Helpful tip i saw someone explain the back loop only as EXTERNAL loop only when sewin granny squares together with this method, it made a lotta sense. Tysm for this quick video its soooo helpful and straightforward ❤
Thank you. Have done this decades ago. I now have a tote of granny squares. After my husband died suddenly it was a quiet therapy. After ten years it is time to make a lap blanket. I sew together back loops then front loops. My squares are a gaint mixture of pinks in middle then green then white. Kinda shabby chic colors of flowers. Thanks for the reminder and incentive.
Generous! I have been sitting on bags of granny squares for years because I was dreading the thought of connecting them. But now, I feel ready to tackle and finish my project. Thank you so much. ❤
Love it! I often makes squares of scrap yarn and really don’t like the “join as you go” method. Your way looks easy, relaxing, and quick to do while watching TV.
Hello 👋! I was starting to join my granny squares with my crochet hook and yarn for the more “bulky” attachments. But, after watching your video, this makes me want to undo them and do your method. I’m S💕 happy that I bumped into your video ☺️! And yes, I did subscribe 👍😀👍!!!
I just finished all my squares for a cardi and have considered numerous ways of joining, going back and firth between sewing and crocheting. I was leaning toward crocheting, as the yarn is used one time only and it doesn’t cause the wear of bringing the yarn through stitches over and over again. But going back and forth like here and joining shorter lengths of yarn with a magic knot might be the sweet spot. Thanks!
First time visiting your channel. I enjoyed this tutorial and listening to you speak. You have a calm and soothing voice yet confident in your instructions. I’ve always ridden the struggle bus when it comes to joining. What method is best, easiest, looks good, etc. My least favorite has been to sew them together mainly because of deciding how much yarn to begin with so that it doesn’t look frayed by the time I run out and then having to weave an end. Well ta-da, you solved the problem. That little magic knot never crossed my mind. Thank you for this tutorial and I will sew these squares together and think of B. Hooked each time I join from now on.
doing my first-ever granny squares, and it is time to join them I thought I was about to embark on a challenging journey, and I am happy to know that I can make it simple and keep it looking good until I can challenge myself in the future. thank you for the video
Thank you, so much for this great tutorial. I'm doing a granny square project for the first time and I passed the hurdles of making the squares and getting all of the ends weaved in. I have just successfully joined the first 4 squares of a 60 square Christmas tree skirt.
I just learned how to make granny squares and this is amazing! Thank you so much! I was super worried about how I was gonna join them and make them look nice for what I'm doing
Thank you for this, very easy to follow and to the point! I'm making my first blanket and as I'm approaching finishing all my granny squares I was getting nervous that I wouldn't understand how to put them together!
@edpurponly Blocking is when, thought either moisture or heat, you can manipulate the fiber of a project to be a certain shape or size. Usually it so the yarn doesn't curl in on itself.
Hi Brittany….Wow this is a much easier way and it looks so good. I haven’t done granny squares in a very long time bc I hate joining them. I also watched your tip video on how to make the squares even all around. Love your granny squares….they are so pretty!! I love my Tshirt & can’t wait to see your next design. 🙌🙌 Have a great evening!😊🧶🦋
I need to go get a prepaid visa to join I'm not putting any of my cards online any more. Too much hacking. Anyway. Need to join 8 granny squares. 4 in the front. 4 in the back. Makes a guy type bucket hat. So adorable. Made the granny squares, just didn't think it was gonna be so hard to join them. Gonna watch this video. It looks like your stitch that joins the squares. Gonna try.❤
Thanks for the video ❤ is it better to join them in groups as you do or wait until all are done and join them at the end? What is the proper way to do it ? Thank you ❤
I am having trouble finding the written instructions you refer to in your helpful video about joining granny squares with an invisible seam. Please help. Also, it's unclear to me (perhaps you address this in the written instructions?) where you begin. In the corners?
So I have 18 granny squares to connect. They're going to become a handbag and the yarn is thick cotton cord. I 've never done this before, so my question: Do I have to block them first?
It's similar to the mattress stitch (that's the second of the two ways you can do this join), but not quite the same. I find that my seam looks so much better with the back loop method like this than the mattress seam.
I am knew to crocheting this seam to be the easiest but to work with four square at at time and then join all them I need help like staring with white and then color and back to white and then color then white again all way out
The flipping back and forth from your face to the instructions is not a good method for a crochet video, I'm here to learn crochet, not circle back to view a beauty contest and the camera is too far away, it also sounds like you are speaking quickly like a sales pitch 🤓 💙🕊️🍵 Have a peaceful day everyone
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. I truly appreciate honest feedback from my viewers as it helps me improve the content and create better learning experiences. I apologize if switching camera angles made this video less helpful for you. I understand that different people prefer various teaching styles, and I'll definitely take your suggestion into consideration for my future videos. Regarding the comment about the camera angle, I want to clarify that showing my face is not to turn it into a beauty contest or to showcase how I look. It's simply because I believe in providing a more personable experience for my audience. My goal has always been to create a personal and engaging atmosphere, where learners can feel connected to the person behind the tutorial. Your feedback highlights areas where I can make improvements, and I'll certainly work on enhancing the video and audio aspects to create a better learning environment for everyone. Once again, thank you for your valuable input. It will undoubtedly help me grow as a content creator and crochet instructor.
@@bhookedcrochet thank you, I'm glad I can help, to have a more personable experience means different things to different people, I for example learn better with a soothing cheerful voice, a person's face is distracting from my thought process of learning, take a blind person for example their personal experience would likely be based on the timbre of the voice 🕊️
I have no problems with the squares, but the seaming is my big problem. This is fantastic, thank you!
Happy to help!

thats a good idea to just sit and make granny squares - then figure out what to do with them later!
Thank you so much. This is the hardest part for me. I avoid squares for this reason, but now I have no excuse! 💕💕💕
Yes!! It's quick and easy 🙃

I’m still a beginner to crochet and I absolutely love your channel - thank you so much for these videos - they help so much
Thanks! Love your tutorials and I got inspired to make socks from one of your patterns :) ❤
Thank you so much, Diana! Your support means the world to me 💙💙

You are the best. I love the idea of using the needle instead of the hook.
I will be happy 😃 putting my squares together now.

