BGM Track 43. I got the game yesterday and was setting my online battle theme. When I got to track 43 it must've looked like I just took a lot of caffeine, because I could FEEL my eyes get huge as nostalgia blasted through me.
Listening to this song in headphones, I can really pick out a lot of stuff I didn't notice before on a CRT. Those off-tune bits after the main riff...crazy!
I still have a box tv that I actively use! You’ll see why when you watch my videos, I have a rack of vhs tapes and vintage stuff that’s a bit taller than me! I’m 5’11 and 13. In a swift attempt for vhs to make a comeback!
I was so bad at the main game when I was a kid that I just played exercise mode haha - good times regardless and this tune really brings back the memories!!
I was born in 1988, so I lived through all of the 90s and this game (and other Sonic games in the 90s that included the titular character himself) was basically life for me. Good times.
Is it just me or is it fitting how this is a longer version of the game over theme? It's like you're here to practice, to overcome your past limits and improve.. A theme of trial and error, failing time and time again but getting ever so better with every attempt. C'mon, keep up! The exercise has only just begun...
The only problem I ever had with MBM is that it has this epic tune... and its only used in the Exercise mode, when it sounds like it should be for a boss or something. Funnily enough, in the original Japanese game Puyo Puyo, this music IS used for bosses near the end of the game.
For comparison, here are the different versions of this song for those interested in doing a comparison: *Puyo Puyo: Sticker of Puyo Puyo* - ruclips.net/video/F2bDFRi4Q-U/видео.html *Mean Bean Machine: Exercise Mode* - This Video *Mean Bean Machine: Game Over/Continue* - ruclips.net/video/DqvxMaYzeZI/видео.html
This is the song I hear when I think of my childhood plug n play: Radica Sega Genesis Arcade Legends Vol. 1 No joke, Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was my childhood back in 2011! Good times.
Good old plug and play from 1993! I still have the Sonic Mega Collection Plus game that has this game on it for PS2. These classics, from the 90s, were the goat! Born and raised in such an underrated time! ✊🥰😎🎮
@@3mar00ss6 Apple can easily set custom ringtones -- my littlest brother set his iPhone 14's ringtone to Trevor's ringtone from GTA V. He also uses it as his alarm sound.
SEGA imported some aspects of the original game into the westernized version, why couldn't you Nintendo. The good thing is the westernization is gone from this series and we can have a Puyo match between Ringo and Sonic.
I just realized this has been the idling music in my brain for nearly two decades...
Same!since the early nineties.

Really lifts the spirit.
Used to do this mode with my little brother for hours and it flows so well you'd never get tired of it!
Puyo Puyo > Tetris.
I'm actually tearing up with how hard this goes
Robotnik: "ACTIVATE THE MEAN BEAN MACHINE NNNOOOWW!!!!"
“SCRATCH!! GROUNDER!!!”
Love this game’s soundtrack. It had some great and catchy tracks! Wish Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 had these songs in them. So much nostalgia
It does! (This song at least)

This song and 2-player mode song made these modes so memorable and so high intensity

That bass is so good!
Listen to this while looking at the cover art, and get ready to be taken back to the early 90s.
Well, I was a 2000s - 2010s kid, but okay...
...But for real, though. I REALLY love this game, and I still do today. 😁😄💙

WHEN I HEAR THAT MELODY KICK IN RIGHT FROM THE START I LOSE MY MIND ITS SO GOOD I CANT BELIEVE IT

Gangsta's Paradise
I like the more industrial and aggressive vibe compared to the original Puyo Puyo version.
I associate this song with Rulue from Puyo Puyo, even though I heard it in Mean Bean Machine first.

How do you set songs to your ringtone cause this would be mine
Depends on what type of phone you have
I don't think you can on bad phones like anything from Apple but if you have an Android I can help you
Just record it if you don't mind the quality.
If not download the song online and search if you can put it as your ringtone

I can't decide which one I like the best: This one, the one from the DS version of Puyo Puyo 7, or the one from the Genesis version of Puyo Puyo...
