Andreas Alpha Very, I know this is anecdotal but I once put a milk jug in the glass cupboard when I was in the kitchen, and the consequences are much worse when you're piloting 2000 pounds of metal.
Must be deaf-blind for them or ignorant...if I'm using the right words. Or careless thinking a train will stop for them... Should be in a rule of books for roads
Nah, its pretty bad for cops here If they have light on they can do pretty much wgat they wants, but in case something happens it mostly on theirs head too. Even if the other drivers are in the wrong
That's because europe is a dark country covered by the blood of monarchs and dictators. America is much brighter, and freer. We don't even need headlights during the night because we have the biggest and best moon.
Also, having a louder horn is not going to do much to deter anyone. If they can't see the tram coming, which is much bigger or longer than any of their vehicles and runs on dedicated tracks, then by the time they cross it's path the horn won't make a blind bit of difference. The only thing they can do is hope the trams continue to have better brakes than the cars that decide to wander into tram territory.
... dude, this bell is much better - you do not feel it from the videos, but it is loud as fuck, and really scary, if you are a pedestrian (which is the purpose, I suppose). My city (Bratislava) has basically the same trams as Prague, and I remember how I jumped at full speed from the tram tracks, after crossing them in front of the tram one time - after being ringed on!
Too bad a lot of people are like that. mainly the younger generation who are busy talking in their phones, listening to music from their phone and even doing make-up while driving (and yes I see all of those things almost daily where I live.)
Yes. And if you tell them not to space out behind the wheel and sometimes they smart about it and they may even sue you thinking that they have the right to space out behind the wheel of their cars. People like that shouldn't be driving.
Opravdu upřímně obdivuji trpělivost řidičů tramvají a zároveň nechápu tu sobeckost ostatních řidičů... "tramvajáci" to nemaj lehké nikde ať už v Praze, Ostravě, Brně.... . Tak co nejvíc šťastných kilometrů bez nehod i v tom roce 2018 všem !

A lot of people are stupid. But a lot of people in the comments also underestimate how confusing it can be to have 2 extra lanes in-between the normal road lanes. It's basically 2 roads in 1. More things to look at. Luckily, I've never made mistakes like the people in the video when driving or walking around trams, but believe me, it's definitely more confusing having to look at 2 roads instead of 1.
Just another video showing the reason that cars should drive themselves. (This is to be incorporated with inter-vehicle communication to prevent vehicular collisions.)
Cops don't care about trams... at least they get rammed there... It's great to see those Tatras there. In Leipzig(Germany) we've got T4D-M (upgraded versions)
This is stupidity at it's finest. Back in the days when tram service was available in all parts of the world, cars only had just the AM band. And you couldn't get good reception on the AM band in some places. If I was some of the young motorists' father, there would be no FM band in their car. And I would ground them for a year if they were caught using their phone while driving.
Not only in Prague. At least in my town in Germany (Kassel) there are many dumb fucks who block the tracks with their cars or suddenly run in front of a tram... Luckily crashes are rare, but I can imagine better things than being thrown severel meters inside the tram because of a sudden break.
Actually, the police turned on the lights, that should NOT be included in the list. But do it every other driver, then yes, it is a risk... Although, isn't that line 22 or 23? I remember this road :)
Clearly, the police needs to get somewhere quickly. It's a vehicle with high priority, whichs stands beyond tram. Not if lights are off, but with lights turned on, you have to pay attention and let it go through...
Yes, the police car had the right to go. But even if they had the right, a tram cannot stop suddenly. Also, even with lights on, the police must make sure it's safe to go.
They were perhaps a bit tight, maybe should have left it a second or two longer between putting the lights on and turning (also to give oncoming traffic more chance) but there was no accident and the tram didn't even have to brake that hard. Trams and trains are different. Trams are generally considered under road regulations, so should yield to emergency vehicles if safe. Trains on the other hand yield to no-one. Sadly a few emergency vehicles have been involved in collisions with trains whilst forgetting this. This is one reason why in many places the road signals at train crossings (and places like lifting bridges) are different to at road junctions, typically red flashing lights, often alternating, since this informs emergency vehicles that they must stop regardless. Tram crossings generally use normal road signals.
Put shunts on trams so they can push idiots in cars out of the way, make the drivers pay out of their own pockets for any and all damages caused to anything in the process.
Everyone gets license here, Czechs think driver license is basic human right, but it shouldn't be. My sister didn't get it because instructor had some stupid sexual speeches to her so she showed middle finger to him and have no money back and no driver license, but every single 18 years old boy can have driver license even when he doesn't know basic physics.
What kind of separation do you mean? There are lane markings, that's the only thing you need. If you aren't aware of the traffic around you, you shoudln't drive.
The tram literately drives in one path and people still have trouble figuring out where it is
Remove the brakes = remove the problem.
Darwin followers will agree.
The Everything you have no idea how a joke works
BMSworld.nz - BMS Database yeah should just let natural selection run its course
nono not the brakes,it cant stop at stations. Make it driverless with no form of sensors whatsoever

