- There have been a lot of milestones in Star Citizen, and plenty of them were pretty cool, but few actually seemed to indicate an ending. With the updates at the end of this year, we might have made it to one of those milestones. The fun of Star Citizen though is that this may be completely wrong.

It's hard not to appreciate seeing real progress happening with this long-ass process. But it's also pretty easy to understand that this long-ass process is far from over. Those Space Bees are pretty delicious though.

I actually found a scenario where ground vehicles are useful outside of the norm.
New Babbage. Land at the spaceport if you need to store your ship. Go from the Ship Asop right over to the ground vehicle ASOP and spawn a vehicle. Drive to the commons area and all that instead of navigating through the city.
It saves me so much time and gives me a reason to use ground vehicles if I need to actually store the ship to change parts or buy new ones for it there etc etc.
SC is awesome. Lets hope 2024 is another awesome year.

I think you're correct about everything no longer feeling like it's two years away but most of the good stuff still being two years away, lol.
From what we know is scheduled to come in 2024: without base-building, persistent habs, building interiors, dynamic economy, dynamic server meshing, and more than 2 Star systems...it's still just short of something worthy of giving the Beta title.
Can't wait for Q4 2025!

When I backed this game I was in my 20's, I'm in my 40's now.
It didn't quite line up that way for me, but I know how this feels.
If everything is just beams, what was all the "physicalization" for?

Really ..this year has been a good year for sure unlike literally every year since 2013 except for 1 year in that decade. Let's see if they are really on a roll but I am excited that hopefully finally they are getting their stuff together. I been a backer since 2013 and hoping indeed this is finally coming together. Although disappointed for years I am thrilled that this year was basically a good year for CIG. I understand the difficulty in the technology it was just their predictions and falling on their faces that was difficult for backers. Cautiously optimistic after a decade of disappointments.

I always feel a little bad when people have this internet meme-based perspective. I mean, not too bad because people who hate games they haven't played often completely flip the script when the tides change and act like they were on board the whole time. Yet, I do know some people who would enjoy SC in its current and future iterations are probably going to miss out on it because of the repetitious jokes.

It's hard to say. I assume they want to give it enough depth and everything and not just look like a sponge like some games do. They did show off some braid and dread styles at Citizencon that would have been something, but for some reason they didn't make it into this launch.
Honestly loved the video but this game has to be one of the most frustrating buggy ass hell of a game it is definitely not comming in together

Yeah that tends to be a thing when a game is in active development. Remember the leaked GTA6 footage some thought looked rough? Imagine instead of a leak if Rockstar allowed gamers to play an alpha version of what GTA6 was like a few years ago. People would be losing their minds as to how broken and buggy it is and that’s for a single player game.
@@Heshinsi yeah I feel that the games name is already ruined why not let people test this demo. Plus they need money and a way to charge for development money to keep going I get it. You would just think at some point they would pause and somewhat clean up the game instead of constantly adding new broken things to an already broken thing. Come together? The game barely runs without rubberbanding or stable 30 fps. There is no money sink, no basebuilding, no NPC responsiveness, salvage is boring, still no real bounty hunting and disconnects are still common. Star Citizen is far away from being a game, unless you like huffing copium whenever your hype runs out.

the game is not coming together. it is very hard to play a full game lot of bugs difficult to warp anywhere ships blow up, there bugs everywhere you can't refuel so many bugs and you send a report they never answer you. they keep adding content, but the game doesn't work.

For me the game works just fine. Played about 16h in 3.22 so far and encountered very little bugs. But many people complaining play on potato PC's which can cause alot of problems
There are certain updates that are less stable than others - 3.18 was obviously a dire situation - but SC has become much more stable and functional over the years. It has a long ways to go, but it needs content and completion more than it needs perfection.
I dislike the scepticism, scorn and distrust this studio and game has picked up over the years. Doesn't matter what they do, they still get the "...which they promised 6 years ago" butt hurt comments. Did they want to deliver on every single promise? Yes... did reality stop them from doing that? Yes... did they feel like shit for not delivering as quickly as their backers wanted? Yes. Let it go already
I think a lot of slack is deserved for the attention to detail they consistently put in. They're trying to make the greatest multiplayer gaming experience of all time. Did we think this was going to be easy?
