- Indisputable, correct tier list for the Warrior of Light's hotness over time by expansion. Although everybody has different tastes. Tell me why mine is cringe and wrong, then give me the correct rankings in the comments :)

No, I will not elaborate on this. But I will take arguments over where he truly belongs.

EW WoL is hot in a traumatized way. He’s disheveled because he’s carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, he’s weary and at the end of his tether, but forging ahead as is his duty.
He wears the mantle of the hero, the armor of a paladin, but he’s so broken up inside that he can’t show it in any way but with a grim determination to protect those that her cares about.
He faces the apocalypse unflinching, ready to defend all of creation and give his everything to saving the world. And that is, in fact, hot.

i find cute how he wears the same cloak he has since HW on EW and DT makes me think that it has a lot of sentimental value. has been through thick and thin, tattered and seen better days. Beloved so much that he's willing to just mend it every time it's torn.

idk how people can complain about the lightheartedness of the dawntrail trailers. it feels so good to see not only the wol but the rest of the scions just hanging loose after their hard work just LOOK at that smile 😭
True, I don't see a game needs to be all dread and gloom all the time to be fun, come on, let loose a bit! After what WoL and others have been through, they deserved it!
We also don't have much setup right now to warant dire vibes in the trailer.
Maybe if the 13th was the focus of the expansion but not sure I could stomach a whole expansion of that place
EW slander is crazy. The world is ending and it’s up to him to save it, he don’t got shit to smile about. To me that shot of him standing in front of the planet is the hope he’s supposed to represent. He stands between the star and the end with the light of his world as his back 😤
As a closeted Meteor simp I saw the title and thumbnail and my first thought was "Is this a personal attack by the youtube algorithm?"

Personally I think EW wol is the hottest, the fact that he's kinda pissed and tired of everything makes it better for me
its a bit unfair for the End Walker version. there is a reason between the contrast of an angry and bitter Paladin. he feel like he need to save the world. he want to save the world, yet he feel betrayed, by Hydalin, by the very people he is trying to save. but he must press on, because he is the warrior of light. at that point, he feel like his responsibility is more of a burden and a curse, more than ever before, that is why is is so angry and bitter even as a Paladin.
this pay off in the subsequence trailer of Dawn Trail when he no longer feel the weight of responsibility and is now final free of burden. he returned to his old self, an adventure, while carry the experience he learn though out the year.

"feel" betrayed by Hydalin. she simply did not telling them the whole truth, about literally everything. asking them to go on quest that have no end in sight, for reason unknown. anyone will feel betrayed. furthermore, after Shadow Bringer, they learn so much more from people they consider enemies than Hydalin herself.

@@LostWallet I didn't feel that when doing the msq though so probably it's different for each person. never doubt Hydalyn myself because I know my character is not controlled by hydalyn the way other primals control their followers. i still have my free will. If she really try to deceive you it would be easier just controll you herself but she didn't do it. Emet exposed her to be primal so what ? Zodiark is primal too and they still worship him so yeah more of a pot call the kettle black for me. I didn't fall for his talk but seem like yoy did

What an incredible video. I went through such a whiplash of agreeing so hard on Monk WoL and disagreeing so hard on Paladin WoL. Riveting, an emotional rollercoaster, 10/10 would ride again.

@@collapsedlung_ if youre in english speaking fandom spaces hes usually referred to as meteor when talking about him as a character rather than warrior of light (general) - other languages have their own names for him but thats the generally accepted one for him in english

This is the most important tier list video for FFXIV. Personally, every Meteor from SB and beyond is top tier for me but my personal favorite is ShB Meteor, amplified by how WoL-centric ShB's story was.

You see, since I saw the first trailer back in 2010 I fell in love with WOL and the game in general, I have been obsessed with the game even since no one liked it... The point is that I liked WOL so much that one day I saw the actor Matthew Daddario and I started to like him only because his physiognomy resembled the character in the game... Now I'm also obsessed with the actor 😊🥰🥰♥
Samurai Meteor for me is a B tier, or A tier at best. What keeps him from going higher may be the choice of hair. The cool factor and slightly grizzled look is why he deserves higher than a D.
Shadowbringers had me mildly parched, Endwalker had me heating up and now I'm very thirsty for Dawntrail dilflander.

ironically stormblood samurai WOL is the most iconic and badass he's acted for me. Over the top yes, but thats actually the point since storm blood was when i personally feel they went into their proverbial bag and pulled out what is essentially the blueprints for their fight design going forward.
D tier Samurai? Nah. SAM WoL is no less than B
I suspect I know what choice Meteor chose at the end of Endwalker tbh - given his newfound passion and everything? I bet he enjoyed that final fight just as much as his foe (being vague to avoid spoilers)
Gonna be honest, I'm NOT digging his new longer hair look in Dawntrail. Think peak hotness was the Monk look in Stormblood, but I also really enjoyed his look in Endwalker too, the facial hair really did its work. But yea Dawntrail gets the D tier for me, Endwalker and Stormblood Monk get S tier.
Personal thoughts...
He goes from cute to handsome. Hottest in MNK form. EW and SHB I find him good looking, but going into DT he just looks more mature... which means (to me) not exactly hot, but still attractive.

stormblood (samurai) = heavensward (both so refined and edgy)

endwalker = monk (too serious and too unserious for me personally)
arr (most vanilla character wise, also maybe a little too confident)
I place DRK & VPR WoLs in S tier.

My warrior of light is the twink bunny, of course he is.
Now THIS is quality content and besides EW wol i agree. And stormblood having sharing a tier with SHB and D tier really shows how good it was in patch content and how horrible the release of it was. And yes DT wol is that sexy dante like adventure with no burdens or care in the world. I hope we get hair like that in game if not already
Only things I'll fight on is that the samurai at least deserve to be love the scruffiness love the attitude that's going on, whereas the monk can probably be more in the A though. He's kind of got man w**** vibes which just turns it off for me.
When it comes to the paladin I get where you're coming from so I will politely disagree. But I do love the sort of badass here to do business look. The paladin has that the end of the world is coming and he's not going to waver from it however, he doesn't have the entire aura and sort of show off the darkness that the Dark Knight gives off. I do kind of see a very grand hero vibe coming off him though I do get them. The more somber expression doesn't really work with the paladin aesthetic per se
I mean...I literally main as Warrior of Light. So I can come at this from an entirely unbiased opinion......

Y'know, the events of ARR through Endwalker take something like one year in total to complete. But the WoL seems to be aging in the cinematics. Honestly, I think more time should be allowed to pass to get a feel for how the world changes and grows over time, but I guess they don't want to age up the twins...

You're trippin. 1.0 is D tier, Warrior is C tier, Dragoon is A tier, Monk is C tier, Samurai is B tier, Dark Knight is A tier, Paladin is B tier and Viper is S tier. I did have DRK as S tier at first too, but that was just cause of how he man handles a big sword with one hand and not the aesthetics of the character

No. The *canonical* Adbert-looking Warrior of Light is not hot. He's basic. He is boring.

He is probably hot in JP standards. I know they are trying the best to get out of JP neutral male figures but I never liked that hair across the series. Hair is typically long and down..the stormblood monk is probably the most close to western standards. The worst is endwalker. That’s like a homeless dude on the streets
