    Just barely a month of focused GRE studies (after giving up on the GMAT), and I got 43 right, yippee ki-yay!
    Anyways, regarding cursory, I believe the root is the latin word "cursor", meaning "a runner", from "cursus, currere, curro", "running".
    So quick, hurried, hastily would be better fits vs fleeting, temporary. It literally means something is running.
    Other close words might be related (in my own thoughts, may be incorrect):
    1. Mouse/computer cursors,
    2. Courier, who, in the past, actually runs from place to place
    3. Precursor - forerunner, something that came before
    4. Course - Route/path to walk over
    all of which are closer to quick, hurried, run than to fleeting, temporary

    Hello Philip, thanks for your videos, I have gained a lot from them.
    Can I ask you what is the best source to build vocab that is enough to score 165+? My weakness is the vocab since English is my second language, I am going through Magoosh free app and I have already mastered 200 words so far but 1000 seems tedious and I am not sure how reliable this app is, like if those 1000 words actually do appear on the GRE exam. I am confident in Quantitative and Verbal RC, but Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence seems way difficult due to my lack of advanced words.

    • @TheTestedTutor
      @TheTestedTutor  4 года назад

      Have you seen all my vocab videos? I suggest loads of sites. Shouldn't be tedious, learning new words is exhilarating!
