      2 items were skipped cause of large file. How can I migrate them as well?

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  11 месяцев назад

      If IMAP migration skipped the large file than you need to do manual migration (pst export import) or have to use a migration tools.

    None of these videos on YT mention that this method doesn’t migrate sub folders that exist under the main inbox.

    csv is incorrect, email address should be microsoft email, username should be local server email, failed to imigrate until resolved by microsoft support

      No issue with csv as email address and username should be same of you migrate same domain email

    You have explained and shown a demo of the migration feature very well. Thank you for the video. I have a follow-up question: After completing the migration of all old e-mails, will all the e-mails along with attachments be actually downloaded and saved in the Exchange server? Can we then update the MX record of the domain to point to Office 365 ? Just wanted to make sure that all e-mails and attachments will be available in Office 365 as one may lose access to the old e-mail providers' mailboxes after the MX records changed to point to Office 365. Please clarify.

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  9 месяцев назад +1

      This is IMAP Migration. This means from our old email server, an email will be copied to the O365 server. Once the MX record is pointing to O365, no new email will go to your old server. The best practice is you start the Migration with the old email server IP, after Migration complete you change the MX record with O365. Then again start the migration batch to see if any email goes to your old server during MX record propagate time. then you can discontinue your old server. remember, your email data would be still available on the old server.

      Thank you@@microsoftbeyond for your prompt response. While migration is running and syncing and after completion of migration, can we see the copied e-mails in Outlook online (Office365 version) before changing the DNS settings of the MX servers? In my case, if I go to the Online version of Outlook, it keeps asking to sign-in repeatedly even after signing in correctly. Do you know why?

    I would like to know before i import csv file to exchnage online, i need pre create user mailbox on exchange online is necessary? Or the csv file can auto generate each user mailbox on exchange online?

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  9 месяцев назад +1

      CSV cannot auto-create mailboxes. you need to create the mailbox first. assign licenses on the mailbox and then perform the migration.

    Hi thanks for the video, great explanation. I do have one problem tho, whenever I get a new e-mail it wont pop up in my outlook account... After the migration it just migrates the old mails...

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  Год назад

      My suggestion is to run the migration before MX record change. And run the same migration batch after the MX record change. That's way you will have your all the email.

    • @microsoftbeyond

      You need to configure in exchange in your outlook. If you have O365 desktop version you can easily connect with exchange. Or you have to use 2019 office outlook to connect in exchange.

    If I migrate from GoDaddy Office 365 to Microsoft Office 365, will the Teams chats, groups, and data also be migrated? Additionally, once the migration is successful, will my Teams chat interface look the same as it did in GoDaddy Office 365?

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  8 месяцев назад

      No. This is only for email migration not M365 migration. For teams you will need 3rd party paid tools.

    What is wrong when I get this error: According to the error message : “ Error: RemoteNetworkErrorTransientException: We were unable to reach your email provider.”, it seems that Office 365 cannot connect to your IMAP server. S

      You can change the Encryption (tls /without tls, ssl / without ssl). Try the combination. If your remote server support IMAP it should work.

    Can you show upload file csv ?

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  Год назад

      In csv file only 3 column.
      1st one "Email address"
      2nd one "Username"
      3rd one "password "
      Email address & username would be same. Password is for your old email password, not your Microsoft passwords. Save the csv and upload. Sample csv can be download from active users -> multiple user add tab

    Where should mx record be pointing, source or destination?

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  Год назад

      Migration has nothing to do with MX record. When you go live after data migration you provide Microsoft MX record in your domain DNS.

    • @willpatey5622
      @willpatey5622 Год назад

      @@microsoftbeyond it’s important to understand that in order for the migration to be successful the mx record must point to the source email server. If you’re migrating to office 365 you would usually have changed the mx record to point to 365 during setup so it needs to be changed back to successfully migrate. The mx record then needs to be changed back once the migration is complete.

    • @microsoftbeyond
      @microsoftbeyond  Год назад

      This is just to show the data migration. Not email server migration. That means I have email on Cpanel/ zimbra server, I want to move my zimbra data to O365 by doing Imap migration. In the data migration process you only need your source server IP. SPF record, Cname record, MX records comes later when you go live with O365.
