He has no problem with living with your boyfriend or girlfriend. The problem he has is putting both names on legal documents when people are not married.
What is not mentioned in this video is whether the 27-year-old boyfriend has a job and, if so, does he make enough to afford an apartment in Boulder, CO where the median rent for a 1-bedroom apartment is not quite $2K.
If the area is too expensive, then move elsewhere. When there's not enough opportunity in one area, you go somewhere else. That's what humans have always done.
30 yo gf living with 27 yo boyfriend in his mom's basement. I feel for that mom!!!!!!!! At some point, you've got to say, "I love you and I want you to have a good life, but you have GOT to break out on your own." For HIS sake, if not hers. Maybe can't afford to live in Boulder, but that's how it goes.
So my friend was in the boat, she ended up with $1000’s in apartment damage and legal cost from the boyfriend who ended up damaging it when she moved out.
I don't get why the mother is kicking them out. That is important. Also, why is she offering them money? It's not up to her to figure out their living situation. It must be pretty bad for her to go to those lengths. "Here. Take my money and get out of my house." The devil is always in the details, but we seldom get the details in Dave's advice videos.
If she's willing to finance a home for them, I'm going to guess she's got some money so it's not a money issue it's a 'I want my house back issue' but also a 'I don't want my spoiled son to go through a hardship' So, you just pay him to move out lol.
I know this became very common in today’s world but I seriously cannot understand why you’d move in with someone you’re not married to. To me it screams lack of commitment and respect for your SO.
We know deep inside when we are wrong and off track! Some ppl just don’t want to accept it. Grow up ! Get your own life and apartment ! If he wants you let him work for it !
Some women have absolutely zero self esteem, they will be with anybody. You’re are 30 years old ma’am. Even if you worked at Walmart, I’m sure you could afford to rent a cheap apartment. But, you would rather be with mama’s boy living in the basement. Grow up kiddo!
I’ve never been in a lease WITH a roommate, I’ve always insisted on my own legal lease agreement. No sharing, just a timetable and fees for little ol me. It’s very easy to do.
My dad and step mom let my step brother and his girlfriend live in their 5 bedroom mobile home. My step mom really didn’t like that. She wouldn’t let my dad in the house unless they were married, but she let her son shack up with his girl. It was very weird.
Girl don’t do it. Everything he said I’ve went through before and thank God I make it out with my head still attached. @Caniggia Dinz - Unless they're married, the chances of it working out is not good. Dave has mentioned multiple times that it's not good to by anything with someone whom you're not married to OR family members as it can lead to all sorts of problems.
I moved back into my mom’s house with my husband because our lease was up and our house wasn’t closed yet. It was like two weeks. Would have been worth it just to pay the month to month at our apartment.
I am surprised they did not ask about what she does for work... both need to grow up, pay your bills, do they have savings. She said they listen to this show, do they take the advise?
Almost all Rental properties require every adult living in the property sign the lease. Even if a new person moves in, the lease must be updated. It’s legal protection for the Landlord. Essentially what Dave is suggesting is the Boyfriend should be legally responsible for payment, and any damages or legal fees while this girl could walk away Scott-free at any time with no liability even though she was also living in that apartment.... sure, it’s simpler, but its not very equitable or fair.
...also, if he gets an apartment then she moves in most apartment complexes require she be listed as an 'occupant' - I don't know what legal obligations that puts on her.
@@insideoutsideupsidedown2218 No, she is not just visiting. Understandably, apartment complexes need to know everyone living in their buildings (there more than a few nights). Beyond the stealing of services: one person could sign a lease and have four friends living in a 1BR and the landlord's rent income is 20% compared to what they are providing. It is a quality and health issue since apartments are not hotels.
@@stevenporter863 More money coming in from roommates does not entitle the landlord to higher rent. However, more than the proper number of occupants results in nuisance. Too many people there, too many people using the amenities, noise, parking problems, too much wear on the plumbing, more trash than the building is set up to handle, use of balconies and parking for storage, and it goes on. The other tenants are deprived of the quality of life they are paying for.

