- I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Enchantress 8-Beans, a deck from Patreon subscriber Pedro. Pedro recognized that drawing cards rules and that much of the Up The Beanstalk core package are enchantments. Argothian Enchantress is also a 1G cost engine that draws cards. If we play 8 of these, we can start drawing tons of cards right on time every game! Leyline Binding, Shark Typhoon, and Fable of the Mirror Breaker play control and Enchantress beautifully. Hey Brian, thanks for playing my brew. It was an exciting league. I am still deciding which deck to bring to my next paper tournament and maybe it will be this one. I have been playing with Uro in the side, a single Fable, 2 eorlingas, and 2 dress downs in the main deck. It's basically important to survive early game and find a way around orcish bowmasters. Otherwise, the deck feels quite smooth and fun. What moves me away from this deck is perfectly shown by the length of this video. ;)
Great deck to get Brian to hardcast Shark Typhoon.
Jokes aside though, sweet deck.

I'm 6 minutes in and this managing to be a nearly 2 hour league despite the first round being almost entirely skipped is an astonishing feat
20:20 Shark Typhoon is one of my favourite cards as it opens up a lot of cool plays and interactions. Here, you could have Plowed the Matron and holding priority Force the Plow pitching Brainstorm and Force the Plow again pitching Hydroblast getting an extra 10 power in play.

@@OnlyBadSalmon Pay 1 life is a cost on Force, not an effect. You lose the life the moment you cast it, it can't be prevented by forcing the other force.
We came for Enchantress Beans, what we got to see is hardcast Shark Typhoon. This, is a day to remember and pass on to generations!
I continue to be wildly upset that the current build of elves gets alternately called "Newton elves" or "Cradle Control", instead of the obviously superior alternative of "Newton's Cradle" 😁

It's pretty much a common line I take with this deck. I feel more comfortable with it than with a volcanic island and a brainstorm in my opening hand.
I love serra’s sanctum with all the beanstalks and leyline bindings that end up sitting in play. Sweet land here
When I saw "8 Beans", my first thought was Beanstalk + Satoru the Infiltrator + every pitch spell known to man. Like the Aspiringspike Cascade Beans deck that got Beanstalk banned in Modern.

This was sweet. There was a Vintage Enchantress deck in the early 2000s Vintage that this reminded me of. Got to play all the busted blue cards and high value enchantments. Not your typical draw-your-whole-deck Enchantress but also not a normal blue control deck.
Black, Red, Navy, Kidney, Pinto, Soy, Lima, Fava..... Oh wait! I was thinking of a different kind of 8 Beans. I must be hungry!
I'm always amazed by 4-5 colour decks playing Blood Moon. Like, I understand it, I just can't accept it I think. Also, I know it was a pain but it was lovely to see you try to win against Cloudpost.

Enchantress dosnt seem like the card you wanna put into your legacy deck. But a beans deck with some Serra's Sanctum and the good enchantments looks nice.

46:00 Did you consider cycling Shark Typhoon here? Just want to understand better when it's correct to cycle Shark Typhoon early for a small shark or no shark like here. Playing this myself I would have cycled it as I'm not doing anything else with the mana and I have plenty of ways to spend mana over the next few turns.
A person I know irl plays a similar deck to this, but with way greedier mana, so they chug copium and claim that "mana confluence isn't even that bad", despite losing every delver match up ever because of it.

For how many times it has felt like we’ve needed a top deck supreme verdict… should we be running an extra copy? It does pitch to force and solitude when it isn’t great.
It’s matchup dependent. Sometimes you play against delver and goblins, sometimes you play against doomsday and control mirrors.
I know it costs 1 more, which is a big difference, but was there any thought to Enchantress's Presence over Enchantress? Doesn't have negative synergy with Verdict, does have synergy with Typhoon, doesn't get tagged by edicts. I guess it gets tagged by FoN tho

I thought a lot about it when I was building this deck and decided not to build a yorion deck for many reasons: 1) circumventing the main weakness of enchantress (poor against fast combos) to then build an 80 card deck is not the best strategy; 2) this deck already draws a lot of cards, yorion feels less relevant than in other yorion decks. 3) I only play this deck in paper magic and I hate carrying and shuffling 80 card decks 4) I am not a bant player. I tend to play esper and grixis and I didnt want to mess around with a mana base that I understand less.
But well, the concept is there for other people to try. Go for it ;)