Hi Brittany. Great joining tutorial! Your squares always look so perfect! Thanks for sharing!❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Joining lots of squares is going to be tedious no matter what, but I found this method quick and easy, and makes a very nice looking join. Thank you!
Goodness, I wish I had seen this video before I started whip stitching my squares together! Your method looks much nicer. Thanks for sharing :)
Wonderfully detailed explanation for a newbie, great closeups. Thank you so much!

Tote bags are easier
Your work is so beautiful, I'm inspired every time I see something you've made.
Thank you. After 12 videos I have the answer
I love this so much! I love crocheting granny squares, but every time I start to put them together, I say I’m never doing it again. Lol
Excellent and quick tutorial, thank you for this! :) Now onto joining my squares!
I LOVE the color combination of those squares!!
How do you fasten off the corners of the squares?
This is going to make such a difference. I hate joining squares and this with your perfect squares tip will make it so much better. Thanks
Absolutely love love love your colour combinations
How are you corners so pointy and perfect my squares have rounded corners 😭😭
Did you block your squares?
They probably blocked theirs
Yes, blocking is the way to go!
@@paola2952what does this mean?
@edpurponly Blocking is when, thought either moisture or heat, you can manipulate the fiber of a project to be a certain shape or size. Usually it so the yarn doesn't curl in on itself.

This might just be the sign you need to start a new granny square project!
I'm so glad you're lovin' your tee!! Thank you so much for your support 💙
I really like how you explained it. Thank you very very much from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 🤍
Exactly the tutorial I needed! Perfect timing 👌☺️
I always whip stitched. This is a great alternative.
This is great! I am planning to use your join for granny squares. Thanks!!!
What do you do with the ends? Do you tie them in a knot then weave them in?
I just tie a knot when I'm done with the row and then cut and weave on.
What if u have 96 pieces of granny square to connect!
How do u connect with one another?!
The same way, I assume. I have 104 squares to sew together for my first blanket.🤯🤯
@@Spoke76I have 194💀
368 for my temperature blanket💀
This was easy to understand, but I wish there was more info on how to start and end. This was just how to do the basic joining stitch itself.

Thank you this video was so helpful ❤
Thanks so much for the info and demostration
Thank you so much , for years I wanted to make granny square blankets. Just didn't know how to connect them all, it was so confusing for me
I love your videos soooo much thank you for all the helpful tips!
I haven't made granny squares yet😮. That's why I've been watching your series on them! THANKS for all of the fantastic tips, tricks and strategies!😊
Happy to help! You can do so many fun things with them 😄
Thank you. Its pretty easy peasy😊
Are you working with the granny squares as you made them or did you add a border of single crochets around the perimeter?
Very useful and well done Thank you 🙏
I always love watching your tutorials, even if I know what you are teaching! 🫶🏼
That makes me so happy to read! I'm so glad you like them! 💙💙
And then do you just weave the ends or how to fasten off once the seam is done?
Thanks for sharing!
I am having trouble finding the written instructions you refer to in your helpful video about joining granny squares with an invisible seam. Please help. Also, it's unclear to me (perhaps you address this in the written instructions?) where you begin. In the corners?
When you join the corners of the squares you use the space of the 2 chains or the chain itself?
What do you do when all your granny squares are random colours 😫 would it still look ok to use a random colour?
thanks😀
Brilliant. Thank you so much
Do you block each square prior to joining ? How does that work with join as you go ?
Do you just sew in the ends when you’re finished ?
Thank you so much

I 've never done this before, so my question:

Thank you ❣️😻. Is this the mattress stitch? Plus I noticed you pulled the ends to stretch?
She pulled the ends to tighten the stitches.
It's similar to the mattress stitch (that's the second of the two ways you can do this join), but not quite the same. I find that my seam looks so much better with the back loop method like this than the mattress seam.
@@bhookedcrochet Is this way of only using one loop just as strong as using all loops?
I can see how it would make sense that two loops are stronger than one. I've personally never had issues with using only one loop though!
@@bhookedcrochet good to know, thanks 😊
Hi Brittany, actually I don’t know how to weave in last
I am knew to crocheting this seam to be the easiest but to work with four square at at time and then join all them I need help like staring with white and then color and back to white and then color then white again all way out
I have over 300 small (4") granny sqs to connect....this does seem the quickest and fastest - especially if it is multi-colored.
Im having trouble getting the spacing right as they slide along the joining thread and bunch up!
Thank you
Please teach us why crochet gets curly. How to fix it.
Does this work if you’re doing a bag?
If you are joining different colour squares how do you choose a colour to join them all together?
Did you say "right sides together"? So you really are working in the back half of the stitches...😮
How to secure at beginning and end.?
Why can I not find a video of finishing them
I'm making a Granny square blanket for my boyfriend, but some of the granny squares are about an inch shorter than others... how do i join them?
Can you show us how to do that not in slow motion
I dont care if it is technically incorrect, I will always be referring to it as the front loop because thats what I am looking at from that side 😂😭
is this a durable way to join squares ?????
thank you but i would appreciate it if when stitching you couid go slower. Hard to tell you go so fast.

I must be stupid. I cannot get my stitches to line up. This is not as easy as it seems. Are you simply using a darning needle?
Magic knot fails me constantly, so I've learned not to trust it.
