Thanks for posting this. I appreciate your creativity in using the angle grinder. Also, thanks for emphasizing the eye protection. It drives me crazy to see people making videos that seriously endanger their eyesight and don't use protection.
I think this is great. Don't care what you call it. How can anyone take the time to give this a thumbs down. This guys takes the time to share a good idea and some people have to feel better about themselves doing nothing and criticizing others. Thanks for the posting :)
+Motor Head he did it at true right angles in a stable enough way. I found detail of the video to be useful. (How is discouraging people with snarkiness a smarter thing?)
+Unusuala Customeria ya, I gave Victor a hard time about his angle grinder video. It was a little snarky. But, when you make a video about mounting your angle grinder to your work bench your probably going to get a snarky comment or two. Victor looks like a tough guy, I'm sure he can take it :)
MBG-TECH Definition of MILLING MACHINE. : a machine tool on which work usually of metal secured to a carriage is shaped by rotating millingcutters. so no
homemadetools1 Why do you always grab the wrong part of the comment and reply to that? What you've made has NOTHING to do with milling. If you don't believe us take a few years off making videos until you learn.
it work nicely ...i made a similar fixture for the grinder ... thank you for taking time to share this i dont know why some people gave you dislikes ... thank you for your time
i think its because they were looking for a mill not how to turn angle grinder into bench grinder. This video gives me an idea for a project, but I still need to make a milling machine.
a really good realization , but I would have increased the safety on it! Looks like the more confident You become, the worst can be.... In any case , it can surely be improoved : let us know. All the best
Good Idea and for added safety, you may add a Foot Switch to activate or deactivate the grinder. You may also add a protective shield below the grinding wheel to catch the debris in case the disk shatters
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It may not be a milling device but the idea is great. Pay no mind to the people who want to be nasty or try to correct you. They maybe should learn from this video like I did. Thanks again for the ideas. Peace to you and yours.
Love RUclips for all kinds of peoples ideas and neat ideas, just wish it was around back in the day so the old'timers could have passed on knowledge that will be forever gone. Ill have to look up more of your videos for other ideas youve come up with, good idea..
I'm sure this has probably been mentioned a few times by now but you didn't make a milling machine you made an improvised bench grinder. A milling machine is a completely different tool which would be a little trickier to make.
Thank you very much, I was afraid to use this machine, but with your solution I lost the fear. Congratulations. I can't speak English, so I'm using the "Bing Translator". I ran your idea, I made a cut on an iron plate of 5 mm and was very good. I lost the fear, but the machine keeps. Thank you very much.
One word; Inspirational.. why? You shared a raw idea of sheer brilliance without the frills or add-ons... no clues nor tips on safety stuff or window dressing BS.. that's user end preferred.. knock yourselves out folks, right here's the framework.. go wild.. thanks for this.. bravo.. old grinder on shelf is getting a new position in the tool peckin order... cheers man.. fkn cheers.. ;)
Something new is sometimes seem scary or funny. Engineers improve it and manufacturers are establishing production and we have a good tool in the store.
You are using the side of a cutting disc. It'll weaken it and possible shatter the exploding shrapnel will bounce off your bracket and into you. If it doesn't happen to you it could to one of your followers. Please be very careful.
Great idea and can serve many tasks. However, a face shield is not sufficient to protect your eyes. You should also use safety glasses with the face shield.
Your angle grinder turned into an ...um... bench grinder, but another possibility might be to mount a sand paper flap wheel to have a disc sander. And if you mount marble shaping wheel and face it upwards, you'll have a horizontal sharpener of sorts. 4 tools in one is something to get excited about. Maybe.
Great idea victor. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know I needed this jig until I saw it. I'll use the same concept but add a U brace so I can hold the angle grinder using both handle holes. I would also connect the grinder to a momentary foot/pedal switch just in case the grinder gets lose.
Ах изобретательности русских! Благодаря Виктор Спасибо за выполнение его английский :) Akh izobretatel'nosti russkikh! Blagodarya Viktor Spasibo za vypolneniye yego angliyskiy :)
Not a 'Milling Machine'. But I guess that wasn't what you meant to call it, as English is not your native language. That's not a criticism by the way. Your use of the angle grinder in this way, is a good idea. I can think of several occasions where I could have put this idea to good use. Thank you for sharing, I'm going to build one :)
You are true wideo genius of the RUclipss! I like you machine wery much. It is super fine. The way you look at the wideo camera while making tight the handle on the machine device, is wery wery gangster.
Wow !!! Couldn't have done any of that by simply clamping the work piece in a bench vice and using the angle grinder as intended, or by using the bench grinder right next to you.
You don't wear gloves with machines because of the risk of entrapment. You wear gloves with off hand grinders because the grinder gets hot but this grinder is no longer hand held. The washer will heat though but fingers are a bit too close for liking with gloves on. I've of held the washer in a hand vice or vice grips.
While to do have to say the title is exactly accurate, this is a nice little trick for cutting metal. Very clever how you attached the grinder using the handle mount. P.S., I was thinking it might work even better to mount the grinder vertically so the blade only extends above the small work surface (like a table saw.) That way you could push larger sheets through without them running into the grinder body.
synapse131 That sounds like a really bad idea. Metal cutting circular saw and a guide will serve you much better, and won't really be that expensive. Even with soft materials (when talking about table saws, wood naturally is the most obvious one) grabs sometimes when doing long cuts, deep in the material. That risk is multiplied with harder materials, like steel. If your cut gets out of aligment, with the device you described, one of two things will happen: 1. The angle grinders cutoff wheel will explode to your face. 2. The sharp piece of steel you are cutting flyes towards you. Bossibly even both. Wood is easier to handle, softer, thus easier to work with, and not sharp which is why wood is often worked with mounted tools. Steel however is harder to handle, heavy, often sharp, hard, thus requiring more effort to cut and work with and also gets hot in most of the processes. Metals usually need more torque to work with and handling a piece of metal that is under that kind of force by hand is often not a good idea. That is why steel (and other metals) are usually clamped down and either the clamp or in case of handheld tools the tools are moved to work with the material.
Please be careful of your hands, also beware the cable is too near the disc! but interesting! way to go. thanks for this vid. keep it up. have a vodka on me!
Nice ideal it work great and its easy to put way fast, great job keep it up with your great idealsn Making your ideals come to life. If it works for the job your doing its a win-win. Great job well done.
Very similar to a set up I made - except I have the grinder where it can be raised and lowered to serve as a chop saw ... with two mounts that fix it to cut at 90 and 45 degrees.
homemadetools1 Would it be simpler to just put the material to be cut in a vice and just use the grinder normally. I do not see the point. It is a well made little table, i just do not see how it would be better than using it as intended. Put the metal in a vise, cut with grinder, simple.
How? First I have to build all that, then mount my grinder. Took longer to type than just using a vise or simple clamp. Boom, done. Sorry mate but I do not get it.
This is very good idea. Sometimes holding the work instead of holding the tool is better.
Donald Barnes You could also use this idea with a wire wheel.
Don't encourage him you fool
Thanks for posting this. I appreciate your creativity in using the angle grinder. Also, thanks for emphasizing the eye protection. It drives me crazy to see people making videos that seriously endanger their eyesight and don't use protection.
"Needing" is the mother of invention and improvision. Good job! I like it.
I think this is great. Don't care what you call it.
How can anyone take the time to give this a thumbs down. This guys takes the time to share a good idea and some people have to feel better about themselves doing nothing and criticizing others.
Thanks for the posting :)
+41point2 Thank you, you are really wise!
Thanks Victor. Excellent idea for pros but not for fools!
It is a very good illustration to show how to make a simple bracket for an angle grinder and turn it into a bench grinder, well done!
You mounted your angle grinder to your workbench. An amazing piece of mechanical engineering, you should be so proud.
+Motor Head lmfao!!!
+Motor Head he did it at true right angles in a stable enough way. I found detail of the video to be useful. (How is discouraging people with snarkiness a smarter thing?)

