I am her age and I was in this exact type of situation with someone when I was in my early 20s
I left home because it was a bad situation, but lord nothing made me and my family seem more sane then my ex bfs TOXIC family. My ex even abused me when I was pregnant (I had a miscarriage from the abuse) and when I went to tell his mom she said my son isn’t like that you must have done something wrong
Although my ex would yell at her and punch holes in her wall
    Bad all around
Not saying her situation is this bad, or that it needs to be...but maybe you need to take a step back and really figure out if this is what’s best for you (mentally, financially, etc) because when you marry someone you marry their family as well
I am now happily married to a man who I trust and makes me happy, and we have our own house. We didn’t live together until after I was married. I get that old fashion values are looked down upon as antiquated, but honestly I feel like they are meant to protect you if executed correctly. With my ex marriage wasn’t even an option, and I remember being very scared to sign a lease because I wasn’t sure what would happen if we broke up (thank goodness I never did it would have been a disaster).

With their help I was able to reframe my ex as someone who “needed me” to heal 🙄...to see him as a person who was hurting me, and love isn’t supposed to hurt that way. I made a plan with my best friend, and packed up my things slowly so he wouldn’t notice, and when him and his family were out of the house I called her up and we grabbed my things, threw them in her car and booked it. Never saw him again, and refused to go back despite all the crying and begging. Good luck to anyone in an abusive situation, please learn from my mistake...always put yourself first.♥️
