- Welcome fellow slayers! This is a useful meathook technique which has helped me to navigate Doom Eternal on Nightmare. I hope that this will help beginner and intermediate players to get the most out of this amazing weapon. Enjoy!

Just to say that you can also start the technique with a double jump and you will STILL be able to jump again once airborne.
It’s good to know that it resets it!
You can switch to another weapon or punch to break the chain and go flying too!

You can also use this technique in the gladiator fight on sentinel prime by hooking a fodder and using the PB RPG combo above the gladiator to avoid the shield
Meathook is solid in that fight! As is chaingun shield

I recommend all controller users play The Floor Is Lava, it dramatically improves your mobility and aim as well (which predominantly comes from the left analogue stick on controller).

@@FlailheadGaming If you’re doing a Weapon Switching Tutorial you should also implement the more advanced technique of quick switching as well.
The one where you pre select your weapons by moving the analog in a certain direction, BEFORE opening the wheel then opening and immediately closing it, SmvR and small DoomTubers like ArchRevival, Jojonathas, and myself use this tech and I feel that many controller players rely heavily on the basic 2 weapon combo when they could switch through 3+ weapons.
Just a suggestion though, I really like this style of video you’ve done.
@@muricaneagle666 thanks man, yes I agree, I will be doing a basics quickswitching and then a slightly more complex one similar to what you mentioned. My aim is to basically reach out to players who may think nightmare is beyond them on console and share things that have helped me.

What I like to do is meathook all the way to the demon, shoot them when Im right at the end of the chain, and right after I shoot them I fling myself upwards and jump. It gives you a lot of velocity and is a great escape method in open arenas

What settings do you use for weapon wheel? The open wheel delay for me is 70.
I still need to mess with the settings more, I think mine may be 110 or so.
On XBOX it seems you can't jump as far vertically when releasing from the hook and don't seem to stay in the air as long. I'm pretty sure there is a difference or I'm doing something wrong but I don't think so.
Very strange. Maybe try this:
-equip air control rune
-double jump first THEN engage the meathook, once it latches on jump again
-increase the horizontal and vertical sensitivity, I have mine at 65 and lock smoothing at 0
@@FlailheadGaming The only thing I'm not doing on the list is the double jump before engaging meat hook I just jump once perhaps this is the problem I guess the double jump in the beginning gives you a little extra height. Got the right runes, run my sensitivities on 100 but I do us 20% look smoothing. Thanks for the reply.
@@derekcarter3470 hmmm yeah double jump should give you a bit more air time possibly, don't forget that once you are in the air you can double jump again, that may give you that extra bit at the end?
@@FlailheadGaming Yeah I definitely use it at the end just not in the beginning ( double jump ) of the sequence I may have to wait a day or two my Internet provider is down, gotta love technology 😀