This man is a genius this is the best invention this decade
Remember V, If the women don't find you handsome they'll sure find you handy, great video thanks for sharing :)
Very nice jig, but it's not a milling machine. It's more like a bench grinder.
It says Tormach right on the side.
@@4thgradedropout980 haha
COOL! I am going to make this, sometimes my hand get so cramped up from holding that heavy grinder:-) Very useful and easy to build
A great idea, and can easily be adapted to be more versatile. Thank you for posting.
+greatscot Indeed.
You can make an adjustable fastener so you can grind 45 degree and so on.
Leuk ,praktisch uitvoerbaar idee ! Verhoogd de mogelijkheden .verruimd het gezichtsveld bij het verwerken van kleinere onderdelen !
From your video, it sparks idea for some of my projects. Thanks Vic for your time and effort.
This is a bench grinder not a milling machine
MBG-TECH did I milling on it or not?
Appoligies sir,I didn't mean to offent your talent and skills.I learn allot from your video. It was just my opinion.
MBG-TECH

+Victor V. thank you very much
i think its because they were looking for a mill not how to turn angle grinder into bench grinder. This video gives me an idea for a project, but I still need to make a milling machine.
Does no matter how you look at it ,it is still grinding and very far from milling .
It’s a tool I call, “The Angle Bench Grinder”... not a lathe.
You have to provide more secure to the power cable or it can be cut if you accidentally move it to the disk.
GusLapchatiy I try to follow your advice, just my attention was distracted by the shooting of the film.
how to make настоящий индеец!
+GusLapchatiy In Soviet Russia, grinder grind you.
It's "grinds", third person in Present Indefinite.
GusLapchatiy In Soviet Russia, language speak you.

