I got 2 atvs( china made) i traded for nd i havent been able to get them rollen 100% but ive been watching to try n learn...btw whats running rich mean..thanks
Running rich means the carb putting too much fuel into the mixture with air. That is corrected by adjusting mixture. Counterclockwise I believe. Short story is an engine needs correct compression, air:fuel ratio, and spark to run. Breaking that triangle causes problems.
Gas,and battery??!!!!!this does not belong in the repair section this belongs in the quad repair for dummies 101 Department because I'm a dummy and I even know to check the gas and Battery thanks for reading and not reversing the charges
This is the same exact brand & quad i found in the trash. I fixed it up & it ran but it locked up & had enough oil sadly theres a reason it got thrown out
I just bought a used coolster atv and it started and ran fine. I decided to change the oil and inspect the spark plug and now it won’t start. It cranks and you can hear the starter spinning but it won’t start. Sounds like if you were trying to start it with the kill switch on. Please help?
I think this may be the case with my daughter's but can't find a "kill switch" the manual says it's by the starter button but there is no switch there. Where was the switch on yours?
@@ShayneHester Yeah, mine's on the top of the left handle, near where your thumb would be. Right above the ignition switch, (and above the headlight switch if you have any on yours) but on the top of the handle if that makes sense.
@@DarylEdgecombe thanks! Her's doesn't have a kill switch that I can find but I figured it out. It was the fuse right off the battery under the seat. 👍
My ATV cranks and turns over but won't start I changed the carburetor and that didn't work as well I'm not sure if it's a safety feature or how to test the kill switch if it's broken or not
Check fuel filter to see if it’s clogged. Check fuel level in carb bowl , right after it dies on you, by opening the carb bowl drain screw. If no gas flows out the carb drain, then you have fuel problems like sticky needle and seat, clogged fuel filter, kinked fuel line, or gas cap not venting. Try running with gas cap removed. It it runs without dying then you need to clean the vent hole in the gas cap. If fuel to the carb is ok then it could be the ignition coil. Good luck!
My 2 stroke tron 50cc Chinese quad won’t start. I cleaned the carb, new gas, new spark plug, fuel lines good. Not sure anymore. I noticed it has an automatic choke and a oil line that goes to the carb. Can’t figure it out turns over but sounds like it’s choking.
I had this issue with mine, almost the same, my problem was the wires wernt connected to the starter relay/solenoid, check that, I ordered one but for now I start mine by touching the positive wire that connects to the battery to the negitive that was connected to the solenoid
I had the same problem this morning What my problem was the Remote key chain It has a kill switch on it you had the press and unlock button for it to work maybe
@@alanimichelle3766 It probably means you need to replace the starter solenoid. The starter solenoid completes the circuit between the battery and the starter motor. One thing you could try is shorting out the 2 big metal terminals on the starter solenoid. If the battery is charged and the starter motor works, this will crank the engine over. Then you know the solenoid needs replacing :) There are lots of videos on YT about this kind of thing, so have a look... :)
Same issue, did you ever figure it out? Try to adjust the little Phillips screw on your carb by turning a quarter turn in or out at a time, mine wasn’t doing that before I adjusted the carb but before I adjusted it, it was backfiring so. I’m gonna replace my carb

when i go to start my ATV with the starter i hear a click and then again when i let go, i dont even think its trying to start, help?

Mine won’t run but for like five minutes but when you start it I automatically go without pressing the gas and if you hit the break it cuts off

Does the break have to be engaged to start it? My Baja 125 has a brand new battery but won’t crank or anything.

My one is cranking but not starting I have cleaned the carb and cleaned the spark plug and the battery is charged what do I do
same here brand new carb brand new wiring harness cranks but no start!

Joey, so it was just a bad battery n no gas. The scooter vid on no spark was a bit more informative.
Mine had fire, spark etc. lots of spark. But still wouldn’t run. I cleaned plug and she runs like a champ. Just wasn’t enough.
Can the break stop the engine from turn over and the fly wheel from spring

How about if you can hear it trying to start, but it doesn’t fully start if that makes sense? I’ve been at it all morning!

Did you get there in the end? Were you hearing the starter solenoid clicking without the starter actually cranking the engine?
