Been watching these videos for about a week now and just want to say thank you for making them! I’m a huge train fan and these videos are weirdly meditative and I love having them on while I’m working or studying for university!
Fascinating to see how the trespass incident had a knock-on effect at Acton Town. I also really like how you keep the passengers informed. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Lucky you are at a platform. Last time there was a signal failure at acton, i got held in the tunnel between pic circus and green park on a warm day. We are lucky because we got air con in the cab but the poor passengers had to sit for 20mins in the hot train.
Going so smoothly till the last 15 minutes. Thanks for keeping the waiting for a green bits in Dale, shows us what you haveto put up with. Very enjoyable as always.
I thought this might be the vid for the trespassers at Rayners Lane who graffitied your train. Just an update, BTP did apprehend the 3 trespassers at the car park👌
Thanks Dale for showing what happens when things don't go as clockwork. Hopefully this doesn't happen often! I go to London, 2-3 times a year, would be lost without the tube! Take care, all the best. 😊 👍
Dale, we know that you like the deep, dark, pipes. I can hear the excitement! Why do I love watching a dark screen with 1 or two signals only, and when I cannot see red or yellow colours? I think it's the movement into the unknown. Just me waffling on.
As a result of the initial delay, Dale was constantly driving up to red signals that turned green as he approached. That means that the trains were the minimum allowed distance apart. Put it another way, the line was running at maximum capacity. So paradoxically the passengers got a better service than normal with shorter waiting times on the platform. (Until the line exceeded its capacity and ground to a halt.)
Many thanks, Dale, for this look at the Piccadilly line during service disruption - I guess the maxim is to expect the unexpected! It took me back to a time when I travelled from Arnos Grove to Acton Town on a daily basis for several weeks, and it was not uncommon for trains to queue on the approach to Acton, though that was in the morning peak so it is perhaps slightly more likely then. I don't think we were ever "sat sitting" at any signal for quite as long as you were on this occasion! Pleased to hear that you've officially adopted the term "you lot" to refer to, erm... "us lot" - it's taken in the warm and friendly spirit in which it's intended 😊 Hope you're well, and that your knee and your back are behaving themselves!
Great video thanks for showing all the delays. "You lot" gets my vote 👍 Very impressed with way you keep your passengers informed to best of your ability.
I find it strangely relaxing watching at the last red before Acton - but then I'm not stuck on the train! I guess we've all been there (on BR or LT) crawling along or stuck outside a station, so this gives a really good insight into why problems can occur, albeit miles from the orioginal incident. Thanks for filming this Dale.
2:58 you're not wrong....haha XD Anyway I just found your channel since YT recommended it to me from watching lots of other cab view channels. NGL, there's something about Tube Trains that interest me specifically, the appeal of moving through a vast network of interweaving tunnels is awesome. Thanks for your time/effort making these videos! Subbed! :D
Funny, you should mention trespassers in the tube. Because on Saturday, the last day before I went to vacation. I had an unauthorized in the tunnels too, which held me up 40 minutes, and my lunch. It was my leader train ahead of me that encountered the unauthorized in the tunnel, and i'm being held back two stations away in Brooklyn and with the power cutoff from Control Center. Eventually, they got the guy out of the tunnel and arrested, and we was able to continue to Manhattan with delays, as you well know. Both of us know how things like that can suck!!😅😅😅
Sorry you had to endure these delays but it did make for a great video, I quite enjoyed the longer looks at the District Line stations and of course the running commentary as well. Glad to be part of your lot!
Nice video Dale, I like how you keep your passengers updated not only that there is a delay but WHY there is a delay, If I was one of your passengers I'd appreciate it!
Thanks for another insight into when things go wrong, they are always interesting to see. Not sure if that makes them more bearable for you but hopefully it is a silver lining. Fingers crossed your return east wasn't quite so bad.
People trespass on the Melbourne rail network too, especially the City Loop (an underground section in the CBD). There’s no traction current as all the trains are powered by overhead wires but the danger is still there. Bless you for trying to defend a position that doesn't need to be defended in regards to the shoutouts & this is not a criticism! It's very sweet of you honestly 😭 I feel like many would like a vocal shout-out, but let's be honest, you are in charge of a train with yourself & many others on board, therefore a lot of the time the job at hand is definitely more important. So I feel like you could potentially note down a name & comment that you could carry with you, in a sort of 'comment of the week' concept- anything that pops out to you whether be a question or birthday shoutout etc, and combine with on-screen shoutouts as well? Less stress for you, and everyone will feel like they've at least been seen. Idk if my essay was understandable but yeah much love Dale always love to spend Saturday evenings with you 😊
Thanks Dale - another superb evening travelling with you along the Piccadilly line 👍 Ps - thanks for the offer of the mint… one day I’ll take you up on it 🙃
1:09:51 You do great passanger annoucements, very polite and informative! When you are a passanger on a train that's held somewhere (in the dark), you always feel a little helpless. So it really helps, when somebody tells you what is going on. I wish all train staff would be so considerate. 🙂

