Primaris Suppressors Conversion

- In this video I put my own slant on the Primaris Suppressors. I have always thought these models were a bit of a misfire so I decided to convert them into something that I would like.
NOTE: these models may not satisfy strict WYSIWYG rules. I have changed the armour to Gravis standard. Worth bearing in mind if this is an important factor in your own conversions!
The biggest issue with these units is that GW forgot they existed.

I feel nothing but hatred for those transparent flight stands. So anything that get rids of them is an improvement and these look great!

Really like the way these guys look, they are loads better standing, on mine I cut off the barrel and glued the muzzle on making it into a more modern looking gun.

Close quarters battle autocannon?
Nice one Mad Dok, these look a lot better than the standard Suppressors. If doing these myself I'd seek to move the jump pack further down as it looks a bit top heavy and add a much bigger ammo pack, but given the concept of the unit itself is so silly this is a much more palatable result.

Tiny ammo drums seem to be a feature of Loyalist and Heretic Space Marine weapons. 👍
Great looking conversion, but I have to say it, the shoulder pauldrons on the wrong way would keep me up at night 😂😂
🤣 that’s fair! I tried them the other way but they just didn’t look right to me! 🤷🏼♂️ could have trimmed em down I suppose but they obviously didn’t bug me enough! 😅 it’s an easy fix in any case 🙂 thanks for watching mate 🙏
While overall I quite liked the redesign and proportions of Primaris, of all the original releases it was the Suppressors that completely broke me and set me on the path to 30K.
Your version with them grounded and looking like they have some chunky heft to them is, once again, a great improvement to my eyes. I still think those huge autocannons are a touch silly looking, but yours feel much more plausible. Well done.

Maybe it’s make sense to cut the middle part of the gun, it looks too thin for a bulky SM

I think the old jump packs look better I quite like the end result. Although I would have removed the feed, and slapped the drum onto the cannon as a direct magazine, and slapped a few more spare drums on the back of the pack! In any case; Nice work!

I did something similar as a test and people bitched about 'modelling for advantage' I used an intercessor body, with a first born jump pack and a kalibrax pattern autocannon.

I can dig it. I think what would help alot with the jump packs is frankly, to just chop the thrusters/ big cylinder sections off and glue to the ends of the ones you've already got, almost like extensions. Which should help scale them up, I reckon.

Wow I didn't mind the look of the originals but those conversions make them look so much better. The Aggressor helmets and pauldrons really beef the model up to fit with their guns.

I don't mean this in a mean way; but I've never actually played a game but I do collect and paint minis. is "table top ready" really just a couple colors with some parts of the mini unpainted? maybe it was the lighting but it looked like a log of grey still on the models.

Those really do look a lot better than the original sculpt. The original poses look fine for Gundams, but, to my eye, are not so good for Space Marines.
Thank you mate and yes I agree that the originals look Japanese inspired- which IMO doesn’t suit the space marine aesthetic. That sort of thing fits better with the Tau methinks 🙂 thanks for watching 👍

Looks amazing but I'd have some concerns about playing them. They look like gravis so they ought to be M10" T6 instead of M12" T4.

What's the difference between them and inceptors ?
As I myself don’t play 40k, in gaming terms I’m not sure - different battlefield role perhaps? Looks wise they are quite similar - slightly less bulky than the inceptors. Thanks for watching 👍
i've seen a few of your conversions and i've been meaning to ask, why do you prefer super glue to plastic cement ?
I like to recycle my own minis occasionally and plastic cement is permanent! I’ve only ever used superglue on my minis ever since I was a kid (that was mainly due to impatience). The upside is that I can break apart and modify pretty much any model I have ever made. There is a higher risk of accidental breakages but for me it’s a small price to pay 👍 thanks for the question and for tuning in 🙂
Are you psychic? I was planning on doing nearly the exact same kitbash bodge this weekend except with a spare reaper autocannon that I was going to de-chaosify. 😂

Love this! Gonna try some of my own! Had some suppressors left from my combat patrol, I already like the models as is, But this just brings them to another level.
Any recommended kitbashes for the Inceptors? Thats one kit i really want to love and use, but i just hate the look of it visually.

Any plans to do primaris assault marines? I’d be interested in seeing if the firstborn jump-pack works on an assault intercessor. I guess it would probably be a very short vid though. Combine with that lore vid on your homebrew chapter? 😜

Other than basic infantry the Primaris units are so lame. GW staff are smoking something thinking these are cool Marine kits.
But this conversion is muuuuch better. Nice work 😊

Yes I was torn on whether to use the old jump packs of just regular gravis power packs (the latter actually looked very good) in the end I opted to try to stay true to the intent behind the originals 🙂 thanks for watching 👍

The Primaris range generally has about a 50% success rate for me! 😅 I know this is a lot lower for many!! I’m working my way through the minis that I don’t like and making them better (to me personally). Thanks for watching mate 👍
