This is a much easier to assemble jig to hold the grinder than some others I have seen. The easier it is to use, the more likely that it will be used.

I hold my spare grinder with a vice and it does the same as your jig. First I used another grinder to make the flat spots flatter and bigger so the spare grinder can be grabbed well by the vice.

I like it it is a great idea i think you will get a faster results for sharpening your axe if you use a sanding disk in you angle grinder because you can choose the grade on the sanding disk

Go to harbor freight and buy a table top grinder for 29.99-39.99 and it has both grinder wheel and wire brush polisher with shield no less.....
