How do you set up the 2 echo studios so that when your not using the fire cube or fire stick, the audio from the TV itself comes through both the studios?
Thank you for this great video, setup, and review. I totally agree, I am also trying to do exactly what you were hoping to do: use 2 Studios and the line-in feature to have stereo sound. I am able to get great stereo sound with the studios using Bluetooth and paired them. But I'm not able to get the stereo sound with the line in option, even if I use a splitter and each input on each studio. It plays, but not stereo sound. Its not ideal and not what I intended, but I've yet to find a way to do a work around for this type of setup. That being said, when I play with them paired and streaming, then it works as intended. I just wish could also do this with the line-in.
Echo studio - I’ve found the toslink to be a pain in the arse as a optical hookup ! in the setup you tried with two echo studios.. which might I point out that you can do the same with two normal Alexa speakers plus a Alexa subwoofer... and all connections via wiFi wireless to a fire stick or fire tv cube .. good luck
Ok so it's good to know that I HAVE to get a Fire TV Stick or a FIRE TV Cube. I bought 2 Echo Studios recently and I've been having the most annoying time trying to connect them directly to my Samsung Smart TV. The Studios show up as "paired" under settings > sound > Bluetooth devices and there's an option to connect and I'll even get a notification that they connected, but the status doesn't show up as connected, they still show up as paired even with the notification. I've worked with that for a few hours last night. What's crazy is that I did manage to connect one of the Studios to the tv a couple of days ago, I guess that was a glitch or something?
I plunged in by preordering a pair and have had them since release day. Never having previously dealt with smart speakers and the Alexa app, I found the initial set up confusing. This video will make it easier for new purchasers. The sound is full and detailed whether playing Amazon Music HD or ultra HD tracks, or watching content via a 4k Firestick. Now if only I could stop the video performance of the Firestick looking so horrendously smeary I'd be very happy! I have it hooked up to my Philip's 65" Ambilight 4k TV. Any help with that issue would be greatly appreciated!
The echo studio have a built in Alexa too, so when you say Alexa do the speaker respond or the fire tv cube? Also if you setup this way can you still watch regular tv channel and still gets audio coming from the speaker or only the cube?
I set up two Echo Studio's from my Apple Mac Mini, First I connected Analogue to digital convertor with 3.5 aux input and a optical output to my Mac ( you can run a cable from the headphone socket on the Mac but I used a USB dac because the sound is better ) I then ran a Toslink cable from the convertor to an optical splitter box with two optical outputs then run the two special Toslink cables to the Echo Studios, This way I dont have to rely on using a firestick in the living room as We only use the Mac as a media centre, The whole thing works really well and sounds absolutley awesome, On the subject of Subwoofers at one stage I did buy an Echo Sub but it was a living Nightmare so I sent it back to Amazon, I think the Echo Sub looks awesome but is totally useless, Ive managed to install a 3.5 Aux on one of the studios and I connect a Hama Subwoofer via an Aux cable, Ive Beat Amazon at thier stupid games and dont have to rely on thier other products or Bluetooth and also both speakers work with anything, Theres no background noise or hiss, It all sounds complex but I found it easy, I worked it out myself and why did I bother when I couldve just bought a different system and use an Echo Input you may ask 'TO BEAT AMAZON thats why' , Anyways awesome videos thanks for sharing Bud.

Thanks for this! I wish all app instructions were as clear as yours. That was great. I returned a setup with 3 AudioPro A10s (one for the back of the room) and a sub. The sound with music was great but the functionality with the tv was so poor. In an effort to make the living room setup more family accessible, I went for a Sonos beam and 2 Ikea Symfonisks in the rear and am really happy overall. My wife was playing music on Tidal from day one and my 11 year old son said the music sounds much more alive in surround. To be honest, I could use a bit more punch up front but I am ok with that compromise. How would you compare this setup to the beam?
Would be nice if you could put one studio in the front for the front channels and one in the rear for the rear channels. Wouldn't that make more sense?
