You know how In some videos there’s an ABUNDANCE of scene splitting? Where the RUclips randomly cuts to a different face all of a sudden and starts talking about something else? That’s a sign of loss of thought train and repeatedly having to edit the video to where you started talking again. This guy… this guy speaks a fuckn book before he ends a video and it’s awesome. Since I subbed a couple of months ago I have really enjoyed watching your back log of videos Kevin. My story's a long one but to bring you up to the present I'm a Norwood 7 and had a 8,723 scalp/beard graft hair transplant at Eugenix by Dr Pradeep Sethi five months ago and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself. I'm 55 and sadly at 18 I had two punch graft hair transplants that only left scarring and a year later I had a plastic surgeon over several years excise out the plugs in strips. This left me with a linear scar across the top of my forehead which is 'thank God' now disguised by hair.
Getting back to my point. A couple of years ago I was on 1mg a day of finasteride and after two months my libido disappeared. After the first week or two I thought I had dodged any side effects so maybe it was a sub conscious nocebo? Anyways I ceased the drug at that point. Nearly a year ago I started again on 0.5mg M,W and F. I then titrated up to 1mg Monday and stayed on 0.5mg for a couple of months. I continued this method until I was on 1mg every second day, About two or three months after this I then began to feel that again my libido had disappeared. I had no sex drive. After one month of this I again ceased the drug. Would you recommend in your opinion that I should go back on it and stay at 0.5mg every second day or try topical finasteride instead? I also went back to foam minoxidil which I spray in it's cap and heat in hot water to turn it into a liquid and I've been doing this for about two months and will continue ad infinitum. The reason why I want to use finasteride is because I don't want the parietal humps on my scalp to drop as I age or for the hair in general to suffer from senile alopecia. As my entire Norwood 7 scalp has now been transplanted I would love your thoughts on what you feel I should do? Apologies for the waffle and thanks for sharing mate!

Hey Kevin. What do you think about finasteride/dutasteride effect on beard growth and thickness? Does it makes it worse? Currently I’m 22 y.o and my beard is still developing. Well ofc for me hair on the scalp is way more important then facial hair, but anyway i didn’t find much information on this topic.
And the second question is - Can you actually really regrow hair that was fallen out? At least not long time ago. Like 6 mouths to a year or so. Or you can only maintain what you currently have. I mean if you use finasteride + minoxidil and dermaroller for example. I have diffuse thinning on the top of my scalp and my hairline is about norwood 2.

My transplant is in a month. I still have top hair, but front hairline is mostly gone but for the middle. I heard all the bad stuff and got worried so I got on finasteride early to see. I did as suggested and went just a half mg per day. So far, the only side effects I have is in the morning I'm less passive and more engaged with energy. It helps because I'm a supervisor at my job. My sex life hasn't been affected, if anything I think I'm better, although I've done things since I started finasteride that would help with estrogen. I've always exercised and lifted weights, but I had some belly fat because I eat some garbage and splurge, nothing I can't change. I've made an effort to get off the garbage and lose the 20lbs I should lose and so far I've lost about 8 lbs of it. At this point I'm optimistic and glad I listened to your advice as I was being clobbered by negative stuff from a very vocal minority, yet I can sympathize with them because being bald and being impotent would be very devastating, but the fact is, the terrible side effects seem to be on a person to person basis. I've also ordered some topical just in case. By 36 I'd given up and gone into a hat because thinning hair looks terrible and being bald looked just as terrible. I used minoxidil since I was about 33, hoping to be able to save some incase I either came into money, or there was some better solution. I'm 48 now and I have plenty of money because I make a very good living and I no longer want to hide in a hat. It sucks for anything formal, you feel like either you have no class, or your a kid or something. I get happy just imagining going to a fancy restaurant without a hat and hair instead. Mass always sucks because I walk around feeling like something is missing, but the good news is around the people I'm used to seeing at work, they don't know what I have up there, not that I feel like I need to hide it because honestly, being bald or half bald is far worse than the world knowing I got a hair transplant. You look at those hollywood guys and they've all had it, because you can see the change over the years and they are ashamed and won't tell and it's pretty darn funny. It's been negative part of my life that's for sure so how things are going with the finasteride is a huge positive because I actually feel more confident and energetic on the stuff and believe me, I was very paranoid because I have a wife with an appetite and sex problems would be a deal killer.
