I used to be obsessed with posting on IG until I dramatically stopped last year. I never thought I could stay away from it for months but I successfully did and I'm glad to have experienced the amount of growth I've achieved as a person without it. I believe social media isn't all that bad if you know how to manage your time and understand that it's to be used for the purpose of short-term distraction only. Also, the constant need for validation and instant gratification needs to be dialed down if one wishes to quit social media and it's indeed possible. I mean, it's all make-believe and you know it! It's harder for people to stay away from social media when they don't have a life outside of it. That's definitely been my biggest lesson.
Yeah.. exactly!! I'm using fb and insta for a while without knowing the value of time, but now I'm trying to change the habit of using social media, and attained success to a certain extent!!❤️
I've noticed the screens changed too. When you're on a video it's so easy to go to the next one without even pressing play it just plays. Anyone who's watching it makes so much easier to stay on that video and the site.
The odd thing is often our reactions aren't even how we really feel. We might see someone happy and congratulate and "HEART" their pictures or status while secretly feeling sad, bitter, jealous etc.
2000% that's true, that's why I quit 1 year before, we act what we see our surroundings act like, that's terrible and what's even terrible is that there's only a handful of people that understands this, and keep themselves away from it.....
They're tryin' to put us on an emotional roller coaster & hoping we never get off, earning sweet bucks as we sway in the breeze of our own projections.
I had been watching all your videos since you were a 6 months old baby. 👶👶(Even earlier indeed). But in between I almost stopped because of this stupid online class thing. Today I got video as recommendation. I felt like I'm back again 13 year old who used to watch all your videos and surely like and comment on them. I wish I could be that 13 year old me.😭😭
When an funny content is being posted on Fscebook, Instagram and RUclips, I tend to enjoy that content the most on Facebook. It's because of this *special feature of Facebook where you can react with emojis* . So if a post gets more 'Haha' reactions, that post is more likely to seem funny to you bcoz it seemed funny to others, and you in turn may also react 'Haha' to it. That's how contagious these reactions are. I kinda don't like the fact how much of the Facebook audience is shifting to Instagram. Instagram is good platform to spend time on what looks attractive, but it's not that effective for funny contents. You can't post funny images in comments section as in Facebook, nor are there any Haha reactions to get an idea of how funny the content is.
The best investment is in yourself..about 99% of my time on the internet is for my benefit/ educational..1% if any is simply just to be amazed on how people can really be...then I quick get board/ busy and X out..I just don't have it in me to take some stranger, person miles away how I could invest into being intetested..it's actually a quick intertainment..😅
1:26 Exactly. That's what I was discussing with my friend from MIT Media Lab about technology. We are training people to become robot (and worsen our mental health conditions) while spending billions of $ to train robot become more human. How ridiculous this is!

Social media is more of psychology and sociology rather than technology, further social media is not a socializable media !

I have always believed social media is making people dumb

Right to the point!
Absolutely true 👍
Also.. .. people have started to behave in a very technical way like the emojis and stickers🙈🙂
It is. It makes me dull. But I just keep picking my phone again and again for no reason

The 2nd point - emotional inconsistency in timeline/feed is one of the reason social media makes us dull imo

The BBC only allow you to express yourself with one narrative though