Can i pair 2 Echo studios without the Firetv? I mean connecting each speaker direct to the RCA cable and straight to the TV. Would the Amazon Alexa app still be able to find and pair up both speakers?
I just wanna say, I love your Chanel !!!! Because of you, I decided to buy my first Echo Studio and it sounded incredible! Then, you decided to try a pair and I followed your idea. Oh MY GOD does it sound AMAZING!!! The experience is outstanding coming from Amazon Smart speakers. I saw your new video adding the sub (great addition btw) .... imagine if You were able to add 2 more Echo studios and put them in the back of your living room set up, what kind of experience will that be??? Can we set up 2 different kinds of Home Theater systems (only using Studios) 4 total? My oh my the sound will be... out of this world
One alone is a virtual surround system when you use two you lose the bounce of the wall and behind you effect to be honest one is better alone on a shelf above the tv .... a proven fact and built into the speaker, in order to use this system you request you would need to turn off speakers inside the units to allow the rears to do there job.... in other words buy a full made for the job set, for what these Echo`s do Epic but don`t try bypass the design or a lot of money will be wasted!!
So i have tested with one Studio and have got it working via both Alexa App and optical to the TV. I set up the Audio System in the App first then i added the Optical lead from the TV to the Studio and i have sound on all devices but when i am on the Fire TV i have Atmos on this so it seams to work don't know if there was an update to fix this as there was on last night.
Interesting review, thanks. The inability to pass any other audio through the whole sound system is a complete fail in my opinion. I hope amazon can sort that out with an update, for their sake, otherwise Sonos still have a massive advantage. BTW, what’s the demo vid you’re playing onscreen? Keep up the good work!
Yes, you shouldn't need a fire tv device to get atmos from Netflix or movies. Of course you really should get a proper 5.1.2 or 7.1.2 surround for a great experience.
@@kennymurphy4493 ohhhhh ok so it's connected to your fire stick and not the tv. So if I wanted to watch say a bluray or something it won't work with that right?
I have 2 Echo Studios and it only sounds like that when you have your sound at the very high end of volume rather than at a low end for regular TV watching.
@@NewagesystemsEu9002 well one echo studio is 200-250$ right? so two of those would be 400-500$. With that there are a lot of soundbars WITH subwoofers that would offer louder, better, and more bass rich sound than these echo studios ever will. 400-350$ is a lot for two speakers the size and quality of the echo studios.

Please note everyone. If you buy the sub. It will only work for music. So if like me you bought the sub to add to two echo studios then it will NOT work for films content. You tube etc. It only works on music. So save your money
Two questions? 1) can I use an echo studio studio as a sound bar with a 3.5 toslink cable? 2) if so do I lose the use of Alexa data on that echo studio?
I think you'd connect speakers to Bluetooth through the TV ie: audio output. And plug the sky into the TV Hdmi. This is how the amazon TV can connect to an alexa sound bar. However the problem arises with time delay and syncing to peoples mouths. It's a fiddling process which requires trial and error and back and forth through two different screens.
Darn, the studio, fire cube combo is $630, more than a good pair of powered speakers like the Klipsch or the YU which has multiple connections. I might just stick with my echo dots, roku 4k, and get a pair of really good powered speakers that hook to my tv, phone, Bluetooth, etc for only $300. I really wish I could afford the studio set up..

Thanks for posting this! I've been waiting for someone to do this for a while now. What I'm really hoping for is that because each echo studio has 5 drivers, is that each studio can perform both front and rear surround sounds. i.e. left studio can recreate both left front and left rear and right studio can recreate right front and right rear surround sounds. Would you be able to test if this is possible? Thanks!
NO. It may be able to downmix to 2.1/binaural but binaural is significantly less exciting than running Dolby Atmos through a Dolby Atmos setup. I recommend a minimum of a 5.1.4 system. Soundbars that can bounce audio off of the ceiling and roughly where it needs to be, although still not nearly as good as having height speakers, is much much much much better than playing Atmos in a binaural downmix. The binaural downmix was created to enhance headphones to sound better than typical stereo but does not come remotely close to actually having Atmos. The $480 a cube and 2 Echo Studios will cost you is more than the price of a Vizio soundbar-based 7.1.4 Atmos bundle.