4:12 taking it personal is normal. It can, if you pardon the pun, derail your entire day. And when it happens, all you can do is sit there and wait. Passengers can walk away. They can find some other way. People like you or I who work on the trains… we can’t. The subway line I work on here in New York, the M, has a roughly 1 hour 14 minute one way trip. Evening Dale, I am a few weeks into following your channel and I think it is great. I love the way you interact with”Us Lot”. Keep the vids coming. I think you are doing a great job!!🐷👍
Just watching the Hounslow West -T4-Arnos Grove vid. As a heavy rail train driver of 19 years and now a Driver Manager for same heavy rail company, I think that your T boards for speed restrictions is the same as heavy rail and is a Termination Board only the Tube version is white board and heavy rail is a yellow board. Might add still drive trains when I can. But that is few and far between now. I love to get a cab ride but I know how difficult they are to get these days so your vids are the best thing. Thank you Dale -Stevie Smith -Lincoln C.🐷👍
Another great video I can feel it, also would like a shout out if you want in the next video. Also I took a train ride yesterday in Australia and the train was moving so slow because of 2 trespassers (I think that’s what happened) on the tracks which was so annoying. Speed was like 10mph. Edit: was brompton road disused station always walled off when it was disused because I remember on my journey on the pic line in 2022, there was a disused station that we passed in the tunnel that wasn’t walled off and you could see inside the station. I took the pic line from Acton Town - Leicester Square btw. Do you know if that was the station?
here in Copenhagen when the timetable goes down the drain, they'll start skipping stations or reversing halfway to get back on schedule. When it's really bad they'll drop to 20 minute service (since all our trains normally run every 10 minutes), but because that involves sending drivers home and telling others to not bother showing up, it's something they only do as a last resort, also because they get charged for every train not running on time
I remember a time our Victoria line train got delayed because of what we thought was a red signal. The driver informed us it was because something fell onto the tracks at our next station.

I believe that to begin training as a tube driver you have to pass an aptitude test, which tests various things like fact retention, observation skills, attention to detail, problem solving,, etc. Anyone who is careless or cannot follow procedures would be unlikely to make the grade. So it's a bit more than academic skills.
You don’t need any qualifications. Some train companies will ask for GCSEs in things like English. As the relay says you have to pass several tests to become a train driver. I find them easy and I have no qualifications. It’s in dog those things you can either do or not do

Hello mister Dale.
Hi Dale. Always good to have a rant, why do people do this? They know they will get caught or kill themselves by touching the live rail! As long as there are idiots this will always happen! Thanks for your trip this week a really good inside view of when things go wrong😊❤
@@dalecharmantravels8057 HUH? I never said I hate the Piccadilly line, The Bakerloo Line is my favourite tube line, Piccadilly Line is my second favourite tube line Of course and I hate the central line…. In your opinion
Hi Dale. When I was on the buses if I was running late and had a long break I could still take it ( called taking a full meal relief ) or I could take 30 mins and put a docket in so I get paid for lost break time. Same with finishing late, if I finished 10 mins late would put in a docket for 10 mins overtime ( it adds up over a week/month ). Does the tube do anything similar? Anyway, thanks for video.
I remember work experience on the Jubilee line with an instructor , I remember driving the train it was so surreal. I drove the train better than his trainees. Shame they made it ATO, because driving manually was much more fun