I like it, I can see where it would work better than a bench grinder for some applications and also being able to control your work.
Very nice, sometimes the simplest solutions are best.
I'm sure this has probably been mentioned a few times by now but you didn't make a milling machine you made an improvised bench grinder. A milling machine is a completely different tool which would be a little trickier to make.
I like it. For grinding small items you'll have more control holding the work than the grinder. I'm making one today. Thanks for the video.
Good morning victor + merci x 1000 for this video very useful.
i see no milling machine in this video , just a fixed grinder from a portable grinder

Such a shield is a good protection for the machine. There can not be formed of heavy debris.

+Larry Hutcherson Sr Oh, your talent is starting to Wake up. It is the goal of my channel. ;-)
+Victor V. Hi
Oh man ,, here thought I was intelligently built, Side grinder mililling machinist
i have done this but also fully adjustable.i have also made a chopsaw with my angle grinder.. very usefull
I'm from Indonesia and what you make really really inspired me ... thank you ...
Armadilo Berto I can do it, so can you. I wish you success!
Do u have same kind like workshop there...
I m sorry if I can't write english well...hihihi

I like it, even if my ears do not. Thank you for sharing this.
That looks lethal!
Da, I like dis !! Nice job. I am going to make one. Thanks.
cheap, efficient and does what it is designed to do..i like, thumbs UP
Thanks!
Brilhante ideia parabéns por compartilhar suas criações, felicidades. Brasil
Thanks for sharing, Adding this to my workshop to safe time , Now i dont need to setup the milling machine for a small jobs every time .
I liked so much. Thank you for Sharing
this is a very good way for a more accurate cut on metal. thank you.
SIMPLE AND GOOD, THANK YOU
Good idea Victor ive made one in my workshop, simple and effective, ive found it very useful, Thanks.
Thank you, you inspire me to new videos!
i actually really really liked the idea! Thanks a lot !

Not a 'Milling Machine'. But I guess that wasn't what you meant to call it, as English is not your native language. That's not a criticism by the way.

Good idea for for small items.
Victor you are genius .your simplicity in design reflects your excellent intelligence.
Thank you for appreciating my work.

simple and nice idea .... thank you for sharing sir
great job I like it thanks!
Wow !!! Couldn't have done any of that by simply clamping the work piece in a bench vice and using the angle grinder as intended, or by using the bench grinder right next to you.
I think that this method will enhance your abilities.
I'm going to make something like this too. Thanks for good idea.
Please secure that cable and wear some gloves, other than that this is a great idea for the workshop
Gaz doitall it's the details. And gloves dangerous - can be wound onto the shaft, and you can get injured.
homemadetools1 Why didn't you protect the shaft then? Your fault if gloves get caught up in it.

You try to make such a machine and try it. Then I am ready to discuss the shortcomings with respect to it.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Please be careful of your hands, also beware the cable is too near the disc! but interesting! way to go. thanks for this vid. keep it up. have a vodka on me!
Bryn Noble Thank U. I will follow your advice
great idea congratulations one thing i was worried the power cord was going to wrap around the grinder
+Frosty FPV It is an optical illusion. The cable is far away.
Good job old man
This is the dodgiest thing I've ever seen!
Good, very very good; but everybody put the electric cable to the left side. Security first.
Wonderful.
Nice ideal it work great and its easy to put way fast, great job keep it up with your great idealsn Making your ideals come to life. If it works for the job your doing its a win-win. Great job well done.
Couldn't you just chuck it up in a vice?
good idea, better than clamping the thing in a vice and risking your fingers.
amazing group of haters...
Your technic is Super.
Thanks.
Thanks.
VERY CREATIVE, CONGRATULATIONS!
Very similar to a set up I made - except I have the grinder where it can be raised and lowered to serve as a chop saw ... with two mounts that fix it to cut at 90 and 45 degrees.
very nice
....give me a high three!
Keep rocking Victor
thanks for the great idea.
please put the grinder lead on the other side it may get caught up in the grinding wheel safety first don't forget the gloves you need fingers
+Mark Stevenson Gloves and rotating tools are bad ideas. It is rotating the correct way, as all grinders do. The other way would just draw one in.
Buena ideal y sencilla!
OMG, All these years I've been been using my grinder backwards.
2hands full lol
U never ever stand in the front of the grinder .but on the side of it mate
zac61666 why?
homemadetools1 Would it be simpler to just put the material to be cut in a vice and just use the grinder normally. I do not see the point. It is a well made little table, i just do not see how it would be better than using it as intended. Put the metal in a vise, cut with grinder, simple.
Nick Cattafi easy does not mean better, try my way, it is more convenient.
How? First I have to build all that, then mount my grinder. Took longer to type than just using a vise or simple clamp. Boom, done. Sorry mate but I do not get it.
Nick Cattafi When you hold the grinder in his hands, it difficult to see detail.
nice job👍
Not enough money to buy proper power tools this is good option
exelente trabajo de verdad una herramienta muy util.
