  • In this video I unbox the brand new Nokia G60 5G in its Ice Grey colour, talk about all of its hardware and software features, and show case its most prominent characteristics. The Nokia G60 is a new midranger from Nokia Mobile which comes powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset, with a full hd IPS LCD display and 120hz refresh rate. It sits above last year's Nokia G50 in terms of features, and runs on stock Android 12 out of the box.

    This model will last good as new with a minimum of 5 years without even a glitter. All essential 5g bands, high quality battery, nfc, and 3 year warranty with software update, and monthly security update directly from google with a pure stock ui.
    Even pixel. and .motto. uploads unknown data packages from our smartphone to their servers. Mad respect for nokia to the only brand being loyal and trustworthy for their consumers.
    The price we are paying is not only for the specs but for a combination of quality software, hardware, longetivty and for people who are focused mainly on privacy.
    Nokia does not scans our whole pictures and video like Apple. So consider NOKIA for the goodness in it.

    About time they brought back FullHD displays on midrange Nokia phones, 120Hz is a nice surprise as well, but my goodness is that design incredibly (and as you said) forgettable. I think a side-by-side with the G50 would better showcase how much the design had regressed in the past few years.
    Gone are the days of silky white Nokia 7Pluses, copper accents, and symmetrical camera modules. ☹️

    So from what I can see, the G60 6/128gb model is the one to get out of both the G60 and the X30. I can’t see how the increased price per feature is worth it over the G60 6/128gb model when you still retain 1080p 120hrz panel, slightly bigger screen, expandable storage, headphone jack, same chipset and of course a better price point. Great video as always.

    As a Finn (who once upon a time worked with the Nokia 7110 software) I wonder where these phones are sold at now? I haven't seen them here in Finland. What is the target market for these phones and the Nokia feature phones? ETA: I checked and all Nokia Android phones are sold here as well.

      Also for those wondering about HMD: To my knowledge HMD is doing ok. I know only of Nokia (the company) which is doing excellent. It just made the biggest profit ever in the last quarter. I think they're now testing 6G technologies - the company campus is like 1 km from where I live.

      @@yusufkacchi9012 Nokia (consumer electronics brand HMD) is separate from Nokia Corporation. It might me a bit difficult to separate HMD from Nokia since HMD is controlled and financed by mainly Finnish forces and is headed by former Nokia people here in Finland. HMD is like an off-shoot from Nokia proper.
      Nokia Corporation in Finland is completely separate from HMD and still quite alive and thriving working with 6G and being the dominant provider of various systems for mobile, satellite and other communications in the world.
      A nice side note: Nokia is providing the communications for NASA's Artemis moon mission and will provide a communications network to the moon.

      They are sold all over the world but not in every country or with the same level of availability as the good old times. Something like a G60 is for someone looking for a conservative reliable workhorse and good performance with stock android.

    • @toms5996
      @toms5996 Год назад +11

      @@AbdullaZaki I would have A LOT to share but in short I worked for Nokia 7710 Visual Radio (that was also implemented in two other models): Visual Radio was a piece of software that combined FM radio and completely interactive graphical user interface that was in sync with the content of the channel. I.e. if you you would listen to a certain song from some FM station the phone would show full screen graphics of the song/band/trivia etc. while listening. At the same time it was interactive - i.e. you might get questions about a band, take part in quizzes etc. It was a bit too much ahead of its time. Between 2003-2007 Finland had 4 major FM channels supporting Visual Radio.
      While I was working with 7710 we were testing features with 7700 which had DVB-H. At the time and till 2005 Finland had 3 DVB-H channels so you could watch tv on your standard mobile phone without any antennas. This feature was dropped from 7710.

    Forza Milan! Nokia is slowly coming back...Among others your Nokia fandom is not overly praising its sincere, honest and straightforward and i, as a viewer will always respect this and will always choose honesty over payed gibberish. A regular user doesnt need the greatest camera, the fastest processor, the clearest display. You need A camera, a reliable CPU, a big battery, even LCD's nowadays are pretty good and fast charging speed. That in my opinion is really what a phone in 2022 should be about in mass cosumption market. Everything above its targeted, its niched, its unnecessary for regular people. Great job you're doing. Btw i'm thinking to have a vacation in your country. :)):D

      Performance on both is about the same, it's honestly excellent.
      Size, X30 is more compact and you will notice that.
      Ram and storage, X30 comes in 8/256 or 6/128. The max for the G60 is 6/128. But you can buy a memory card for the G60, can't for the X30

    Nokia is giving specs which are available for half or three fourths of the price. On top of that, they have removed charger. Yes. Most people have some charger lying around. But warranty will be void if one use a non standard charger. Which means, over the high price for menial specs, we need to pay for a charger too! No wonder Nokia is on the slide everywhere.

    Two questions; Does the display use PWM (pulse width modulation)
    And when is the US release?

    • @rodLX
      @rodLX Год назад +2

      From what I've read, they used PWM before in phones with OLED screens like the Nokia 8.3. Probably using it on the new X30 too.
      But this phone G60 has a (less agressive) IPS LCD screen with a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and some users reported that Android 12 "Extra DIM" feature helps a lot reduzing eye strain.

      If we tap on the back of the phone ... It sounds as if the phone is hollow...G21 has similar build. It doesnt mean phone is not well built, but will not give a solid in hand feel.

    • @handel1111
      @handel1111 Год назад +1

      the G50 is heavier with 220g vs 190g of G60 it's because of the larger body and 5050mah battery

    • @AbdullaZaki
      @AbdullaZaki  Год назад +1

      Not just the weight. The frame of the G50 feels more dense, it's frame also seemlessly sits next to the display while on the G60 there's a small plastic piece between them.

    HMD Global is quite smart for introducing the circular program. It's goal is to target flagship users of iphone and Samsung that won't mind paying for the monthly subscription services.
    Many of flagship users love keeping their environment clean and also love donating to charities. I can say Nokia is officially back.
    Personally I cannot afford the circular program since the subscription service is expensive for me but I will continue buying Nokia Phones because they are durable compared to specs based Chinese phones