Is that possible in Home Cinema setup add 4 speakers and sub? Like 5.1. As I see it, is two Echo Studio with Echo sub in front, and two simple Echo attached to the wall behind you ?
So what do I do when I don't have a Amazon Cube or 4k stick? Cause thinking of upgrading the TV to a smart TV which would have all apps built in, I wouldn't need a stick.
I am reading in internet about Amazon Echo Studio since 2 weeks, and I could not find any information about using them front and rear, to avoid buying a 5.1 home cinevam system. Is there any way to make a test about it? Thanks a lot
how does this compare to that of the HomePod setup up as a home theatre pair? I have ended up returning my HomePods as I didn't feel there were very loud or bass while watching a movie? do these go louder?
If two are paired on the FireTV 4K Stick, does Spotify work on both speakers via Fire TV? Would other music from the iPhone also work on both speakers via an AirPlay app on FireTV? Thanks 😊
Once you have set the Echo Studio up as Home Theatre with Fire 4k TV stick, is there an easy way to play the Demo piece you played in your video? Cheers
Once they go on sale I think I will get one or two. I know they are still new but worth waiting for i think. hopefully by then some new functionality will be added to help the input issues.
At last someone has reviewed them as a pair, provided some answers. Disappointing that they don't pair up through the optical connection, hopefully Amazon rectify this!

The down side to my google home Max is that it keeps dropping connection time to time and I have to go through the Bluetooth pairing process again!
You've got yourself a nice TV so don't cheap out now get yourself an AV receiver all your audio issues will be over plus the beauty of a receiver is that you can add to it over time for example get yourself a pair of stereo speakers then you can go on and move up to a 5.1 with a nice big bass and then you can get yourself a pair of height speakers or ceiling speakers to get the full Dolby Atmos effect and not the virtual Dolby Atmos like it's been displayed before it's now!

Hi, this is what I am also hoping to do, at the moment I am put off buying it. Have you found a solution yet? please let me know :) thank you
Echo studio - I’ve found the toslink to be a pain in the arse as a optical hookup ! in the setup you tried with two echo studios.. which might I point out that you can do the same with two normal Alexa speakers plus a Alexa subwoofer... and all connections via wiFi wireless to a fire stick or fire tv cube ..
About the satellite service or connection to other devices the hdmi in on fire cube gen 3 can be useful. Give it a try.
I bet it sounds amazing. Surely if you don’t have the FireTV you can just connect both speakers for stereo sound right (Spotify, Amazon, Pandora etc)?
You can stereo pair for music but only fire TV for TV not cable or just the TV
Can we get a link to that test video? I would like to try it.

Wonderful sounds
Could you set that up as actual surround with 5 speakers ? Separate the center and rears ?
Greate job. Do you still use and think it worth after 2 years? Tks!
Can i pair 2 Echo studios without the Firetv? I mean connecting each speaker direct to the RCA cable and straight to the TV.
Would the Amazon Alexa app still be able to find and pair up both speakers?
There’s a DOLBY Bluetooth transmitter, could both Echo studio pair with that.
Link?
You can’t possibly get Dolby formats via Bluetooth. That is misguiding
You can link the echo studio with the firetv 4k Max with Bluetooth. If you use another divise you Will need a arcana and wire everithing
Does sound still come from the fire cube when in home theater mode?
finally there is a setup with two of them and testing dolby atmos
Wonder if you could use an optical splitter. It would be mono, but you would at least be using both speaker. S
I have that demo on my 7.1.2 system. You can download them at the thedigitaltheater site.
@@RuiSilvaPT Many thanks.
Update for pass trough is now available
@@Luxx0711 Where would I find a tutorial for a work around? Thank you.
