For people that don't know, the feeling of being part of a crew and battling with a strong DJ and crowed, there's nothing like it. No what your skill level.
I'm an 80's bboy aged 53 and watching this has got me top-rocking in front of my lady in the living room.
Oh god I miss those days.
    Peace.

Definitely an Olympic event, but the only problem is that it would get too political. If the winning "purse" was too much, it would become too commercial (which happened in the 80s/90s). Artists still need to get paid for their work. BBoys are world class hustlers sacrificing their bodies to get the job done.

@@joecoupon8299 Yea well with talk and negotiations it could be handled and understood, what gets me its like these dancers to pay tribute to those that invented it and act as if it came from finland, or russia, or brazil, or japan, or where ever the hell these bighters got it from they need to holla at the origins for it once a while, its lke they stole something, made it better and act as if they created it, not cool and disrespectful to those that brought it created it and got it to TV making it one of the biggest creations in history that eventually died out in many places but still existed and avoided bloodshed. When i first saw it, it was the Puerto Ricans and Blacks doing it not kill each other and took away the guns and brought the DJ and then the DJ brought more intense rap that it became the billion dollar business it has become, so to me this is so ignored that it should be included in the conversations of these foreigners acting all cool and inventive when their not.

I'm a native NEW YORKER born & raised in the early 70's. I've seen this battle video a couple of times & just shake my head. This CREW was no way SKILLED enough to battle ROCKSTEADY. They looked sloppy in their appearance & the way they danced. ROCKSTEADY on the other hand came out out with no FEAR & were NOT second guessing their moves.

I started bboying in 1982 in the Uk & carried on for 34 years, & I'm shaking my head at your comments. The way a person gets better skilled is to test themselves against people of a higher skill level. We battled people with better skills until we matched them or crushed them. Would you battle the same crew week in week out if you wanted to get to a higher level? No. Anybody, who is a true bboy would never make such comments putting down a crew for battling a crew that is on a higher level. Bboys grew by testing themselves against better people.
