  • Clive's RICOH GR III Diary Series. Episode 4 - The Positive Film Review
On this video I will review and share my sample pictures using the Image control; the colour positive. I will review its camera operations, colours and its effect to skin tones.
Please note, that this is my first attempt to try my own recipe. Therefore, it's not always perfect and up to now, I am still learning and tweaking my settings. I will get there at some point. It's just a matter of time, that I will be very confident in using this camera.
    Hope you enjoy this video.

Wow! I'm surprised because after several years using the GR III and several sessions diving into computer screen and smartphone screen I've landed to my own positive recipe for street photography and it's almost exactly the same you show here. The only difference is i set Saturation +3 all of the rest is the same. For people purposes I usually shot with Saturation +1 and higher exposure.
The only thing I don't like of positive film is how it renders yellows, i would love more vibrant yellows but sometimes i only adjust them in post production when I need yellow to pop.

Wow man what a coincidence! Yeah i agree with you on the colour positive. Yeah its also a good tip to reduce the saturation for people. It does saturate the red/ pink colour on the skin tone for fair complexion and it tans subjects with darker skin tones. Using the ricoh gr3 - i shoot raw mostly these days and ill just edit the pics on Lightroom. If i decide to add the image control as a base, i can do so in Lightroom.
Thanks for your input. It’s good to hear some feedback from other photographers. 😎
