This is really beautiful! I still really struggle with what marks to make and in what direction when hatching, but I'm practicing with it this Inktober. This, though - wow, it's a whole other level!
There are some who can get them all perfect-I can if I really try-but it’s more important to get the overall effect and not obsess about what it looks like 1” from the pen tip 🤣
he is such a handsome & distinguished guy. thank you for always sharing with us in youtube land😊 one of my favorite type of drawing is using just black fine liner. have a great weekend!
I appreciate your concise instructions - like your drawing, only using the marks necessary to make the image. Thanks for the consistency of your style and instruction!
Had a bit of a problem finding this video. The first click went to the Zekes treehouse. But I got it finally! Well worth the search! My family's name in Hungarian (Kakas) means "rooster" so this was a perfect video to watch. Love the tips. TFS
This was so helpful for me. I do not have a formal art education so when someone say crosshatching or line work my eyes cross because I have not been totally sure how to do that. The examples have really helped me see what you mean. Thank you!
Wow I always admire your enormous talent and skills. Really blown away by that amazing rooster! You absolutely are skilled in so many different media! Love to learn from you and it always gives me that push to try something new. Lots of love from the Netherlands, Linda 🇳🇱🌷
LOVE this rooster!! So beautiful 😊 I really enjoy your videos and learn so much. I have a very long way to go to accomplish this type of drawing but watching you always encourages me! ☺️
What a great video. And a very handsome subject you picked! Though I must admit as soon as you said that you’d picked a paper that isn’t going to “feather” I immediately thought “A poor choice for drawing a bird!” 😂
Depends--I'm always testing swatches, because pens and inks differ with papers. I don't remember exactly the multiliner size as this was a while back but likely a .5 or so I think.
Words fail me. This fellow is so handsome. Your gift of talent and years of dedicated work sure shine. Susan

I really like that every line is not exact but on the whole image they all go together

My first thought was where’s the reference? But found it!! Your line explanations are wonderful!
All I can say is WOW! Found your channel recently and have been enjoying your beautiful work. This rooster is fabulous. Thank you for sharing 🤗❤️

👏👏👏👏👏 Nice
Nice work! What was the pen size and how do you decide when to vary pen thickness on a piece like this?

He is a chicken. Chickens can be hens or roosters. lol. I hope we don't get as crazy on the genders of a chicken like we have on humans. lol
