I actually was touched by the scene where Jackie Chan shows the photo of the girl to the arms dealer, pleads that he doesn't want her to die, and immediately demands a name, and the guy caves. It shows that the arms dealer isn't completely heartless; and it was likely Jackie Chan's best acted scene in the movie.
That had to be my most favorite Jackie Chan line "I don't care about him, I don't care about you; I care about the little girl." He delivered it with such passion, I felt like that's how he is in real life about those he cares about.
I've been watching Jackie Chan films since the 80s so when i say that this and the sequels are a bit crap please know i do so with a heavy heart. I thought the first was one was good after the first watch. Didn't think much of the sequels on the first watch. I revisited them again recently and they are actually bad films. Most of the action scenes are terrible. The "jokes" are even worse.

Actually in California you did used to get a dial tone on land lines when someone hung up on you. I actually was touched by the scene where Jackie Chan shows the photo of the girl to the arms dealer, pleads that he doesn't want her to die, and immediately demands a name, and the guy caves.
It shows that the arms dealer isn't completely heartless; and it was likely Jackie Chan's best acted scene in the movie.
That had to be my most favorite Jackie Chan line

I've been watching Jackie Chan films since the 80s so when i say that this and the sequels are a bit crap please know i do so with a heavy heart. I thought the first was one was good after the first watch. Didn't think much of the sequels on the first watch. I revisited them again recently and they are actually bad films. Most of the action scenes are terrible. The "jokes" are even worse.

C4 won’t detonate with physical hits or fire. It is extremely safe and will mostly only detonate from the trigger.

You also have to create shaped charges and a dozen other uses where you have to mold it and add or subtract amounts. I was going to say this as well. But Hollywood has been screwing up explosives for a while now. Nearly every explosive in movies or TV is "C-4" but I don't remember a single one that portrayed it correctly. But instant high-explosive shockwaves don't look as good on film as incendiary fireballs.

Actually in California you did used to get a dial tone on land lines when someone hung up on you. Southern California had a different telephone system to the rest of the country because their services were independent of the Bell monopoly. I realize in this case we're talking about crashing the car (and later smoking a cigarette), but I think previously there was a discussion of shooting at the explosives. Definitely not a handgun, and even the speed of rifle rounds is half an order of magnitude lower than the explosive speed of something like det cord. There is actually a detailed answer to this question on Quora offered by a former military armorer. You'd have to hit the tiny explosive element inside of the detonator with a round of even having a chance of blowing it up with bullets. Basically, this stuff isn't like nitroglycerine. Crashing a car full of it comes with next to no risk of a detonation, and the same goes for gunshots and fire. You can even set C4 on fire and instead it simply burns quickly. My dad even told me stories from Vietnam where people from his regiment would spread C4 on the bottom of a can and light it to heat up their food.

This can be blood carrying dangerous pathogens or even bone fragments. And in my experience when you have the drop on someone like that, you have time to blink before losing your shot anyway. It's not like your missing much by not seeing the hole open up in their head.
