Ronnie was SO symmetrical and aesthetic in his early days. A real classic bodybuilding physique.
True, I wish he kept that and could've still gone up to the weight he did...
Yeah I noticed the difference in the body builders between 1994 and in 1996, they changed from statuesque superheroes to bloated monsters.
that hair tho
@@lean2260 The judges don't score hair in BB. That's bikini division.
wtf? symmetrical ? , classic physique? wtff u talking ABOUT? jeeez .. what dellusional people............ when he won mr olympia was like a fat dude !!! when he won wasnt aesthetic... was pathetic!!!
My dad worked backstage at a bunch of local shows. I got to see Ronnie and Jay Cutler backstage once. I didn't really know who they were at the time, but I remember looking at Jay Cutler's calfs and just sitting there in amazement. He noticed me and said hey bud. I said hey back, and followed it up with your calfs are huge. That put a huge smile on his face and he replied with a "thanks bud". I was maybe 8 or 9 at the time. Watching videos doesn't do their size justice. You have to see it in person.
Because Jay was told early in his career that he has small calves and it killed him so he trained them everyday after point. So it probably actually really meant alot more to him than what he put off. Sorry for taking a whole year to comment
I saw a normal gym pro bodybuilder having huge arms in real life, Olympia level I can’t even imagine.
little you probably made jays whole day there
A genuinely nice guy - humble and honest.
Ronny you are a legend, I think everybody who loves Bodybuilding loves you too.... You are so great. You are always a motivating for me.
Bro we love you....!
man the steroids will wreack havoc on your body, and soon! my buddy used crank during the late 80's when he was 16 and recently had part of his colon removed. he said "one more foot of colon removed and I would have had to wear a shit bag for the rest of my life." be careful in what you wish for! go natural.... these freaks aren't fooling anyone with how they got there and it will cost them one day.
ALL these calamites' that are going on around the world will lead up to a Sunday Law Which will be The Mark Of The Beast, Those that keep God's seventh day sabbath will be prohibited from buying and sell and persecuted. Jesus is coming are you ready?
Agreed
This was a great video. Ronnie had me dying every time he said, “Oh? I’m still standing? I’m doing pretty good then!” 🤣 but his journey was amazing
He’s so country and humble lmao, that why we love him
So unbelievable mental strength not quitting after those years not being in the top 3. It costs so much to be on that level and this man sacrificed much to be standing there. That's just impressive.
Whenever and wherever Ronnie - respect.
Won his first Olympia at 33 and is known as one of, if not, the best of all time. If that’s not motivation Idk what is
It's really sad we could never see what a motivated Flex Wheeler could've looked like. Dorian once said, "Flex gave only 70%. If Flex trained the way I trained, we would all have a tough time beating him." Even Ronnie has admitted, "Flex was better than me, I just out worked him." When 2 legends say that, you know Flex was uber talented.
His name was literally Flex, it was in his genetics lol
I highly doubt flex accomplished as much as he did giving only 70% in a sport that people risk their lives for. He might have trained hard in private and appeared lazy so others would get a false sense of security
@@loonaticaaron even Shawn Ray (who trained with Flex) had been on record to saying that Flex was lazy at times but still managed to have a top tier physique. Sorry but as much as I love Flex, when guys like Ray, Nassar, Ronnie and Dorian say you're not motivated. You're not giving 100%
true haha
Soooo let mw get this straight. By Dorian's logic. He would have to do blood and guts inorder to beat him. No Flex just was lazy like Paul. That's it.
Ronnie Coleman the legend, a great motivational, bodybuilder, great mind set. Great man to listen too.
Couldn't agree more!
I used to listen to him all the time when I worked out in the same gym.. He would load up barbells dumbbells leg press machines and other contraptions with as much weight as he could put on them. Then he would stand back and say, in that gutteral growl of his, "lightweight baby, light weight!!" He would then proceed to slowly destroy his body.
Now I haven't seen Ronnie in years but I heard he's wheelchair-bound from all the monstrously heavy weighs he used for years. To this day I've never seen anybody use heavier weights than Ronnie Coleman.