How about adding an echo sub into the mix? I have one studio & sub and when watching movies the floor is shaking with the sub
how did you add the sub to your tv? I thought you can only use it with an echo device.
2cool0 I added it to my echo studio which is in a home theatre group with my 4k firestick
@@kennymurphy4493 ohhhhh ok so it's connected to your fire stick and not the tv. So if I wanted to watch say a bluray or something it won't work with that right?
***NEW TWO STUDIOS & SUBWOOFER REVIEW VIDEO***ruclips.net/video/rb8EtRwyXP4/видео.html
I have 2 Echo Studios and it only sounds like that when you have your sound at the very high end of volume rather than at a low end for regular TV watching.
Can i use the pair with a regular tv or laptop
Will Sky Dolby Atmos not work through HDMI into one of the new Fire Cubes?
I was hoping you added the Echo Sub but this guide is good enough for what I want to actually do
Rouel Jones here you go ruclips.net/video/rb8EtRwyXP4/видео.html
for the same price you could get a monster soundbar with a subwoofer.
Be more specific, please.
@@2cool0 bought 2 new 1s for 240 . Got pled c9 tv . I'm limited to space . So got them I love them .. yes limited to amazon stick but used that last 2 years for films so not a prob . But sound 10.10 .
Any solutions yet for it to work with the firestick and NAS as a pair?
Maybe a digital optical splitter may work
wonder if a stereo splitter cable would work left right from you tv box
Purchase the fire stick 4k MAX and be wirelessly and it has full arc return from all inputs
Please note everyone. If you buy the sub. It will only work for music. So if like me you bought the sub to add to two echo studios then it will NOT work for films content. You tube etc. It only works on music. So save your money
Can you add a subuffer with the studios, a will be worth
Two questions?
1) can I use an echo studio studio as a sound bar with a 3.5 toslink cable?
2) if so do I lose the use of Alexa data on that echo studio?
Got a 4k fire stick . Bought 2 echo studios 20 hours still no joy . Going back .
It doesn’t work with other android boxes, correct?
For example Nokia 8010 or orbsmart r81? (Both fully Atmos capable)
Fantastic, very innovative indeed. Were you able to set up the Nebula bar in this set up or only the studios.
Can the tv speakers be used in conjunction with the Alexa set up and fire tv?
Which audio stream are you playing ?
Darn, the studio, fire cube combo is $630, more than a good pair of powered speakers like the Klipsch or the YU which has multiple connections. I might just stick with my echo dots, roku 4k, and get a pair of really good powered speakers that hook to my tv, phone, Bluetooth, etc for only $300. I really wish I could afford the studio set up..
I’ve been wondering is there a way to connect my Xbox to 2 echo studios so I can have the audio go through them
Purchase the fire stick 4k MAX and plug it in the hdmi arc port and once home theatre is configured you will have arc return from all inputs so you will have sound from your gaming console
@@anonymoususer7985 my tv only has one hdmi arc, so one this one for the Fire tv 4K Max? Than the other hdmis with ps5,Xbox and Sky will work with the Sound?
@@andersonm3110 yes just plug the 4k max stick into the arc hdmi port and setup home theatre to connect the fire stick and echo speakers to each other, you can configure through the FireTV detecting the speakers or download the Alexa app onto your phone goto devices tab scroll down to the bottom and you will see speaker pairing this is where you can setup home theatre and general music pairing
Once that’s done any of your other hdmi ports or normal TV will pass sound back through your 4k max just like any directly connected Soundbar would
@@anonymoususer7985 nice i only read the Last 1 Hour about doesnt work with Sky (like in the Video) or new consoles.
For understanding… 4K tv Max will work with alle my devices on the tv for Sound? (4K Stick Must put in the arc hdmi)
One last question, maybe you could answer it too. Right Now That tv have Only an arc and Not an earc, would That be a Problem?