Wouldn’t Dales lot sound better than Dales you lot🤣🤣🤣. I think I should have some merch made up saying some thing like a proud member of the you lot club 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t get why someone would want to trespass on the line. It’s bloody stupid, could get hit by a train, or fried by 600V DC. Just doesn’t add up to me.
Nice one Dale today I've been on the Central Line from TCR to Ruislip Gardens the piccadilly line should be more frequent between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge and Cockfosters and please can I have a shout out
Always interesting, and always with a knowledgeable and entertaining commentary, however, I am now desperate for a sugar-free mint (you missed my "yes please Dale,") and rural Cambridgeshire is not well supplied with suitable retail outlets or public transport on what is, for me, a Sunday evening.
Thanks Dale for another great video. I was going to ask if there was a method to your madness for your ridiculously long commute 🤪. Then I looked up property prices around Piccadilly Line depots. Question answered 🤯😫💷💷💷
What on earth would convince someone to enter a live tunnel with trains... unless of course they want to be a pancake or zapped by the 3rd rail. People on the tracks occasionally unfortunetly dont make it across... eliz line trains must be camera shy lol

From a passengers point of view it’s frustrating but it does make for interesting videos
I never been to London, I would love to visit one day.
I am guessing you only want to visit London to ride the Piccadilly line 🤣🤣
crazy intruders Dale....great content and thanks again
Hi Dale. Always good to have a rant, why do people do this? They know they will get caught or kill themselves by touching the live rail! As long as there are idiots this will always happen! Thanks for your trip this week a really good inside view of when things go wrong😊❤
Piccadilly line is my second favourite tube line
How dare you. 🤣🤣🤣. Pic is number one 🤣🤣🤣
@@dalecharmantravels8057 HUH? I never said I hate the Piccadilly line, The Bakerloo Line is my favourite tube line, Piccadilly Line is my second favourite tube line Of course and I hate the central line….
In your opinion
You redeem yourself with disliking the central line. I hate it if I have to travel on the central line. Luckily it’s very rare
Hello mate, I was up in London earlier this week visiting mates and I noticed it was a bit moist on the Piccadilly line. 🐟
It has been a little damp yes 🤣
A other fantastic video Dale. Just show how one person stupid though. Can put pressure on the train drivers and passengers
Whoop whoop! Another video! Feet up, snacks in hand
Finsbury Park backwards is krapy rubsnif. always makes me chuckle
Hello Dale, I enjoyed your latest video 🚇👍🚇
I remember work experience on the Jubilee line with an instructor , I remember driving the train it was so surreal. I drove the train better than his trainees. Shame they made it ATO, because driving manually was much more fun
42:22 Hi Dale, I think we faithful viewers should be called DYL’s (Dales You Lot). What do you think? You could always put the collective noun up to a vote for a laugh with a prize of a packet of mints for the winning name. Great video as usual. Cheers, Neil.
Wouldn’t Dales lot sound better than Dales you lot🤣🤣🤣. I think I should have some merch made up saying some thing like a proud member of the you lot club 🤣🤣🤣
Hey dale what made you choose the picadilly line?
I don’t get why someone would want to trespass on the line. It’s bloody stupid, could get hit by a train, or fried by 600V DC. Just doesn’t add up to me.
Nice one Dale today I've been on the Central Line from TCR to Ruislip Gardens the piccadilly line should be more frequent between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge and Cockfosters and please can I have a shout out
I will add your shout out next time I do them. I am some what behind on my shout outs so it may be a few weeks
@@dalecharmantravels8057 OK 20m speed restriction at Holborn
Thanks!
Thank you so much. I appreciate your support
Great video. Can we get a drivers' cab tour soon?
Thanks Dale for another great video. I was going to ask if there was a method to your madness for your ridiculously long commute 🤪. Then I looked up property prices around Piccadilly Line depots. Question answered 🤯😫💷💷💷
I’m not sure how any one can afford to live in London these days
Thanks
Thank you. Your support is appreciated
What on earth would convince someone to enter a live tunnel with trains... unless of course they want to be a pancake or zapped by the 3rd rail.
People on the tracks occasionally unfortunetly dont make it across...
eliz line trains must be camera shy lol
Attention seeking idiots that know full well the system will grind to a halt
Drinking too much then becoming intoxicated
Let´s take Darwin take care of this.
