I had Pryde of the X-Men on VHS as a kid and I remember thinking it was an episode of the 90s animated series, so I was really confused when the team roster/costumes/and voices all changed in all the other episodes.
I never knew about it until about 1994, when a high school friend opened a comic shop and had it playing. And I don't think I realized it was the basis for Konami's arcade game (the very first X-Men anything I engaged with) for another six or seven years.
I love this!!! I always found it a great shame that Pryde of the X-Men wasn't made into a full series (the art style/animation was AMAZING). I understand that introducing Magneto and his entire Brotherhood in the first episode may have been a bit disorienting for most viewers, but it was a stellar first episode (and my personal introduction to X-Men, so it 's extra special for me). Nice job editing the MUA3 trailer to fit the theme song. (y)
Thanks, Rey! I think I first saw it in 1993, after the Fox cartoon introduced me. Then years later I’d realize it’s the basis for Konami’s classic game.
@@cbake76 Speaking of the Konami game, I'm really hoping Dazzler is a DLC character is in MUA3. She was my favorite character to play in X-Men Arcade, she is tragically underrated, and she has an interesting power set that would make her fun to play.
I thought about making that the stinger at the end, but then I heard the Stan quote. And almost all the quotes are really cranky lines about how Kitty is too young to join the X-Men.
You made this? I like it. I watched the episode of that show. Also... If you vote, then tell them Spider-Man sent you. (He said that in the version I watched on RUclips!)
Yep, I just took X-Men footage from trailers and cobbled it together, trying to make the lyrics match. And yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. That was a PSA at the beginning of the VHS release.
This was a fun video. Nice job Chris.
Thanks, Greg!

Not gonna lie this theme fits really well.
Doesn't it?!
Now make one with the 90s theme!
I need more footage! :-)

A highlight of Dark Phoenix, for sure. :-)
Should’ve been the actual trailer.
You're too kind, my friend.
Awesome
10 outta 10
Thank you, Winford! (Sorry I misspelled your name the first time I typed this!)
Do we get Aussie accent Wolverine audio options?

Hello nostalgia my old friend. I’ve come to talk to you again!
That was EPIC! Welcome to die!!!
Isn't that what Magneto said in the arcade game? Great memories 😄
Thanks, Mista Jonz! And yes, thoyo, that quote is from the arcade game -- which is actually based on "Pryde of the X-Men"! :-)
