      quick question: How high are your walls? and what is the ceiling height? I am thinking the ceiling is open, so even if the walls are 9 ft, there would be clearance in the ceiling for the lift. I'm planning to pull the trigger on a 20 x 26 2-car garage/steel A-frame building. I want to install a 2-post car lift that requires a 12ft ceiling. Can I get away with a 9 foot wall or do I have to go with a 10- or 12-foot wall option?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  3 года назад

      12' in the corners. Overall probably 14'-15' in the middle. I'd just check with the manufacturer of the lift. Also depends on the kind of cars you're working on. The ones I like are small. It would easily have fit with a smaller height.

    Just trying to get answer to my transmission /.clutch replacement. Anyways, removed the transmission to change the worn input shaft bearing, replaced clutch, throwout bearing/spring, flywheel, rear main oil seal. Put everything back, tried to start it but it's revving trying to turn over and there's this sound like something hitting a plastic container or something. It only happens after the engine is trying to crank up. Then, boom, not too low but sounds like hitting a plastic container as I am sitting inside my car. Battery is brand new. Adjusted the clutch cable per ErictheCarGuy. Followed your transmission removal video as a guide. Thanks for your help.

    Keep up the good work! If I may, I have a recommendation for your work space. Listening (not watching) your videos, I notice a lot of echo, slap back noise in the garage. It might be on your “to do” list all ready, but if you could do some acoustic treatment, you’ll reduce a lot of ear fatigue. When the air gun, air hammer and even the normal use of the air compressor gets going, it could really be annoying. In my garage, with inside metal walls, the top 4 feet are stippled with holes that soak up some annoying frequencies. I’ve also hung banners, all over, similar to what you have on the upper back wall, which help a lot! Just some thoughts with the goal of only wanting to be of help...enjoy the new garage! Rob

I have a 4/2/1 exhausted manifold on my car, but my fan is in the way for the O2 sensor. So what I did was rout the O2 to the secondary location of the exhaust. But driving it for about 30min a check engine light came on and was wondering if it could be me routing the O2 sensor on the bottom end of my exhaust. My ecu is flashing what I want to believe is a code 1, but it's so damn hard to read the codes to know what it really is.

    You should have sealed it the day they built it? Big fan but com'on man lol that's shed/garage 101. You're going to get hornet or bees nests some day and that will be why, no seal. Only openings should be controlled - Meshed vents or filtered vents that can be cleaned or replaced easily. Gluck

      Life didn't work out that way. We had a baby the next day after electrical was finished back on October 8th and with work/life I don't have frequent time to be outside more than 1 day a week if I'm lucky. I had plans of how I wanted to finish it but have never owned a structure of this magnitude and therefore was unaware of the gaps/openings. It's fixed now, shouldn't pose much of a problem in the future either.

    I don't think they built yours well, I have a similar one and it doesn't have the gaps you do. I used spray foam on the corners.

      It is what it is, I'm happy still. They probably have a better built design for yours.