[BTW my fav bodybuilder has always been, behind real natural Ronnie, Paul Dillett. I've always wanted to be 6'6" 300+lbs.]
@@dieseldog00 well said Everett. I've known of big Ron since I was little, when first started picking up the iron, and fell in love with it, he motivated, inspired me, still does. I know Gunter Schilkamp and Jay Cutler were well big, but never had the bulk or height overall of Ronny I think. I heard of his disability and in this wheel chair due to his heavy lifting. Hear now he making a come back and getting big again. I once got up to 180 pounds some fat and muscle, not muscle like Ronny, more like a strong man that was the muscle I carried you see, and weights lifted for strongman, not professionally, just in the gym at home. Still listen to Ronny now. Good to meet you Everett. Am Jamie.
@@jamiefrisby1914 I have dumbbells at home too thanks to COVID but I'm also back in the gym lifting and swimming. I'm too heavy, gotta trim down, hopefully to 250 from 280. Coleman's gonna kill himself getting back on the roids. He's almost 60, too old to be doin' that crap.
What makes ronnie the goat was his demeanor. A gentleman. Always smiling always laughing no matter what the situation
Ronnies biceps are just off the charts. Even at that first bodybuilding competition his biceps beat most Mr Olympia’s. Incredible.
And it's so weird that his biceps were so massive because Ronnie said that he seldom did biceps exercises.
@@Mostopinionatedmanofalltime it must be a genetic thing since I am not training much biceps either and it is one of my best looking parts... It is also strong, I am afraid of training it since ut could grow too big 😂
Let's make sure we don't miss the lesson. Fail, over and over, year after year, but don't give up chasing your dream. You can be the greatest bodybuilder of all time.
That and lots of steroids that will probably kill him when he's older. There are lots of physiological changes that are very harmful in the long run. The intestinal tract gets thickened for one. Heart muscle issues. You can't shove insulin and HGH into your body in unnaturally high doses and expect to get away with it. Don't believe me? Ask Arnold what he thinks, or a sports doctor.
Yeah, with the right genetics and connections
Man sacrificed his body for these moments to do what he loves and has a passion for and left his mark on this world man is a legend.
To be honest I thinking Ronnie looked better at a lighter weight. In those clips from 96 and 97 he looks great.
For more mass little proportions are lost
That is the problem of modern bodybuilding. No one is hard enough and has perfect proportions. And everybody is speaking from the classic athletes.
1998 Ronnie destroys those versions, dafuq?
Agreed the sport's misguided standards forced his hand because he wanted to win. As is the case for a lot of bodybuilders
The PROBLEM is that bodybuilders are so drugged up that the intestinal area gets very thick. The judges are awarding too many points for overall mass rather than the kind of Arnold approach to perfect symmetry that SHOULD be how it's done. Relatively small waist/joints to muscles and symmetry between muscle size. Personally, I lost interest because it looks gross and is not healthy in the long run.
I love it. Buddy was a machine even natural. You can literally see the year he started using gear.
im trying to find out which one. which one exactly?
@@Julian-mj4tb I think natural at 1:04 and then started taking stuff at 1:08. So natural during high school and then during college he started to take stuff.
@@SadBearOnABench yes that's what I also thought.
@@SadBearOnABench no this is where he started injections and heavy dosages. Before it was pills and small dosages without GH.
He was completely natural that's why he was losing,Flex Wheeler told him thst everyone else was using gear,Coleman didn't know until Flex told him.
No excuses!! I love it!! What a great man!!💯👊🏽
GOAT. Body building is a tough sport. 24/7, sacrifice healthy, and 99% body builders get no return from those sacrifices.
he sure grinded his way to the legend status he has now. good grind mr coleman! :) was proud to see it all happen
This is the best tribute video of Ronnie ❤️🔥
So many tears of joy.
Thanks for the motivation ronnie
The king of Bodybuilding 🔥🔥
Such a legend. I admire him a lot.
Really good video and what a great history of Ronnie Coleman
Wow, I love to watch and listen to such successful stories. Well done Ronnie 😊👍🏼.
There's no way he could've gotten last place with that body, they clearly cheated him, but you can't keep a good guy down for too long. You're a legend Ronnie.