@@andersonm3110 yes it’s a new update Amazon did earlier this year that allowed this function with only the 4k Max stick, this will not work with any other of the FireTv devices
Yes the stick will need to be put in the arc port
The earc and arc is not a issue
FireTV stick will automatically send earc to studio speakers because this is the fire stick and speaker talking to each other directly
Anything played from other sources example you Xbox will send in arc because it is communication is through an arc port, the port itself will force the Xbox that can do earc because it is a hdmi 2.1 port back to arc quality
The place where you will get earc is when watching Dolby enabled films on the FireTV or when streaming music normally through the studio speakers but only with Amazon HD Music subscription
How do you play that Dolby Atmos demo on demand like that?
How to connect both speakers to just smart tv and not the fire tv?
Is that possible in Home Cinema setup add 4 speakers and sub? Like 5.1.
As I see it, is two Echo Studio with Echo sub in front, and two simple Echo attached to the wall behind you ?
Not yet. I’m waiting on that feature too. I wanna add two more echo studios. I’m
Adding the echo sub next month
Are you the voice of Kurzgesagt?
Is it possible to not have them in Stereo? To have the full sound on every Studio. I want to have one next to the TV and one behind my couch.
Wat about two echos with a aux cord splitter to the sound bar
UPDATE. Firestick 4K MAX & FireTV Cube both have ARC audio passthrough now
So what do I do when I don't have a Amazon Cube or 4k stick? Cause thinking of upgrading the TV to a smart TV which would have all apps built in, I wouldn't need a stick.
How is the Dolby almost on the dual speaker setup? Does the audio really come at you from all angles?
I am reading in internet about Amazon Echo Studio since 2 weeks, and I could not find any information about using them front and rear, to avoid buying a 5.1 home cinevam system.
Is there any way to make a test about it? Thanks a lot
how does this compare to that of the HomePod setup up as a home theatre pair? I have ended up returning my HomePods as I didn't feel there were very loud or bass while watching a movie? do these go louder?
Can you add it to existing speaker system
If two are paired on the FireTV 4K Stick, does Spotify work on both speakers via Fire TV? Would other music from the iPhone also work on both speakers via an AirPlay app on FireTV?
Thanks 😊
Do the 2 Echos and a fire tv cube work with the RUclips app or is it just one speaker which works?
as well as >> home theatre > stereo pair
Once you have set the Echo Studio up as Home Theatre with Fire 4k TV stick, is there an easy way to play the Demo piece you played in your video? Cheers
Dolby Atmos Horizon video on RUclips
Once they go on sale I think I will get one or two. I know they are still new but worth waiting for i think. hopefully by then some new functionality will be added to help the input issues.
maybe if something like the alexa input allowed to be a transmitter then you could just plug it into your TV aux/opitcal output.
At last someone has reviewed them as a pair, provided some answers. Disappointing that they don't pair up through the optical connection, hopefully Amazon rectify this!
I just ordered a pair of the Studios to use with my firecube. Gonna try using this optical cable splitter to see ( smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DLLP978/ ) if that can push audio to both at the same time (also I think he said the studio uses the mini connection which I fortunately have adapters for). Will post results when i get it ... unfortunately studio is backordered for now so wont arrive until next week.
Pooka Chu did you try ?
@@mostlycrap how did it go? And is the sound just as rich like when streamed from Amazon music and video?
@@newdrew2744 Hi sorry everyone was out of town for work past month. Forgot to update on this. So I did try it ... it technically works in that sound does come out of both speakers however there is definitely some sort of timing or delay as the sound is not in sync (which I have no idea why). Between the two there is like a millisecond delay so you can definitely notice it.
I just got home a few days ago and have been getting settled back in to being home again. I'll try messing around to see if I can a solution to get them in sync. If i do ill update.
Also wanted to add the delay is also present with a signal splitter as well (i had purchased a 3 way splitter on amazon smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D1KHWGB)
Unfortunately you can only use one of them at the time if you don’t have a FireTV I would love to buy a second one and use them with my Nvidia Shield but it simply isn’t possible.
