First part: • London Underground: Lo...
Second part: • London Underground: Lo...
This is the third and final part of my mini series regarding the Metropolitan Line.
While the previous two parts focused on the stretch between Finchley Road and Wembley Park, which the Metropolitan Line shares with the Jubilee Line, we are today in Metropolitan Line only territory.
Between Baker Street and Wembley Park the Metropolitan Line runs “express” while the Jubilee Line runs “local.” After Wembley Park the Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines diverge. However, some Metropolitan Line services continue skipping stops all the way up to Moor Park. In fact, there are so-called “fast” and “semi-fast” services, which either run express all the way to Moor Park or only until Harrow-on-the-Hill.
The film starts at Harrow-on-the-Hill, which is a major station on the line. Besides Metropolitan Line trains, there is again a brief glimpse of a Chiltern Railway service, which is headed to London Marylebone.
After Harrow-on-the-Hill we focus on Northwick Park and Preston Road Stations, which are only served by “local” (or officially “all-station”) Metropolitan Line trains.
The Metropolitan Line is entirely operated with S8 Stock, so this is the only London Underground stock featured in this film.
The footage was shot during an evening in the fall of October 2015 in beautiful sunset light.
    Enjoy!

An enjoyable collection, especially Part 3. Not very savvy young lady waiting on the Nbound platform at Preston Road. She let a Watford train go, so I assume she was aiming for a destination covered by an Amersham or Uxbridge service. But with fast and semi-fast services operating, she might have saved herself some time by catching the Watford train and changing at Harrow-on-the-Hill.

Lovely. Riding Northern Line south from Edgware or Burnt Oak at the end of a rainy day is also a beautiful site to behold.

if you are in a quiet place and you really listen to the metropolitan line it sounds a bit like the victoria line when it slows down and speeds up.

I grew up in Uxbridge and Hillingdon, then trained as a nurse at Ealing. Lots of fun trips out made me a London Underground nerd. Love this.

Not all trains stop at Wembley Park, stopping and semi-fast trains do, fast trains go past. Side note, fast trains can only go to Amersham or Chesham.

I love how in every video you make, there is always the word "quite" mentioned in the commentary.
