I think the C400 is a solid Swiss Army Knife of a camera that will allow those of us who pick one up to work in basically every type of shooting environment and allow us to grow.

I agree and I think the r5C was a good way to ease into the canon cinema os. I gotta wait to see what it looks like but I think I might pull the trigger..

I’m torn between the Komodo X and the C400 I definitely know the C400 is more practical for my business. I also have the R5C and your right these will match up perfectly.

The C400 cannot replace a camera like the XF605. Does the aperture close when zooming in? So what, are you filming football or basketball in the dark? Your 18-105 lens will also not be able to replace the built-in one in the xf605

Bro to be honest I'd take this over the Komodo x. Its a solid camera but people like to down talk Canon cameras.

There is an upside to R3D in KX but having 2 SDI outputs and full size HDMI on top of all the other IO built in to the camera, yeah Bro the C400 will be easier to work with solo and with a crew. I've been asking RED to give us XLR audio so I can leave the mixer behind when I'm out shooting...it is unlikely that it will happen. That is one example of a whole lot of extras you have to bring with on a project not to mention ND filters, modules, grip, support, and peripherals because you know I need to see the image.
