I used to make breakfast sandwiches on my sandwich press. It's not as big as your's though (*that's what he said *). Did the buns (or English muffins) & shortcut bacon first. Whisked a couple of eggs & added finely diced capsicum & onion. Took the cooked bacon & toasted out. Poured in the egg. My sandwich maker has a notch where it let's you lower the lid without completely closing. The heat from the top was enough to cook the eggs. Oh and I could top the eggs with cheese and if didn't stick to the top. Never thought of a burger but love the idea. Definitely gonna do this. Anything to keep the house cooler and save on electricity. Thanks mate.
A week later it'll be covered in cement, saw dust, glue, paint, plaster, melted plastic bread bag, coffe, grease tomato sauce and cheese! Still, It beats eating from a Roach Coach...
hi Greg. never thought of doing a burger this way, so simple. I do cheese on toast. I put kitchen paper between the cheese and lid.,work real well. thanks
I've done this for years at work ! Burger patties cook in just 5mins, top & bottom at the same time ! I also do Kransky & Bratwurst sausages on the sandwich press ! Snittys too, 1min in the microwave then a few minutes in the press to make it crunchy !✌👍
@@MrStripyHead Hey Grego 👍 Yeah I get those 8 pack chicken & cheese snittys from Aldi, them fresh one's that say 15mins in the oven. You put in the microwave for 60-90sec, then put it in a hot sandwich press for for a few minutes & it makes it golden brown & crunchy ! You should try it ✌👍 It's not the fresh breast snitty's it's the processed ones but it's alright for quick snack or work lunch lol ✌
I usually use an egg ring with my pattie. That way, I add at least 30ml of water underneath meat. 8 mins all up for pattie. I use salad onion, so i dont cook onions. I do, however, use soy sauce mixed with aoli mayo

Very entertaining Greggo, as always. But those things can be a bastard to clean, and the excessive flattening of the bun suggests that the one small frypan model will continue to be my method of choice.
Those pickles are INDIAN sahib! It is almost IMPOSSIBLE now to get Aussie grown/made pickled cucumbers! All I could get were 3 Threes gherkin slices. They're nice but a bit TOO sweet! WHERE in hell CAN I get the old Golden Circle bread & butter jobbies these days? CAN'T find 'em anywhere! ANY1 help a fellow Aussie??
Very nice. But im hoping you used real butter tho. Margarine is one molecule away from being plastic. Thanks GregO. I think I'll buy a press like that. 👍
Margarine being “one molecule away from plastic” is just plain nonsense. Plastics are composed polymers while margarine is a blend of fats and water. There is no chemical similarity between the two. In any case, being “one molecule away” is a totally meaningless expression.
Just a tip , instead of doing "copy video url at current time" and pasting that into a comment , you can simply do a time stamp in the comment section of that video , e.g. 4:22 ( yours was a couple of seconds out to catch the "Bro" so I corrected that . ) You must use a colon between the minutes and seconds , not a full stop or any other punctuation mark . Hope that helps .
G'day Greg, well, mate, I gotta ask, do you own a frypan or a skillet and a toaster? You can produce a better burger, just as quickly, using the tools above and avoid deforming your bun and you've only got the skillet to clean up. If it's a non-stick then it's super easy to clean. Why bother with a sandwhich press? Got to tell you mate, not a good idea to show people how to slice an onion (or anything) your way. I've been a chef for a long time and I've actually seen what happened to an apprentice (unsupervised) slicing off a couple of his finger pads using the cutting method you just did. Right tools for the right job is a good idea to keep in mind. Slicing an onion shouldn't be an activity that can easily end in blood loss! You can slice an onion anyway you like, on your own. Give it a bit more thought when you're doing a video. Also, not a great idea to insult the majority of your potential audience by doing an awful, unintelligible, impersonation of an American accent. Cheers, Bill H.

I do these at work all the time with our sandwich press in the canteen.

This is what's known in the Classics as a Bachelor Burger...pre Air Fryer
I have this same sandwich press Grego. A tip... put a can of something under the handle that stops the top bit squishing the bread.
Ha i use a can as well lol .also i use baking paper so i never have to clean my press .toasted sangers with melted cheese isnt a prob anymore 👍
How fabulous this is the best use of a sandwich press I've ever seen!!!
Greg's kitchen FINALLY back in the kitchen

Piano!! ? Nah.. this Debby does Dallas music accompaniment is way better
Even better with egg. Thanks, Grego. I'll try that.
I've been doing my bacon in the sandwich press for years. Even sausages. It's not quite up to steak. But good to know it can do burgers.
Paninis, toasties, and many things with a sandwich press
Greggo much needed, Back doing what you do best 👌 👍 I love BUDDAHHH
grego, do the breado lasto. it only needs warming on one sideo and it stays fluffy.
Tip: Place a piece of baking paper over the cheese to stop it sticking.
Nice burger Greg'o.
Anything but De-Pressing 😉
Great way to make it mate.
I thought I could smell that from The Lone Star next door nice work
Fantastic again greggo...... havent seen two buns that compacted for a long time
Awesome idea, Grego 👍
Those sandwich presses can cook heaps of things..... 2 of the best things to cook on them are crispy bacon and hashbrowns come out well
Been doing my bacon in it for years. Super quick, crispy, and clean up is a wipe with a paper towel.

Anyone still have the George Foreman grill? haha....I love your channel Greg.
I have also used my toaster on a, similar way cooking pikelets really good or anything else
Now isn't that better then takeaway 😋
Beats McDonald’s, and the burgers from a fish and chips shop any day
Grego is off his dial 😂😂😂
Nice kitchen counter Greg
try using a bowl over the burger to melt the cheese and chuck a little dash of water under to steam/melt the cheese
actually rewatching, try just a square of baking paper between the cheese and the press, saves washing up a separate bowl
That looks good Greg 👍
Great effort grego
I'm gonna try that
New kitchen looks bloody sick grego, can’t wait for future vids
nice one greg
you are the man 10/10 fot that budgie
A bloke I used to work with, would cook his steak, chicken, burritos you name it he’s cooked it on the work sandwich press 😂
