- 1965 Indo-Pak war witnessed the Battle of Asal Uttar, which turned out to be a milestone victory for the Indian Army which successfully defeated the Pakistan Army in largest tank battle since world war II.
1965 में भारत-पाक युद्ध में असल उत्तर की लड़ाई भारतीय सेना के लिए एक मील का पत्थर जीत साबित हुई जिसने द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद से पाकिस्तान सेना को सबसे बड़ी टैंक युद्ध में सफलतापूर्वक हराया।
In the year 1965, Pakistan tried invading Punjab with its 250+ tanks and 10000+ infantry, with an intent to capture Khem Karan in India, and then controlling the National Highway 1. The battle is described as one the largest tank battles in history since World War II.
The fierce tank battle that lasted for over 3 days, 4 Grenadiers led Indian Army to a landmark victory with a plan that not only marked the strategic excellence of the Indian Army, but also underlined their courage and valour.
The battle also witnessed the ultimate bravery of an Indian Company Quarter Master Abdul Hamid, who knocked down 7 enemy tanks with a recoilless gun. He was posthumously honoured with India's Highest Gallantry Award - Param Vir Chakra.

Abdul Hamid ji was from my village dhamupur Jakhania Ghazipur U.P.....my grandfather was first to go in Indian Army His father stiches cloths of people of that area ....whenever he comes on holiday on that times he use to meet my Grand father ..Who was retd.Army men 1957..At that time people were haveing high moral our Grandmother told ...us when we on holiday ....his father use to take Big pots Gaggery ...And stiches clothsof our family...still there is no Diversion on Hindu and Muslim there ...But living in Delhi i feel people are self loving

It's just a short summary of that battle and some of its most prominent warriors , one being Abdul Hameed who single handedly destroyed 7 tanks but was unfortunately killed . He was later awarded by the government.
