Hey, I was fairly new using the GRIII at this stage. This was set in auto I believe. But now I normally set my WB between 5500-6500. Really dependent on how it looks and how cool or warm I want it to be.

Couldn't agree more! You are spot on on that. Ricoh has to take notes for the next model. For this trip I mainly use one camera to take both pictures and videos. It’s such a faff to take pictures on one cam and videos from another camera. I just challenged myself here to just make do and get on with it. :)

Hi, sorry for not getting back to you quick. I really don't know if there's any helpful advice I can give you as there are not much settings to play around with the camera. It is a point and shoot camera and it should autofocus. But if there's one thing I can say, I had blurry shots as well on these batches and I noticed shots tend to get blurry when you're shooting at a closer distance / close up shots. I suggest try maintaining a good distance from your subject. Too close, can lead to blurry images. Hope this helps.

Yes thank you for mentioning. I could have worded it differently. :) i stand corrected. But what I was thinking is the immersive experience of literally zooming in and out rather than a crop zoom type. This may not appeal to everyone. But yes thanks for mentioning this. You’re a genius.

I don’t have much experience with the Griiix. I would be interested to get ng hands on it and try it. But wont be buying another Gr as its too expensive. But maybe Ill check out if I can barrow or loan it to see what its like.

Hey mate. Need to check out. It’s really hard to tell the ISO on the GRIII as you are adjusting it based on exposure compensation rather than adjusting the ISO when comparing it to the mirrorless cameras. But bear with Ill have a proper look don’t know it on too of my head.

Hey mate just had a look. As i have guessed you won’t be able to see the ISO on this camera. Adjustments are literally based on EV compensation that’s between -2 and 2+ adjustment. No ISO setting specific to adjusting for the video. Hence this is a hit of a tricky camera to use.

@@clivezon how do you feel to not be able to adjust iso? can you achieve the same result by adjusting ev compensation?

@@lunabeigeits not ideal. Very limiting as to how much you can do. But I have tried this camera at night and the video quality post edit isnt that bad. Here’s a full video of the night shot I have done using this camera when I went to Disneyland paris. I mean the quality is not terrible. Hi mate, i could not fully remember what settings I used for this shoot. But If I recall. I don’t think I did make any massive settings here. Kelvin was set to around 5600-6000. Then I used a 1/8 diffusion filter. No image control. Colour graded using an editing software called Filmora. But pretty much same as premiere pro. Basic colour adjustments really with the shadows, highlights, saturation, contrast etc.

Cheers. Its not the great camera for video. But its deffo not impossible to create video content from.

I agree with you on this. The colour science of the camera is great already. But the whole video feature isn’t quite there yet. I’m sure Ricoh will drop a perfect hybrid camera in the near future.

Completely agree with you on this. Like I said on this video.. If I have no choice to use the video of the RICOH GRIII, then by all means I will try to get creative and some decent shots, which again is not impossible. Also, few technical difficulties were corrected post production such as the stabilisation. So its not the end of the world if it gets too shaky on shoot as you can amend on the editing process. But yes! Ricoh should improve the video feature to make this a perfect hybrid camera. 📸

@@clivezon if the camera can record gyro data with ibis turned off it would give it gimball-like footage

@@cheesedrinkal i agree 100%. I’m sure it’s a product that is already on the works. It’s only a matter of time RICOH will release a camera that will be a great hybrid camera. We shall see.

You should try the video feature. It’s not great don’t get me wrong. But it’s something. You can be creative with it and it does give a certain look to a concept. The picture no doubt is a great feature of this camera. I’ll be posting a video soon about the video quality of the RICOH GRiii I also have some few sample videos as well on this channel. Hey yes. Colour base will be the colour positive and slight adjustments to shadows, highlights, contrast, saturation etc. so not so much heavy correction going on here. Hope that helps.

Apart from the aesthetics. I don’t think there’s anything else major mate. Pretty much what’s on the diary edition is already available on the other versions. But I do love this camera. The more I use it the more it grows into you.

Wow man what a coincidence! Yeah i agree with you on the colour positive. Yeah its also a good tip to reduce the saturation for people. It does saturate the red/ pink colour on the skin tone for fair complexion and it tans subjects with darker skin tones. Using the ricoh gr3 - i shoot raw mostly these days and ill just edit the pics on Lightroom. If i decide to add the image control as a base, i can do so in Lightroom. Thanks for your input. Hey, yes I slightly enhanced the image by adjusting the exposure and some minor changes to the saturation and contrast to pop the colours a bit more. But apart from that there's no major changes to these images.

Ahh thanks, It's really hard to tell with films if your images are taken well until they come out of production. It it helps, I sent over my films to a third party film processing companies and they did the processing and scanning for me. I don't know how to do it myself. But if you like processing your own films, have a go at different films, and see if the issue is consistent. It is a very nice camera I must say and the shots do look great. With editing softwares, they can look more amazing.@@_m0zzie952

Yes.. in Lightroom when editing the pictures you can see the different picture profiles or image control then you can apply it from there. Or if you want to edit using the RICOH GRIII camera raw development feature, It has to be RAW.

Not sure why that is. But hope you managed to sort it out eventually. If not i find that the glitches and errors from the software is that if you are not up to date with the version. So make sure you are updated with the new version.

@@clivezon i have the text get highlighted but if I type nothing happens. If I back space it takes it off the timeline. I just downloaded it so I do have the latest version. I'll keep playing with it.