I don't feel sorry for the mom. She was likely the one who enabled her son in the first place.
@@mysticaltyger2009agreed 100%
The guy has nothing going for him, he must be absolutely packing.
women can be losers too
@@seabreeze4559 Absolutely, and men are much more likely to be with a loser woman with an amazing body.
I just want a women who cooks and does dishes
@@saelaird Seems to be the case here. He's packing, she's smoking hot ... and that's all they got going for them.
@@crack1270 Awww ... that's sweet! Do you cook for her sometimes too and put the dishes away? Then that would be a real relationship.
“When you break up” 😂

So my friend was in the boat, she ended up with $1000’s in apartment damage and legal cost from the boyfriend who ended up damaging it when she moved out.
Alcohol and drugs
There I finished your story

Just go.
No need for drama.

When “we” do anything together financially “we” should get married before hand. Two strangers don’t make financial decisions together.
...its not even a moral issue but legal one
Yeah. Being being married is going to solve all of your problems lol.
@@stevenporter863Tell that to all the jokers that insist you don’t need to be married to have married benefits.
0:28 That moment "Mothers basement" came out her mouth I knew right then and there Dave was going to get on her tail his face changed quick😂😂.
Mom wants her own place she probably want a boyfriend. Kids time to go live in a car. I did
Maybe mom guilt.
If she's willing to finance a home for them, I'm going to guess she's got some money so it's not a money issue it's a 'I want my house back issue' but also a 'I don't want my spoiled son to go through a hardship' So, you just pay him to move out lol.
It doesn't sound like she's kicking them out. The caller said the mom doesn't want them to leave
also the part that she wasn't in on the actual conversations was a red flag... it was 2nd hand info told to her by the boyfriend?
I know this became very common in today’s world but I seriously cannot understand why you’d move in with someone you’re not married to. To me it screams lack of commitment and respect for your SO.
We know deep inside when we are wrong and off track! Some ppl just don’t want to accept it. Grow up ! Get your own life and apartment ! If he wants you let him work for it !
By the title I thought they were like 18 or 19.
😂😂😂
right?
I thought the same thing.
I have to admit. I could not resist the title of the video. I couldn't walk away from it.
The ole saying “love you till the end of the lease”
Dave is correct!
Apts in boulder are like 2000 a month min, move to longmont and get your own places.
I’m surprised that Dave didn’t ask their income come and debt info. But on the other hand living in the basement says it all 😮
Dave did a good job on this one. Usually he screams about how lazy people are and is callous about peoples situations. Good job Dave.