Na época os competidores tinham 2 metros de pica esperando você vacilar, se não viesse no seu melhor você era punido. Não é igual hoje que temos hunter Labrada em quarto lugar
Back in the day you needed to build up reputation in Mr.Olympia. They valued consistency way more then today. Thats why back in the day the title gone to one person over several years now its changing every year (in the open).
@@bezzo9976 facts
One of the Greatest. I did my first show in Vermont in 1991 and he was the guest poser and he was a Monster even then..
Way to go, Ronnie. Remarkable stuff.
The "down side" of this "sport" is that it "overtaxes" the heart and thus, frequently, shortens lives.
this makes me cry
1:45 perfection
He would've dominated the 70's and 80's with this kind of physique.
Great Video for motivation
U re such a role model Big brother ,in life things dont come easy ,u work very hard ,tears and pain but u showed us ,Dont give up ,keep believing and work hard ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Every area of life has someone of which you know, that whatever happens in the future, his/her name will always be up there. When it comes to bodybuilding, that name is Ronnie Coleman.
Ronnie IS the Gift. I would have loved to see him in the 70's lineup.
You could tell in 95 and 96 he was going places. Crazy genetics! 98,99, 03, and 04 all different version of Ronnie, but each are the best physiques in history.
Amazing 👏
Glad i saw this video. I never thought of Ronnie giving up.. Man's a legend!
Imagine going from 9th place in 97 to winning the Mr Olympia the next year. That's why Ronnie Coleman is unbelievable.
His genetics are off the chart. He looked really good even before he started doing steroids.
Hello, I am was part of a German Visitor group and we found, that Flex was the best in overall points like posing , overall looking , normal standing, aesthetically. Ronny has the best muscle quality, mass, compulsory poses and Posedown.
So Ronny was for the most of us the winner
Nice content keep working like that. 👌
I was in Madison Square Garden for the prejudging that morning in '98. When Ronnie Coleman came out for his first set of compulsory poses, all by himself, he made a MASSIVE impression! He looked so much bigger, thicker, broader, denser and balanced than any other man there. You could see it when they lined up too. Flex had the symmetry and proportions of cartoon superhero! But Ronnie was just... More. I also thought Lee Priest was something out of this world too.
Great documentary, I subscribed 😃
Quando você luta pelos seus sonhos e corre atrás as coisas vem... Parabéns a lenda RONNY!
óin
King Coleman inspiring story💪
Its like wine and defeats makes victory sweet
Muito bom, quase chorei 😅❤️❤️
Great vid!
Ronnie genetics... I remember him at the universe. The most muscular winner we ever had at the universe. Freakin drug free. Those other years before 98 he was just too small. For the people wondering. He looked incredible but not enough for the mass monsters
For all success one and only one key is HARDWORK❤
Such a lovely gentleman ❤
in 96, Ronnie's placing was later upgraded to 6th, do to Nasser being DSQ. In 97, Ronnie deserved at least 4th. Nasser was the real winner in 97, Dorian should not have even been in top 6.
That's right bro. Poor Nasser got robbed.
Judges goofed up again in 2007 when Victor was placed 2nd.
'97 was the worst Olympia judging ever. In '82 when Franco won was also horrible, as was '07 with VM and Jay. But shit, Dorian was barely top 10 in '97 and won. How is that possible.?
Espectacular ♥️💘💖❣️👍🏻😘💌😻🔥💪🏻🤗👌🏻💟😍💞💕💜💝❤️💓😚
Increíble, admiro el potencial de Ronnie Coleman, mostrandonos la perseverancia como algo importante si se quiere alcanzar un sueño💪😎
Admiro a Arnold Schwarzenegger y Ronnie Coleman💪💪

True achievement! True warrior
Love me some Ronnie Coleman, he’s such an easygoing and humble person, I’ve always admired him for that. But also gotta agree with others about Flex Wheeler, if he had trained like the others history could have been different
Ronnies spirit is legendary never give up

Big thanks to Flex where given him the means he needed to be for many years the number one.
I herd about that. What did flex teach him how to juice the correct way or something ?
@@earlcoles7540 he told him what he needs to be able to fight at the front, unfortunately I don´t know more.
