Fantastic wee thimble!! I love the trade weight also, I've found a few of them now, and proper social history too. Hoping for another rally soon in NI to meet up with yourself and everyone up there. Continued HH!
Wow Colin, I wonder if I could adopt your son!? 😂😂 what a wonderful gesture from your boy….you will love the D2 & will have a formidable arsenal of machines in your locker my friend. Some very cool finds there, and curious ones with the lead lozenges. The item at 13:40 had me really intrigued. The looped brass bit is often confused with a medieval sword hanger by many detectorists….but you’ve just proven it was more agricultural with the hook attached to it!! Some Nice weights & that thimble is an absolute ripper!! BIG bucket lister of mine mate. Congratulations! Another enjoyable episode mate 👏
Lol , yea Marcus a rather nice gesture from him indeed . I enjoyed that hunt myself , the usual crap , moo tubes and the like didn’t make the edit , but absolutely buzzing with the little thimble , the lead lozenges are still intriguing me , but I’ve an over active imagination at the best of times . Cheers mate HH Colin
Lovely wee thimble for sure Colin. 👍 Always loved collecting conkers, yours survived the recent wind nicely, my trees lost 90 % of it's young'uns unfortunately. 😕. ATB. Have a good bank holiday. 🥃 🍀
Lovely hunt. That silver thimble is beautiful. Its up in the top of my bucket list! Not long now until the 3 spires!!!! The deus will be a great update. Xp all the way.
Great stuff Colin, deadly wee thimble. Also the Deus 2 is my dream machine so I can't wait to get seeing it in action! - thanks for the shout out too haha crackin on!
Cheers Dan , appreciate you watching and commenting, funny the D2 was the machine that I was drawn to at the start but settled on the Legend for dipping the toe into the hobby , still getting used to the Legend even after a year . Interesting times ahead 👍🏻😁
Couldn't you keep the Legend and just ask your boy for the money instead? 😉 Your conical lead weight at 16:00 looks very much like a Roman steelyard weight to me. That little depression at the bottom might be where the iron suspension loop terminated. There should really be a corresponding ironish nub at the top where the loop emerged. That was my initial thought as soon as you pulled it up anyway...
Mmm good idea 😁🤣 Killing two birds with one stone , the D2 was always the machine I wanted to progress too after dipping my tie into the hobby . Birthday just means it will happen sooner than expected , after a year using the Legend I’m still only getting used to it . Cheers for watching HH Colin
You’ve a very thoughtful and generous son Colin 🤩 Lovely that he supports your interests!!
Yea complete opposite of me , who’d have thought 😁 Dropping him on his head didn’t do him any harm 😁👍🏻 Thanks Miriam 👍🏻

Yes I was surprised there was any left on it , certainly was quite windy , I know you’d get those goose bumps touching that thimble 😉