There're not at our stupidity level, it's from light years away...
i live here, and it's kinda normall (btw that driver said dicks and i was just like "uhm, i'm not from there":D we have such nice people here)
Visited Prague many times, love the trams and met so many locals, great city and great people. Uk
Billy Fish to bad it's infested with refugees.
Rockefeller It has one of the lowest number of refugees of all countries in central Europe.

So what? We are not stupid like so called "west" Europe, they would exchange with us this decision if they could but its too late for them.
Billy Fish until you get hit by a tram that you werent looking then is no longer a great city
Cockobango RangoJango No, it then becomes a great city with another knobhead in it.
How they cant see a giant, ringing, red thing coming towards them???
Prague is full of villagers who moved there, they are not used to. Native Praguers expect tram everywhere.
@@Pidalin that doesn’t answer the question of how they can’t notice a giant 40t tram

@ 01:08 did the police really pull off a stunt like that just to pull over someone driving without headlights on??
Forcing a tram to brake hard might cause injuries to standing/falling passengers.
well, in poland if u don't have headlights on, u will het ticket even in sunny day
Budd Dwyer those are daytime running lights and are required in most of Europe
That's because europe is a dark country covered by the blood of monarchs and dictators. America is much brighter, and freer. We don't even need headlights during the night because we have the biggest and best moon.

Prague has a problem with bad horns! They need some air ones!
Lëë Sin Only Nonsense those bells are really loud and you always know it's the tram and not a car or a truck. Their uniqueness makes them perfect.
Also, having a louder horn is not going to do much to deter anyone. If they can't see the tram coming, which is much bigger or longer than any of their vehicles and runs on dedicated tracks, then by the time they cross it's path the horn won't make a blind bit of difference.

I love that Trams T4 from CKD.
Dont know how this was in my recommendation. But its worth it.
I Look forward vol 3!
Not only prague, very tram driver has a hard job, all around the World 😉😉
My favorite yellow-red tram.
The worst thing is that they have to work with a horn that sounds rubbish!
It's REALLY loud IRL.
Ah, ok. That didn't really come across on the video.
planningto It is also unique so you always know it's the tram.
really? it sounded quite loud...
planningto it's a bell not a horn
Are those people blind? Deaf? Cant even estimate space by driving a car?

it is true the brakes system are aplied in not only first wagon but all awong in greater effect in eu wagons than in crappy USA wagons. yes

Actually, not really. Just treat the tram like a car on a lane just like a car lane.
How can it be the tram’s right of way on a zebra crossing and when there’s blue flashing lights?
Blake Hull It is like that in most european cities. Stopping a tram takes some time, so it would just create huge delays.
Even on pedestrian crossings pedestrians have to give way to trams, for obvious reasons.
Stop lights for vehicles at intersections with trams railroads and pbm is solved.
To be fair, it is pretty idiotic to have to share the road with a bus-sized train that can't stop quickly or change directions.

Do the bells sound automatically when they apply the brakes?
