” or at least keep 3 inches away from the mic.
Tested the mic with Dynamite 🧨 in-line active preamp by SE Electronics, using the 48V on my interface (Onyx Producer) and wooow! It sounds identical to Spirit Multi Pattern.
PS: personally compared with SM7B and SM58 for a live production just like in this video, but the Stealth is def a game changer in my opinion.

I actually really like this microphone for vocals and guitar (acoustic/electric). I don't know about podcasting because I don't use it for that. That being said I still love using an sm57 for everything. Every microphone has a learning curve and when you find the sweet spot, most will sound pretty decent. Even my samsung c01 has a place in my studio as an overhead mic while most people would trash that mic.

The SM7B and RE20 are 'smoother' and a bit darker. I prefer both of them with your voice over the Stealth. I feel like for a long podcast/spoken word production, they suit your voice better than the Stealth.

      It does sound very full.
Also, that guitar is very boomy, and it seemed to channel that without the boomy-ness...which not sure how to explain that.
It did diminish the buzzing of the frets quite nicely as well.

Maybe it’s not as good as the legendary mics but it’s not a bad mic. It’s still a high quality pro mic, the fact that it’s being compared to the industry gold standard makes it’s a pretty good mic.

this mic just doesn't sound right to my ears. The Sm7b and re20 are way better sounding mics. if you have a higher voice and you love to have some more clarity, just buy the ev re20. If you have a deep voice and you like the kinda muddy sound, buy a Sm7b. (just my opinion) But great Video as always!

You know that if you win the lottery, it's a Telefunken Elam-251 for her and their U47 for you at a cost of only $31,594.80 tax included, and you will need some latch lake mic stands to protect them from ever tipping over. They will come from around the world to hear your voices through those magnificent voices through those masterpiece microphones. No plastic that I know of on those mics. For the one with the plastic connector you remove, I think I would buy a shock mount for that one, keeps it balanced plus no one is grabbing it with their hand. A Rycote would be ideal but it adds a lot to the cost, still it can be transfer ed to many other mics too.
That broadcast setting sounds like when you have earplugs in your ears! Or when you wake up after a knock out.

I've seen more of these used on universal shock mounts than not... They supposedly have an internal shock mount, but that awful mount is absolutely unforgivable. This think this will be a great vocal and electric guitar mic. I've heard a couple great mic'd amp sounds out of these.

I had to go to my local instrument/recording gear shop 5 TIMES because of the freaking mount breaking WHILE MOUNTED, causing a piece of the mount to be stuck inside. I use a universal shockmount now and it's better. I also paired it with a Røde WS2 windscreen and it really matches the rest of the microphone, and did wonders for resilience and plosives. But i've also had other troubles with the build quality, such as the XLR port failing and being physically damaged.
I've had this mic for 3 years now, and while i do believe it to be a very nice and versatile mic, if i could pay the extra 200$ right now for an SM7B and a cloudlifter, i probably would.

    From the manual:
The Aston Stealth is a large chassis, broadcast quality, end fire
dynamic mic with four switchable voice settings, each tailored
to deliver unparalleled performance across a broad range of
    applications: The settings are:
V1 (Vocal 1): This was voted top in blind testing for a range of
male vocal takes, regardless of the pitch of the singer.
V2 (Vocal 2): This setting came top for a range of female vocal
takes. As with V1 this was more to do with timbre than pitch.
In both cases these results are subjective and we recommend
trusting your ears to find the best settings for your needs.
G (Guitar): At home on anything from Spanish guitar through to
    raucous guitar cabs!
D (Dark): A vintage sound, reminiscent of classic ribbon mics.

Aston Microphones are my favorite, ever since I’ve owned my Aston Spirit. I’ve been wanting the Aston Stealth for awhile. Many users of this microphone I’ve met, say they prefer it over the SM7B. I love the sound of the different modes this microphone has. It’s almost like you’re buying 8 microphones, considering you can feed it phantom power. I’ve seen better demos of this microphone, that’s for sure.

The Aston Stealth is the most embarrasing mic launched within the last decade. ONLY topped by the Aston Element, which is even more insane.
The Aston Stealth sounds so bad I'm shivering whenever I hear it. It has the nastiest of nasty 1 to 3 KHz peaks.

It’s so dumb to take offense to male and female aimed voice settings. Are we going to pretend like, on average, men and women don’t have different qualities to their voices?