Some women have absolutely zero self esteem, they will be with anybody. You’re are 30 years old ma’am. Even if you worked at Walmart, I’m sure you could afford to rent a cheap apartment. But, you would rather be with mama’s boy living in the basement. Grow up kiddo!
Of course they are from Colorado
"Don't be on a lease with someone you're not married to". Has he heard of roommates?
CLEARLY he's speaking from a relationship POV. Even then, it gets tricky and nasty with roommates.
I’ve never been in a lease WITH a roommate, I’ve always insisted on my own legal lease agreement. No sharing, just a timetable and fees for little ol me. It’s very easy to do.
I have had roommates and was not on lease with them. I signed my lease separate and paid my portion of rent directly to landlord.
I shared a phone plan with a friend. There’s no way in hell do I advocate even getting roommates.
"I'm going to pretend I care deeply about your future" lol.
5:04 Exactly what happened to my cousin. He is in a lease with his ex
She is not taking his advice, no chance at all.
100% she’s going to continue to shack up with her boyfriend
I haven't even started watching but boy is this gonna be a good one!!!
27 still living in moms basment and still taking moms money? What women would be attracted to that? Yikes. WAY past time to grow up bro!
I don’t understand parents who allow their kids to move to the basement and bring in other people.
Agree
My dad and step mom let my step brother and his girlfriend live in their 5 bedroom mobile home. My step mom really didn’t like that. She wouldn’t let my dad in the house unless they were married, but she let her son shack up with his girl.
It was very weird.
Be on code with leveling up, not stagnation
Girl don’t do it. Everything he said I’ve went through before and thank God I make it out with my head still attached. I wish I got the lease in just my name and it was the worst experience in my entire life. I’m still paying for it till this day. Dave literally just told my life in 8 mins so no this is NOT an exaggeration. Run like hell
Amazing content!
Dave is awesome!
I'm been in this situation... worked out nice financially but emotionally I'd stick with Dave's advice...
I didn't realize this was for Boulder Colorado lol. Now I get it, it's way too expensive to live in Boulder on your own unless you make a lot of money.
@dedalliance -- And the culture there is "everything goes."
If that's the case, adults move to where the housing is cheaper.
@@mysticaltyger2009 You'd have to basically leave the state lol. Obviously you can do that, but it can be hard and 'scary'. Or maybe not really an option if you have family you fee obligated to stay by and help.
"red flags all over the place and that's what I would tell my daughter except I would take it a step or two further than I did with you in terms of other paradigms through which we would look at it as well that we just ran out of time and can't get to".
I want to hear that conversation! Sounds ripe for another rant. "NO DAUGHTER OF MINE IS GOING TO GO SHACK UP WITH SOMEONE SHE'S NOT MARRIED TO..."
Not just that. No daughter of anyone should Date a loser living in the basement
She got the jackpot so far because she is in the danger zone and the wall is closing in fast. She's holding on for dear life and she wants to pop out a kid asap.
It's one thing to have difficulties and times can be tough for any adult at any age I'm 71 years old there's been difficult times in my life and it wasn't always when I was a child of 17 but you do the right thing put your head down always forward never straight and you just got good advice from Ramsey
Interesting. There was an implication that 'he' needs to commit to 'her'. Is it possible that she isn't committed to him?
He is 27, she is 30.
Ken: "He is 27, he should put on his big boy pants and buy his house."
Is she a kid? Why should she not buy a house?
@Caniggia Dinz - Unless they're married, the chances of it working out is not good. Dave has mentioned multiple times that it's not good to by anything with someone whom you're not married to OR family members as it can lead to all sorts of problems.
Parent’s basement should be a temporary thing
I moved back into my mom’s house with my husband because our lease was up and our house wasn’t closed yet. It was like two weeks.
Would have been worth it just to pay the month to month at our apartment.
Never take money from people you have tensions with.
Mannnnn..... That was a good one.
I am surprised they did not ask about what she does for work... both need to grow up, pay your bills, do they have savings. She said they listen to this show, do they take the advise?
Grow up. Make ur own money. Get ur own place. Depend on urself. It's pretty obvious.
Way better than living in my wife’s boyfriends basement 😂
Michael your wife and I treat you pretty well, you have nothing to complain about.
"This is all dumb!"

Almost all Rental properties require every adult living in the property sign the lease. Even if a new person moves in, the lease must be updated. It’s legal protection for the Landlord.
Essentially what Dave is suggesting is the Boyfriend should be legally responsible for payment, and any damages or legal fees while this girl could walk away Scott-free at any time with no liability even though she was also living in that apartment.... sure, it’s simpler, but its not very equitable or fair.
thats why they should be married
That’s not what he said at all. He clearly said not to do this at all and live in their own places until married.
"When you break up" lol
Get it together caller! Stop just listening to Dave "religiously" and start doing what you have learned.
Great advice.
If you're not married you never buy anything together with someone you're dating .
...also, if he gets an apartment then she moves in most apartment complexes require she be listed as an 'occupant' - I don't know what legal obligations that puts on her.
@@stevenporter863 why...she is just "visiting"
