Nothing can top the Imperial March, but this is definitely an amazing close second. While the Imperial March makes me think of total control they hold over the galaxy, the CIS March makes me think of the near infinite legions of droids coming to kill everyone who stands in their path. The CIS was doomed to fail from the start, but the droids kept marching on. I think that's why the rhythm slows down later in the song, then picks back up. Because no matter what the corrupt Republic throws at them, the droids will keep sending themselves into the fight. Millions of elite clones and thousands of Jedi warriors, yet their mechanical hearts will never break.

gosh, I'm not the biggest star war fan but CIS/droid army is always my favourite faction and wish that we could've seen things from their side of view a lot more!
In my opinion, that is what the sequel trilogy and the new republic's conflict should have been more focused around. We only got snip bits at what really should've been the arc. Former CIS members coming together to reform the CIS if they can't get the reforms they want for the Republic, Republic loyalist trying to bring back the republic as it once was before the clone wars, and Imperial sympathy still across the galaxy that Warlords fight over to reform the Empire. Just so much conflict that would be organicly already there to explore and make perfect sense to why things occur verse "somehow Palpatine has returned."
My dad grew up with the original trilogy, so i have heard the imperial march hundreds of times so i have never really felt the threatening aura around it. This was my replacement, so i think this theme is better personally.

In cinema and TV, most times the good guys will move from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen. The eye tends to read from left to right, and so physical movements in that direction seem natural, while movements from right to left seem inexplicably tense and uncomfortable, and it's NOT a coincidence that the majority of CIS v Republic battles show the Droids fighting on screen from left to right.
