  • If you have a fire tv device of some type and a few echo smart devices, you can create what Amazon calls an "immersive Dolby Home Theater". Today we put two Echo devices together with a fire cube TV and see if these beats out a traditional sound bar or are there better options out there?

    I am so glad that a RUclipsr is talking about this , I always wanted to share my enthusiasm about this setup but I am not a RUclipsr, I have been rocking two of those in my bedroom since they came out to replace a single $500 soundbar, I placed them really far apart , like 2 meter away from each side of a 55 inch TV , I started using those on each side of my bed because I suffer from severe tinnitus so I cannot fall asleep without music ,
    and I am not talking soothing music but chill trap , chill drum and bass or indie soul ( weird right ?).
    As I live in a tower block I cannot have high volume at night , and compared with the single soundbar I had , there is no competition , no need for a subwoofer , there's plenty bass enough at low-ich volume , the stereo separation is incredible , the phantom centre is spot on , for the price (wait for special offers as it's often the case) it's excellent for movies and music , the sound is kind of holographic to the point where it makes your head turn when someone knock at the door in movies , something the soundbar didn't do .
    To put things in perspective, my front room setup is a 5.2.4 q acoustics speakers , Denon x4500h and BKelec subwoofers , so I am not saying those echoes replace a proper sound system but for the price and the non-intrusive size , it's an absolutely impressive and excellent bargain . 🔥🔥👍👍

    I do believe that if you have the 1st gen Fire TV Stick 4K Max or the newly released 2nd gen Fire TV Stick 4K, or 4K Max (as of September 2023), you can get ARC functionality to use your Echo speakers for all audio on your TV if you so choose. Not sure about the Fire TV Cube devices. Great video overall though! I have a pair of 3rd generation dots working in conjunction with my 1st gen Fire TV Stick 4K and it's not bad.

    I’ve got 2 echo studio’s paired with my omni fire tv qled in my living room (getting the echo sub for Christmas for 2.1 setup)… and I have 2 echo dot 5’s paired with my firestick 4k max in my bedroom. They are on my nightstands right next to my bed, definitely a way better sound than my tv alone

    I use two studios for home theater. No need for a sub. And it sounds awesome through Netflix or other 5.1 Atmos streaming services. RUclips and RUclips tv are only 2.0 sound.

    I have 2 of the 4th gens and 1 dot and the new cube I haven’t played them in a theater setting and I don’t know if I ever will but I have to say that they sound better than I thought.

    A lot of soundbars are better as they have more Digital Decoders built in like Dts.
    Firesticks only do Dolby Digital Plus which is not very loud for dialogue

    You can actually use this type of setup with hdmi arc and you can at least use it with other devices but you won't get atmos audio just 2.0 or 2.1 if you have the echo sub.

    Wished you commented on dialogue or center focus sound, how effective it is using the stereo layout, does that trump a sound bar. I really don't have a sound bar, never really been a fan, I mostly do actual surrounds all the time, but won't mind exploring stuff like this for a small setup space

    • @Kpaceguy
      @Kpaceguy  Год назад +1

      With a sound bar you can get away with sitting off centered and the voices still come from the middle since all the speakers are in the sound bar. With Echo devices your best dialog will come from sitting in the middle between the left and right. if you don't you'll mainly hear the echo your ear is closes to. But I imagine most people who are using sound bars or echos won't care anyway.

    Will a service like Netflix recognize it as a Atmos system? Also I thought RUclips was only stereo.

    • @Kpaceguy
      @Kpaceguy  Год назад +2

      Yes youtube is stereo. Streaming services will still recognize it as an atmos device as long as your fire stick, fire tv or fire cube is new enough

    When I’m connected with the tub and fire stick to my 2x echo studios work just fine with home cinema settings and Dolby atmos…
    The problem is only when I try to do the same on my projector ….

  • @tudorcosmin-andrei4203

    I’m trying to set up my 2 echo studio with fire stick to and my projector. I’m having a problem disabling the Dolby atmos sound in the sound settings… I was trying to set it on PCM when fire stick to is connected with the projector and in home cinema…
    That’s not possible and I looked everywhere for a solution but I think in home cinema setting with a projector PCM is not available…
    I’m keep getting an error saying doubly sound is not supported in home Theater with projector because of copyright risk and my Firestick tv is keep disconnecting or freezing with my projector when I’m connected with my 2x echo studio.
    This is very annoying and I’m forced to listen to the sound from the projector with its a lot lower quality then the 2x echo studio.
    What can I do ?
    I also can’t connect my 2x echo studio with Bluetooth from my projector to watch movies I can only use them for music in this order.
    Any tips !?

      Yout projector probably doesn't pass-through the right info. If your using an older projector or a budget one, it won't have the latest version of HDMI and then you're right you can't do anything about it. But it shouldn't matter because I think the echos communicate via wifi