Amazon fire stick/cube can you show RUclips and other applications
can you find a DLNA APP on the Amazon fire stick/BOX then maybe you could cast to that device from your sky system?
So I use firestick 4K 90% of my family tv time! I'm buying 2 studios and SUB combinations! Will be half the price or more. Then the 3.1 sound bar system and 4k blu-ray player I planned on buying. I'll just get that on blackfriday 😆 😂 🤣
Look forward to seeing what you think when all set up!
What apps does the Dolby atmos sound work with on the fire stick?
Can you connect the Xbox or PS to the home cinema?
Didnt work for me. I managed to get two studio speakers and a sub connected to a new omni fire tv and the audio does not come out well at all. it's very choppy.
Question, can you use this "speaker set up" for just watching cable tv without the Fire devices? In other words can this set up be used as you default audio configuration?
Could try and use a HDMI to micro usb to see if it will transfer audio via the usb on the back. HDMI arc from the tv to the micro usb on studio
I don’t know why but for my 2 echo dots I’m only getting audio from my left speaker and not from both. What I am doing wrong?
I’m also trying to connect it to the firestick
I think the firestick is limited. For my set up i have a fire cube and I'm hoping it's better. I'll let you know
What about the video and sound delays (latency) issues? I do not have a fire tv. I have a Samsung Curve Smart TV. Please advise.
So the only way to use both together is with the fire TV??
Yep or Firestick 4K - I hope this may change in a future update.
Very well structured video. Clear guidance.
Is it possible to connect a soundbar + Echo studio for more sound? Like a HT system.
I have been struggling to find a way to connect my JBL sound bar and sub as connected to my TV and have sound come from the Echo studio and these speakers at the same time. I decided mere moments ago to just sell the sound bar and sub and buy a second studio, I love how one sounds so two will I'm sure be great.
Thank you for the video! So I did this, I bought two Echo Studios and a Fire TV Cube 2nd gen. Setup was very easy and I got sound immediately. However, some things such as Netflix Atmos and 5.1 sounded pretty good for a
Wonder if it is possible to use a y audio adaptor so you can run 3.5 to both speakers? Right/left
pretty much what I was thinking. I have this ( smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DLLP978/ ) handy which i will try when i get my dual studios (backordered currently so wont get them until next week)
How do these compare to a soundbar?
i’m hoping that the echo studio is discounted over Christmas as I want to try this out with my new Samsung 50 inch TV. Is the sound better than the Google home Max? The down side to my google home Max is that it keeps dropping connection time to time and I have to go through the Bluetooth pairing process again!
Not a chance fella, it's only just getting sent out to those that ordered it months ago.
Can you use two echo dots as left and right speakers behind you and your tv as an audio source as well?
No
Could you set the echo studio pair to be the preferred speakers for the cube?
Yes you can
I'm really happy with this set up ,sound fantastic as home theater system. On point with music too 🤘
Rock on!
I don’t know. I’m having problems via Bluetooth playing my iTunes music through my iPhone 13. Sound only comes out of one speaker. But get this: when I use the Alexa app? And listen to local radio through the Alexa / Amazon app the sound of both speakers WORK.! So, I’m guessing, Amazon let’s you use ONLY Amazon devices like Amazon music, Amazon fire tv, cube as a “Stereo option” NOT my lg tv, not my Apple iPhone, not my tv Roku … Bro
Are you still able to use a sound bar with this set up?
No he said so in the video
My speaker keeps switching to another wifi on its own it’s annoying so I always have some speaker off
Can this be hooked up to an apple 4k tv????
no
OK, having problems, When i get to this step 2:40 it tells me: "Device network error" Make sure that your devices are on the same wifi network. Guest networks are not recommended." -Funny thing, they ARE on the same network. Help?
What's the link to the audio test you used? Is it a local file?
I followed this step by step and I still can't hear any sound coming from my FIRE TV Cube. I've changed the sound settings on my LG TV to HDMI ARC and nothing is happening... tried all sorts of different ways and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated
