This video provided an idea to stop water from getting under the base of a metal building that is built on a slab larger than the metal building. Thanks 👍🏽🤠 12/21/23 Have a Merry Christmas.
I agree! We created a another video with more details. I have been doing the M Seal with Polyurethane Sealant for a while and it works well. If your tubular building has already been installed, you can solve with polyurethane along the edge of your base rail and sheet metal but also with some custom trim. All depends on your specific situation! ruclips.net/video/5U4NSklai-Y/видео.htmlsi=K6KBwae98UWP30HL
Here it is: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RWYD46Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 You can find it and the sealant on the video description

Do you have any recommendations for the walk-through door as far as a chain or pneumatic device to keep the wind from taking the door and letting it fly open?
I added on to my grandfathers shop after he passed away by framing up under a lean to section of his shop. I used treated wood, did your typical 16 inch frame up and then attached metal sheets to that. I did one room in drywall and noticed water seeping in at the bottom and now it's gotten moldy... What do you guys do to seal the bottom to prevent water from coming in? Do I need to silicone the bottom of the 2x4's on the inside and outside? I just cut the metal to match the top and bottom of 2x4 frame and screwed it in. I'm sure thats all wrong but it was my first "construction project" and it's not meant to be fancy but I'd like to seal it up so I don't have anymore leaks coming in. I can see the water saturating the concrete on the bottom. Thanks for the help in advance.
The best work you can possibly do is outside the metal building. Reach out to me at adbeel@wolfsteelbuildings.com and let me try to help you with your situation. I am going ask for pictures.
Adbeel, thanks for the response and I'm going to get some of the M-seal. Do you think the metal building crew would mind attaching the M-seal under the tube base before they fastenn everything up? I'm going to emphasize that they do that for my base panels as well as the panels leading to the overhead doors. I'm having a 32x50 metal building installed in January so I'm going to purchase the M-seal ahead of time. What threshhold strip did you use for under the lip of your overhead doors? I will have 4 overhead doors in my building (three 10x8 doors and one 10x10 door). In advance, thanks for your response. 👍🏽🤠 12/22/23
If you ask the crew usually they are open to adding it! I don’t believe they will charge an additional fee but they might (heads up)! Here is a short on the threshold! So how does one stop flooding after the building was already built? Can the building be lifted and the rubber/foam seal installed underneath the base rail?
Great Question Aaron! Adbeel is responding to your email you sent him (: To answer your question lifting the building is not a cost effective way to achieve this. Adbeel breaks down several things you can do like: - Redirecting water - Installing poly sealant - Installing base trim Check out the email for details on these
I need to know this too. we are assuming the qater us coming from the windows since the only places we've had leaks is where windows are. But now it's getting worse. we gave drywall up and have luved here 2cyrs and can't find help.
Can be done but not as affective and you may need to periodically reapply. Make sure to also cover your control joints as water can puddle in through there (if this is your issue).
my 18x25 building was built last fall. The pad is about 8" too wide on the sides on back. I have been struggling with water seeping under the base rail. I have tried all sorts of caulk. Will the polyurethane caulk you used in this video stop that water? Do i seal on the inside only?
Unfortunately polyurethane may work or may not work all depending on how level your concrete is. polyurethane is best to apply before the base rail was set. Best, I can recommend right now is to work with your concrete contractor. They usually have ideas on how to help solve that issue.

Can I use the polyurethane alone without the weather strip?
Can be done but not as affective and you may need to periodically reapply.
