Thanks man. For being the only fucking person in you tube who isnt a goof and walks you through these things. So grateful I’ve found your videos and have been melting down over here swapping out lol. Thanks again
Thank you so much for putting this up! As someone who is completely new to mechanics on bikes, it can be really intimidating. Being able to see you walk step by step helped me feel confident wnough to swap my SM tires over to my off road tires this weekend!
Thanks for a great video! Simple, great view of each step. No BS. About to buy a DRZ and wanted to see how hard this would be. I'm thinking I would buy extra rotors and a sprocket so I didn't have to swap all those parts each time. Would make the swap quicker. It is far too easy to round out the rotor bolts.
Thank you so much for the support. Yes it’s actually very easy and an extra set of sprockets and rotors would definitely make it quicker. I’ve rounded out so many rotor bolts, but I’ve learned you have to heat them and use an impact screwdriver to get them out every time as far as the sprocket bolts pretty simple with just a 6 point 12 mm round end of a box wrench and a rubber mallet works wonders
Only thing I could add is motox has a great conversion kit form 400s to sm with warp 9 wheels and you can get a trail tech vapor speedo all for around 1200 ready to go out the box thank me later
Hey awesome video!! 2 questions. My sm wheels are stock fron another drz can I use the sprocket that is on it? And 2 where did you get the Speedo drive?
Wow so basically all you need is SM wheels and a SM speedo mount and you're good to go. Technically if your SM wheels had rotors and sprockets already mounted it would be even faster.
If you didn't know, first timers or as shown in the video, yes it only goes one way, the sprocket bolts are indexed so when they are torqued they will sit close to flush, 16&43 was my favorite sm mod, but 15-38 would be great too

Planning on doing the same on my own DRZ and this was the exact video I was looking for. Thank you!

Huge help, had no idea about the wheel speed sensor
Great job and great details on how to get it done
planning on doing the same swap on my DRZ400S. thank you for the clear step by step video!!
Great video. Super simple.
Cheers for the vid mate! The spacer! 😂 does the same to me every time.

Awesome video!
Nice Video. Tell me about the spokes on the s model wheels. Those are sweet.
They are just spoke wraps. Like straws that fit over the spokes
Where did you order these from please?
Is the front tire a 120/70/17? I’m worried about clearance between the forks
Yes
Hey awesome video!! 2 questions. My sm wheels are stock fron another drz can I use the sprocket that is on it? And 2 where did you get the Speedo drive?
Yes you can. I bought a used speedo drive on eBay for like $45
@@dirtydavetv3090 just did the same thank you!

What will I need to buy for the conversion?
Is it’s just the wheels and tires and use the S calipers and discs?
Yes. Just wheels and tires. Swap over everything else
Awesome! Thanks for the reply. Liked + Subbed
Thank you!
@@dirtydavetv3090 ✌️😎
And the speedo? Is that just stock sm part?
The rear wheel, does it clearly shows left and right (for the installation of the rotor/sprocket or is the same on both sides?
The sprocket will only fit on the sprocket side and the same for the rotor. You can’t mess it up
@@dirtydavetv3090 thank you 👍🏻

Where did you get your lower fork cover 🤔 I can't find them anywhere on line????
It’s just thick vinyl wrap
@@dirtydavetv3090 Looks cool Dave !
Did you put the sm kick stand on as well
@@malibujoe01 thank you! I didn’t. Stands a little straight up but not terrible
@@dirtydavetv3090 They say it's only 1 inch lower, so its not a deal breaker then?
Thanks for responding so quickly.
Enjoy your labor day!
would you need to get the sm kickstand?
You can but it’s not required
Did that lower the bike?
Yeah a bit
Rear Tire Size???
140/80/17
